2차 분사시스템을 갖는 De-NOx 시스템의 충돌판 형상에 따른 연료의 혼합 및 증발 특성 향상을 위한 연구 (Characteristics of Fuel Mixing and Evaporation Based on Impingement Plate Shape in a Denitrification NOx System with a Secondary Injection Unit)

  • 디젤엔진에서는 2차 분사 시스템은 다양한 배기 시스템에 적용이 가능하고, 엔진 제어와 관계없이 독립적으로 제어가 가능하기 때문에 환원제 희석 면에서도 후분사 또는 다른 농후한 환원제 분위기 형성 방법 등에 비해 장점이 많다. 2차 분사 시스템에서는 환원제의 공급 방법에 따라서 촉매의 효율은 달라질 수밖에 없다. 환원제는 일정압력 이상으로 유지 및 최적화가 필요하고, 인젝터의 위치 및 각도의 선정은 매우 중요한 인자이다. 본 논문에서는 2차 분사 조건을 변화시켜 환원제의 농도와 양을 변화시켰다. De-NOx 촉매 시스템에서 최대의 NOx 정화 효율에 적합한 환원제 분사 조건들의 선정이 필요하고, 분무 도달거리, 분무 평균 입경, 분무각, 분사량 등의 분무 특성과 환원제의 균일 분포를 잘 파악하여야 한다. 이와 같은 목적을 위하여 2차 분사에서 충돌판 형상에 의한 분무 및 거동 특성은 가시화 방법과 디지털 화상 처리 기법을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 충돌판 형상의 영향성과 각 형상에 대한 최적 각도 범위를 도출하였다.

  • In the present work, effects of spray characteristics (droplet size and velocity) on the temperature variation of a heated porous plate (Melamine foam) have been investigated through a series of experiments. Based on the measured data, time required to cool down the hot porous material turned out to be shorten by doing with the smaller droplet size and/or smaller impinging velocity. In particular, the droplet size effect is more prominent than the impinging velocity. The cooling performance in the porous material is directly proportional to the penetration velocity.

Gasoline Spray Characteristics Impinging onto the Wall Surface in Suction Air Flow

  • This study investigates spray characteristics before and after wall impingingment of gasoline spray in suction air flow. For this study, a rectangular model intake port was made of acrylic glass, and suction air was generated by using the forced air blower contrariwise. The injector for this study was a pintle-type port gasoline injector in which an air-assist adaptor is installed to supply assisted air. A PDPA system was employed to simultaneously measure the size and velocity of droplets near the wall. Measured droplets are divided into "pre-impinging droplets"with positive normal velocity and "post-impinging droplets"were negative normal velocity for the suction flow. The velocities, size distributions and Sauter mean diameter(SMD) of pre-and post-impinging droplets for varions injection angles and air-assists are comparatively analyzed.

가솔린 직분식 엔진의 연소실 개발을 위한 분무 및 유동장 해석 (Analysis of Spray and Flow Fields for Development of Spark-ignited Direct Injection Engine)

  • For development of SDI(Spark-ignited Direct Injection) engine, stratified mixture formation with adequate strength at spark plug was required in wide range of engine operating conditions. So, spray structure under high ambient pressure and spray distribution after impingement on piston bowl in motoring engine was visualized by using laser equipments. Also, incylinder bulk flow structure was measured by using PIV (Paiticle Image Velocimetry) system. Counter-rotating tumble port and bowl piston was found effective to conserve bulk motion directed to spark plug in compression stroke. In addition, mask attached near valve seat in intake port was proposed to attenuate conventional tumble component and enhance counter-rotating tumble component.

보염기 주위의 연료액적크기와 연소특성에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Drop Size and the Combustion Characteristics around the Bluff-body)

  • This work was performed to investigate the distribution of the fuel droplet size around the bluff-body and the combustion characteristics. The bluff-body is used fur the purpose of increasing the combustion efficiency by stabilizing the flame. Diameters of the bluff-body in this experiment are 6, 8, and 10mm and the impingement angles are $30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}\;and\;90^{\circ}$. The measurement points were at the distances of 20 and 30 mm axially from the nozzle. The geometry of the bluff-body influenced the spray shape and the combustion characteristics. The SMD was acquired by image processing technique (PMAS), and the mean temperatures were measured by thermocouple. In the condition of ${\theta}=60^{\circ}$, the values of SMD are not greatly varied compared to the other conditions. As the angle of bluff-body was increased, the high temperature region was wider along radial direction. When the air-fuel ratio was larger than 5.2, the NOx concentration was decreased, and an increase in the diameter of the bluff-body decreased the NOx of emission.

