The wire-arc process is a low-cost thermal spray method simply utilizes electrical energy to melt the feedstock wire. It is more userful for field applications, especially to coat large surface area. In this paper, a special Fe-based alloy coatings by using the wire-arc process were developed. Nanoscale composite coatings were achieved either during spraying or through a post heat treatment. As-sprayed Fe-based alloy coatings had been an amorphous matrix structure, after heating to $700^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes a solid state transformation occurred in the some fraction of amorphous matrix which resulted in the formation of nanostructured recrystallized phase. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and field emotional scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) were applied to analyze the microstructure of the coatings. Additionally hardness and bend resistance of the Fe-based alloy coatings were examined, and these results were compared with those of partially stabilized zirconia(PSZ) coatings by using the plasma spray process.

This paper presents results from field studies carried out to monitor off-target droplet movement of endosulfan insecticide applied to the Korea chestnut tree area. As a results, mean airborne drift values were recorded 25m as average from downwind of a single flight line(sample line) in mountain terrain and mean effective swath width was recorded 19.5m as average in a plain. In terms of characteristics of geography of Korea aerial application is mainly carried out in mountain terrain. The equipment, weather conditions, and appropriate aerial spray technic are required for effective aerial application. In particular, the pilot can get effective results when he only sprays with consideration of environment factors since there is much turbulence in mountain terrain. Eventually, the most effective factor of droplets drift is to estimate the local weather conditions exactly.
Zr0.94Y0.06O1.97 powder was synthesized by the ultrasonic spray pyrolysis with various concentrations of starting solution and the influence of powder characteristics on sintering behavior was investigated. Powders prepared at 75$0^{\circ}C$ were characterized as narrowly distributed submicron spherical particles, which were crystalline, nonagglomerated, and compositionally homogeneous. The changes in concentration from 0.01 to 01. mol/ι increased mean particle size from 0.24 to 0.38${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and decreased the specific surface area from 14.2 to 2.9$m^2$/g. The relative density of the specimen from the powders, prepared with the solution concentration of 0.01 mol/ι, was 98% after sintering for 2 hr at 1,45$0^{\circ}C$ and the monoclinic phase was observed after sintering at 1,55$0^{\circ}C$. As the concentration of starting solution was increased, the formation temperature of monoclinic phase was lowered.
Droplet impingement on solid surfaces is pivotal for a range of spray and heat transfer processes. This study aims to optimize the cooling performance of single droplet impingement on heated textured surfaces. We focused on maximizing the cooling effectiveness or the total contact area at the droplet maximum spread. For efficient estimation of the optimal values of the unknown variables, we introduced an enhanced Genetic Algorithm (GA) and Particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO). These novel algorithms incorporate its developed theoretical backgrounds to compare proper optimized results. The comparison, considering the peak values of objective functions, computation durations, and the count of penalty particles, confirmed that PSO method offers swifter and more efficient searches, compared to GA algorithm, contributing finding the effective way for the spray and droplet impingement process.
This study was to make powder by coprecipitation method and spray dispersion precipitation method in $(1-x)ZrO_2-xMgO$ system to improve sinterability. As the result the specific surface area of powder prepared by spray dispersion precipitation method and coprecipitation method was above $110m^2/g$ and $10-20m^2/g$ respectively. Spray dispersion precipitation method was more effective than coprecipitation method in powder preparation.
Fine TiO2 and BaTiO3 powders having spherical particles were synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis of alcoholic solution of metal alkoxide in an electric furnace heated at 400-90$0^{\circ}C$. Microstructure and composition of particles synthesized were observed by TEM and XRD respectively. Spectific surface area of powders synthesized was examined through BET specific surface area measurement. TEM observation revealed that the particle size did not change irrespective of pyrolysis temperature but decreased according to the increase of concentration and spherical particle was consisted of primary particles of about 0.02${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. As for BaTiO3 powder, the ratio of Ti/Ba was 0.987 by EDX analysis.
In the recent farming industry, there is a growing diffusion of drones, which are recognized as a crucial technology of the 4 th industrial revolution to cope with aging. Especially, filming and pest control using drones are representative fields that have different age groups for obtaining a national license of multicopter that is a ultra-light flying device, and can create profits after getting a license. However, pest control technology using drones has different spray effects depending on levels of operational proficiency, since this highly relies on an operator's operating skills. It is anticipated that if this issue is supplemented, the use of drones for pest control in the farming industry will diversify. For analysis of spraying characteristics of agricultural pest control drones, this study aims to formulate effective spraying hours and effective spraying intervals and suggest an algorithm, which facilitates an accurate calculation of pest control area depending on the kinds of pest control drones. This algorithm can be used in the field of pest control by improving scatterling issues caused by drone flight methods of drone pest controllers and building an optimum pest control manual in future.
This research was conducted to test the feasibility of utilizing high-pressure water jets of over 1.0㎫ as a means of breaking and peeling garlic bulbs. High-pressure plunger pumps and flat-spray nozzles of varying orifice diameters and spray angles were utilized to supply water jets into a prototype peeling chamber made of transparent acrylic plates. Water jets were discharged from a total of six nozzles installed in such a way that three parallel nozzles face the other three. The cross-sectional area of the peeling chamber and the installation angle of the nozzles had critical effects on peeling performance. Small cross-sectional area was required so that total impact force of water jets on garlic could be increased. The optimum installation angles were around 4, 8, and 16$^{\circ}$ for the nozzles having 15, 40, and 65$^{\circ}$ spray angles, respectively. Best performance with 61.4% of completely-peeled garlics was obtained at a pressure of 1.94㎫ and a flow rate of 9.07 $\ell$/min for each nozzle. The peeling efficiency of the system was generally unsatisfactory due to the limited flow rate of the plunger pumps utilized. For better performance, it is recommended to increase flow rate while reducing operating pressure by utilizing other type of pumps.
In this paper, a composite maintenance robot using carbon fiber spray method was developed that automatically sprays mixture was created for repair to damaged areas to repair them. To develop a robot, a repair process was developed in which a mixture of milled carbon fiber, epoxy resin, and hardener is sprayed and consolidated on the damaged area. To automate the repair process, an EOAT based on a collaborative robot was developed that can automatically suction and spray the mixture onto the damaged area. To evaluate the repair performance of the robot, 0° and 90° unidirectional specimens were manufactured and tested in accordance with ASTM D3039. Tests were performed on undamaged specimen, damaged specimen, and repaired specimen by a robot after damaged. As a result of the specimen test, the tensile strength of the 0° and 90° specimens was recovered by 10% and 90% after repair. Based on the test results, the repair performance of the developed composite maintenance robot was verified.

This study was performed to investigate the characteristics of a co-axial swirl injector. Especially to predict the initial liquid sheet thickness and spray cone angle of an outer orifice a concept of effective area was introduced from hydraulic analysis. In addition, the parameters determining the characteristics of a co-axial swirl injector were re-defined around outer orifice. The calculated results-SMD, spray cone angle, and spray thickness agreed well with the test results qualitatively.
