가솔린 직접분사용 다공형 인젝터의 분무특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (Experimental Study on Spray Characteristics of Gasoline Direct Injection Multi-hole Injector)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 경제적이고, 친환경적인 가솔린 직접 분사 인젝터의 분무특성을 연구하는 것에 있다. 분무도달거리, 분무각 그리고 혼합기 형성과 같은 인젝터의 특성을 가시화 실험을 통하여 측정하였다. 특히 분무압력과 분위기압력이 분무 침투거리와 분무각에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 가시화 실험을 위하여 정적 연소실과 연료 공급장치를 제작하였다. 초고속 카메라와 LED광원을 이용하여 분무형상을 촬영하였고, 촬영된 영상으로 분무 특성을 분석하였다. 연소실내의 분위기압력이 감소하고, 연료의 분무압력이 증가할수록 도달거리는 증가하였다. 분위기압력과 분무압력에 대해 분무각의 변화는 미소하지만, 분위기압력이 분무각에 더 큰 영향을 미치고 있다.

PDPA와 고속카메라에 의한 액상부탄 간헐분무 특성 연구 (The Characteristics of a Transient Liquefied Butane Spray using PDPA and High Speed Camera)

  • The characteristics of liquefied butane spray are expected to be different from conventional diesel fuel spray, because a flash boiling spray is expected when the surround pressure is below the saturated vapor pressure of the butane(0.23MPa 98K). The axial velocities. radial velocities. and size distributions in butane sprays were measured with PDPA(Phase Doppler Particle Analyzer) system. Sprays were macroscopically observed by using the high speed camera in case that the surround pressure is 0.37MPa and 0.15MPa. respectively. Compared with the conventional spray. the reversed results were investigated when the surround pressure is below the saturated vapor pressure of the butane.

광학 선형 패터네이터를 이용한 고압 환경 하에서의 분무 측정 (Spray Measurement Using Optical Line Patternator at High Ambient Pressure)

  • Optical Line Patternator(OLP) has been applied to get a distribution of the spray at high ambient pressure. OLP is a combined technique of extinction measurement and image processing. The attenuated intensity of laser beam after traversing spray region was measured by using a photo-detector, and the line image of Mie-scattering was captured simultaneously in the path of each laser beam by using a CCD camera. The distribution of extinction coefficient in the spray is obtained by processing these data with the algebraic reconstruction technique. From the distribution of extinction coefficient, the surface distribution of spray can be reconstructed. OLP does not use laser sheet but use laser beam so that the noise effect of multiple scattering, caused by increasing number density of droplet in high pressure environment, is reduced drastically. OLP is expected as a suitable method which can investigate the characteristics of relatively large spray under the high pressure environment such as liquid rocket engine.

  • Spray and combustion characteristics were investigated to find suitable injection pressure by using ultra high pressure injection and single shot diesel combustion systems. As injection pressure was increased, spray penetration and spray angle were increased continuously until 2,000bar, but after this injection pressure region the rate of increase was decreased suddenly. Combustion characteristics were also enhanced until 2,000bar of injection pressure.

바이오 디젤 연료의 고압 분무 특성 (Characteristics of High Pressure Bio-diesel Fuel Spray)

  • Spray characteristics of conventional diesel fuel and bio-diesel fuel(methyl-ester of soybean oil) were compared, in terms of spray tip penetration and spray angle, by using a commercial high pressure common rail injection system for light-duty DI Diesel engines. The experiments were carried out under the non-evaporating condition at ambient density(8.8, $15.6 kg/\textrm{m}^3$) and injection pressure(75, 135 MPa). The experimental method was based on a laser sheet scattering technique. Spray tip penetrations of bio-diesel fuel were longer, on the whole, than those of conventional diesel fuel, except for lower injection pressure(75 MPa) under lower ambient density$(8.8 kg/\textrm{m}^3)$. But spray near angle and spray far angle of bio-diesel fuel were smaller than those of conventional diesel fuel, implying spray angle is related to the growth rate of spray tip penetration. The experimental results of spray tip penetration agreed well with the calculated values by the Wakuri et al.'s correlation based on the momentum theory.

