기존 소형버너용 압력-선회노즐의 분무특성 (Spray Characteristic of Pressure-Swirl Nozzles Used in Small Scale Burner)

  • It is important to improve the efficiency of the existing small scale burner which used in agricultural product dry system and gardening dry system. In order to economize fuel Consumption and decrease the exhaust emission especially $CO_2$, the better design for the small scale burner is needed. Spray characteristics are the essential element for the design. Macroscopic spray characteristics such as spray angle and breakup length were measured. SMD which is contained the Microscopic spray characteristics was measured too. SMD was measured at 8mm, I2mm, I6mm downstream of the nozzle tip for both Hago and Danfoss nozzles by the Malvern Particle Sizer.

  • This study was experimentally performed to investigate flow characteristics of spray droplets in the wind tunnel. Behavior of the spray droplets in the pipe was observed and the deposition rate of droplets on the surface of pipe as liquid film was measured. The experiments were carried out for a variety of parameter, such as velocity of feed air, spray angle of nozzle, and diameter of droplet. From the visual observation of the spray droplets in the pipe and the measurement of deposition rate on the pipe, the general understanding of droplets behavior for desuperheater was provided.

Comparison of Spray Characteristics between Conventional and Electrostatic Pressure-Swirl Nozzles

  • Spray characteristics produced by conventional and electrostatic pressure-swirl nozzles for an oil burner have been studied, using kerosine as a test liquid. The charge injection mechanism is used to design the electrostatic nozzle, where specific charge density, breakup length, spray angle and mean diameter are measured and analyzed. Three nozzles with orifice diameters of 0.256, 0.308 and 0.333mm at injection pressures of 0.7, 0.9, 1.1 and 1.3 MPa are used in the study. In case of the electrostatic nozzle, voltages ranging from -5 to -12kV are applied. Comparison of the spray characteristics is made between the conventional and electrostatic nozzles. The results showed that, the electrostatic nozzle is superior to the conventional nozzle. This is due the effect of voltage on the liquid surface tension.

농업용 액체 분무용 초음파 분사효과에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on The Effect of Ultrasonic Atomization in Agricultural Twin-fluid Nozzle)

  • The objective of this study is to investigate experimentally atomization characteristics for differently made an ultrasonic twin-fluid nozzle. A spray system, an ultrasonic system, and three different type(Nozzle type, Tube type, Conventional type)are made and tested by applied with ultrasonic energy. In this investigation, the measurement and calculation of spray droplet are to analyze the effects of ultrasonic energy on the agricultural atomization system. Through the measurement of suray angle, spray column using, high speed camera and PDA, it is found that nozzle type is highest efficiency than that of tube type and conventional type. It was found that the ultrasonic energy increased the atomization efficiency of spray droplets about 9% respectively and spray angle was wide spray.

  • 본 연구에서는 케로신/과산화수소 점화용 분사기의 설계/제작하여 분무특성에 관한 연구를 수행하고자 하였으며, 이에 앞서 촉매점화방식으로 적용할 때 가장 적합한 분사기를 설계하고자 하였다. 설계/제작된 분사기를 수류시험을 통해 질량 유량 및 분산각을 측정하였다. 그 결과 케로신의 목표 질량유량(12.88 g/s)은 설계 차압과 같은 차압인 3 bar에서 측정되었으며, 이 때 분산각은 $40^{\circ}$을 확인하였다. 또한 과산화수소의 목표 질량 유량(94.39 g/s)은 설계 차압(3 bar) 보다 작은 1 bar에서 측정됨을 확인하였다.