  • The behavior of spray impinging on the inclined constant temperature flat plate was experimentally investigated. To clarify the wall effect of a high pressure DISI injector, a relative angle of the inclined wall to a spray axis was varied. Spray penetration along the wall was observed optically and it was compared with that of a Fan spray type and Swirl type spray. To evaluate various spray motion quantitatively, a spray path penetration which describe the development of a spray tip along the wall was newly introduced. To observe the structure of an impinging spray, it was visualized by a controlled stroboscope light and its visualized image was captured on an CCD camera. Using the digital image of impinging spray $H_x$ and $R_x$ was extracted to clarify the structure of impinging spray. The main parameter of the relative position of the wall was the inclined angle which was defined as the angle was varied from $0^{\circ}$ (vertical impingement) to $60^{\circ}$ at the same condition.

  • 본 연구는 기체/액체를 사용하는 Swirl injector에 의해서 형성된 Spray fan 사이의 간섭효과를 평가하기 위한 실험연구로서, 공급압력과 인젝터 사이의 거리를 변수로 하여 실험을 수행하였다. 사용되는 기체는 공기, 액체는 물을 사용하였으며, 분사된 물의 질량분포를 채집하여 Spray fan의 간섭효과를 평가하였다. 본 연구 범위에서 실험결과는 다음과 같다. 액체만 공급하여 형성된 두 개의 Spray fan이 충돌할 경우, 충돌점 하부에 질량이 집중적으로 포집되었고, 공급압력이 증가함에 따라 이러한 간섭현상은 감소하였다. 공기와 물이 동시에 공급될 경우에도 충돌점 하부에 질량이 집중되는 현상을 나타냈으나, 공기압력대 물 압력비가 증가함에 따라 이러한 간섭현상은 감소하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 앞서의 연구들에서 얻은 연구성과를 실제의 디이젤기관에 적용 시켜 화염의 발달상태와 기관속도의 상승 등을 고찰하여, 그 유효성을 평가했다. 또 고온공기류덕트에서는 실험하기가 곤란했던, 분무자체에 족회운동을 일으킨 경우의 연 소과정에 대해서도 피스톤요부의 벽면에 충돌하는 분무의 각도를 변화시켜, 고속도 화 염사진으로 부터 검토했다.

  • This paper presents twin spray characteristics of two impinging F-O-O-F type injectors in which fuel and oxidizer impinge on each other to atomize under the various conditions. The droplet size and velocity in the impinging spray flow field were measured using a PDPA. The droplet size and velocity were investigated at mixture ratios of 1.5, 2.0, 2.47 and 3.0 for four injectors in which two single F-O-O-F injectors were arranged at intervals of 20.8, 31.2, 41.6 and 62.4mm respectively. In general, the arithmetic mean diameter, SMD and standard deviation of droplet size in the interaction area (X=0 and Y=0mm) were smaller. The axial velocity in the interaction area was slightly higher. Considering the behavior of impinged droplets using the We number calculated by using the axial velocity instead of the relative velocity in line C in Fig. 1(b) for four injectors, it is consumed that the We number over 500 had the possibility to disintegrate, and the We number below 500 had it to cohere after impingement of twin spray. The results of this study can be used for the design of a nozzle for liquid propellant rockets.

  • The nozzle length to diameter ratio of real diesel nozzles is about 2-8 which is not long enough for a fully developed and stabilized flow. The characteristics of the flow such as turbulence at the nozzle exit which affect the development of the spray can be enhanced by impinging the flow inside nozzle. The flow details inside the impinging nozzles have been investigated both experimentally and numerically. The mean velocities, the fluctuating velocities, and discharge coefficients in the impinging inlet nozzles, round inlet nozzle, and sharp inlet nozzle were obtained at various Reynolds number. The developing feature of the external spray were photographed by still camera and the droplet sizes and velocities were also measured by laser Doppler technique. The spray angle was greater and the droplet sizes near the spray axis were smaller with the impinging flow inside nozzle.