산업용 에칭노즐을 이용한 Invar합금판의 식각에 분사각과 압력이 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Injection Angle and Pressure on Etch of Invar Plate Using Industrial Etch-Nozzle)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the significant characteristics in spray of industrial etch-nozzle for the design of process. The experiment was carried out with different spray pressure and industrial nozzle in wet etch. The characteristics of liquid spray, such as axial velocity and sauter mean diameter measurements were obtained by PDA. And impact force was calculated from spray characteristics. It was found that the fluid with higher spray pressure resulted in the smaller SMD and the higher droplet velocity and impact force. The depth of etch was increased in case of high spray pressure. In the case of injection angle oscillated between $20^{\circ}$, the result indicated constant effect of etch. The correlation between the spray characteristics and etch ones were analyzed. The depth of etch had good positive correlation with axial velocity and impact force. The result clearly shows that the characteristics in wet etch are strongly related to the spray characteristics with process.

SPRAY AND COMBUSTION CHARACTERISTICS OF HYDROCARBON FUEL INJECTED FROM PRESSURE-SWIRL NOZZLES

  • This paper presents spray and combustion characteristics of hydrocarbon fuel injected from pressure-swirl nozzles. Three commercial nozzles with orifice diameters of 0.256, 0.308 and 0.333mm and injection pressures ranging from 0.7 to 1.3 MPa were selected f9r the experiments. Spray characteristics such as breakup length. spray angle and drop size (SMD) were analyzed using photo image analyses and Malvern Panicle Size Analyzer. The drop size was measured with and without a blower at the same measuring locations. The flame length and width were measured using photo image analyses. The temperature distribution along the axial distance and the gas emission such as CO, $CO_2\;and\;NO_x$ were studied. The breakup length decreased with an increase in injection pressure for each nozzle but increased with an increase in nozzle orifice diameter. The spray angle increased and SMD decreased with an increase in injection pressure. The flame with an increased linearly with an increase in injection pressure and in nozzle orifice diameter. The flame temperature increased with an increase in injection pressure but decreased along the axial distance. The maximum temperatures occurred closer to the burner exit and flame at axial distance of 242mm from the diffuser tip. The experimental results showed that the level of CO decreased while that of $CO_2\;and\;NO_x$ increased with an increase in injection pressure and nozzle orifice diameter.

정적연소실내의 디젤분무증발과 연소특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Diesel Spray Evaporation and Combustion Characteristics in Constant Volume Chamber)

  • As a fundamental study to apply high pressure injection system to direct injection diesel engine, fuel injection system and constant volume combustion chamber were made and the behaviors of evaporating spray with the variation of injection pressure and the ambient gas temperature were observed by using high speed camera, and the combusion characteristics with the variation of injection pressure and A/F ratio were analyzed. As injection pressure increases, spray tip penetration and spray angle increase and, as a results spray volume increases. This helps an uniform mixing of fuel and air. Spray liquid core length decreases as ambient gas temperature increases, while it decreases as injection pressure increases but the effect of ambient gas temperature is dorminant. As injection pressure increases, ignition delay is shortened and combustion rate being raised, maximum heat release rate increases. It become clear that High injection pressure has high level of potential to improve the performance of DI-diesel engine.

  • The object of this investigation is to study the thermal properties and spray characteristics of kerosene fuel in high temperature and pressure conditions. In order to investigate the thermal properties and spray characteristics, KIVA3 and SUPERTRAPP have been used at the same time. The thermal properties of kerosene has been calculated in high temperature and pressure condition using SUPERTRAPP. The study of spray characteristics has been conducted at both original properties of KIVA3 and calculated properties. The evaporation rate was increased in proportion to pressure when the calculated properties were used. However, the effect of pressure was not shown in the case of using original properties. So the calculated properties are more effective than original properties in high temperature and high pressure condition.

  • Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) has been used as motor fuel due to its low emissions and low cost. This study addresses the analysis of the LPG spray behavior near injection nozzle. The LPG spray photographs are compared with sprays of diesel fuel at the same conditions. The LPG spray photos show that the dispersion characteristic depends very sensuously on the ambient pressure soon after injection. The spray angle is very wide in a low ambient pressure condition until the saturated pressure at this test condition, but the angle value is quickly reduced at the condition over the pressure.