고압스월분무 액막유동의 초기 발달과정에 대한 연구 (The Initial Film Flow Development of the High-Pressure Swirl Spray)

  • The initial film flow development of the high-pressure swirl spray was investigated at different injector operating conditions to analyze film flow development and to provide the input data for the modeling works. This result can be also useful to verify the previously simulated results. The initial flow conditions such as liquid film thickness, flow angle and flow divergence are obtained by visualizing the inside and near the nozzle flow with a microscopic imaging system. The visualized images are quantified using an image processing tool. From the information of liquid film thickness and flow angle, the initial axial and tangential velocity and the swirl number of the swirl spray are successfully determined at various operating conditions. The experimental results showed that the initial liquid film thickness, flow angle and flow divergence are remained constant when the injection pressure is increased. However, initial film conditions are severely changed when the fuel temperature is increased. The swirl number remained constant when the injection pressure is increased while it showed increased value at high fuel temperature condition.

  • The flow field and spray characteristics for loop scavenged type 2stroke engine having pancake shape was numerically computed using KIVA-Ⅱ code. The cylinder has 1intake port, 2side intake ports and 1exhaust port with induced flow angle 25 deg. In engine calculation, the chop techniques is used to strip or add planes of cells across the mesh adjacent to the TDC and the BDC(ports parts) for preventing the demand of exceed time during the computation, providing a control on cell height in the squish region. The modified turbulent model including the consideration of the compressibility effect due to the compression and expansion of piston was also used. The case of 25 deg.(injection angle) which is opposite to scavenging flow direction shows better the distribution of droplets and the evaporation rate of droplets compared to other cases(0 deg., - 25 deg.). When injection pressure was increased, the spray tip penetration became longer. When injection pressure was increased, the interaction between the upward gas velocity and spray droplets strongly cause. Thus the breakup of droplets is strongly occurred and the evaporation rate of droplets was found to be better.

  • 본 연구는 이원추진제 추력기의 핵심부품에 대한 성능평가의 일환으로, 기체메탄/액체산소를 추진제로 사용하는 스월 동축형 인젝터의 리세스 길이 및 분사압력에 따른 분무특성 파악을 목표로 하였다. 분무형상은 슐리렌 가시화 기법을 이용하여 획득하였고, 슐리렌장치는 광원, 오목거울, 초고속카메라 등으로 구성된다. 내부 인젝터에 의한 액체 분무의 경우 hollow cone 형상을 확인하였으며, 내부 인젝터 오리피스 길이의 증가와 함께 스월강도 감쇠의 영향으로 분무각은 줄어들었다. 기체-액체를 함께 분사할 때, 분무각은 리세스 길이가 증가함에 따라 외부혼합영역에서 증가하지만, 내부혼합영역에서는 작아졌는데, 액체분무 분사 압력의 높고 낮음에 무관하다는 사실을 확인하였다.

  • As the exhaustion of petroleum resources and air pollution problems are getting serious recently, there are growing interests in premixed diesel engines which have the potential of achieving a more homogeneous mixture near TDC compared to conventional diesel engines. Early studies have shown that the fuel injection frequency and spray angle affected the mixture formation and combustion in a HCCI(Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition) engine. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between combustion and mixture formations by injection timing and frequency using a narrow angle injector, NADI (Narrow Angle Direct Injection). In this study, we found that the fuel injection timing and injection frequency affect the mixture formations and then affect combustion in the HCCI engine.

공기보조형 가솔린 연료 분사기의 분무거동 및 미립화 특성 (Spray Behavior and Atomization Characteristics of Air-Assist Type Gasoline Fuel Injector)

  • To investigate the spray behavior and atomization characteristics using an air-assist injector, spray visualization and PDPA measurements were carried out under the various assisted air pressures and the fixed fuel pressure. The air assist pintle type injector employed in this study is consisted of the air assist adaptor and an injector housing using the gasoline fuel and air as the working fluids. As results, increasing pressure of assisted air, the growth of spray tip penetration is gradually reduced at the end of spray and spray angle is steadily increased at the main spray region except from the early spray. For the air assist pressure of 25㎪ in a spray downstream, it is doncluded that droplet size distribution shows the peak of 10${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ and most of the droplet sizes are less than 50${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$. Also, the air-assist injector extremely improves fuel atomization in order to produce much finer droplets, it shows that approximately, in this case, 50% decreade of SMD than without air assit.
