  • The data were collected from the water sports industries, resort owners, equipment manufactures and the associations. The inquiry and data collection were made by visiting the corresponding facilities. Based on these data, the plan for infra instruction of water leisure sports were proposed.

A Study on the Preference of Leisure Facilities in Apartment-Complex (공동주택단지의 여가시설 선호에 관한 연구)

  • To design common facilities that support residents' leisure activities is one of the comtemporary issues in Korea. People became interested in the leisure facilities in near-home environments. The purpose of this study was to analyze the uses and needs of leisure facilities of residents living in apartment complexes The questionnaire survey was conducted in the selected apartment complexes, and 676 responses were used for data analysis. The statistical techniques used for data analysis included frequencies, percentage, mean, and $x^2$-test. The major finding were as follows: 1) Subjects needed the diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed divers facilities for sports. 2) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house. 3) It was found that the respondents preferred safe and various leisure facilities, and the leisure facilities were exclusively used for the residents only, and the use by non-residents should be charged at the expense. Also, respondents were willing to pay additional fee for the better quality of leisure facilities, and sports leisure facilities congregated in one building were highly desirable.

Exploring the value of marine sports as a sport for all (생활체육으로서 해양스포츠의 가치 탐구)

  • As the participation in marine sports activities has increased according to the increased national income, changes in lifestyle, etc., this study explored various values and possibilities towards a sport for all, which are inherent in marine sports, through the literature research with respect to leisure activities, sport for all, and marine sports. As a result of study, marine sports include the functional values, such as leisure satisfaction and welfare function, as a tool to improve the quality of life, which the sport for all may have, and not only have a positive impact on individual lives, but further, can also contribute to raising the level of social well-being. Marine sports are directly experienced physical activities utilizing nature and importantly functioning in human beings' understanding nature; especially, it could be found that they have the high emotion-educational value which could make the right personality formed for the adolescents in modern society, whose unrealistic leisure activities account for the most part of their leisure time. These results suggest that marine sports contain sufficient positive values and possibilities as a sport for all, and the value as a sport for all could be realized which marine sports may have through active participation.

Effect of Leisure Support and Leisure Constraints on Life Satisfaction of Extreme Sports Participants (익스트림 스포츠 참여자의 여가지지가 여가제약과 생활만족에 미치는 영향)

  • The study aimed to effect of leisure support and leisure constraints on life satisfaction for extreme sports participants. A total of 368 adults from Seoul, In-chon, Gyeonggi, and Chungcheng-do were recruited. I conducted frequency, reliability, confirmatory factor, correction, and structure equaling modeling analyses using PASW Statistics 18.0 and AMOS 18.0. The results were as follows: (1) leisure support of extreme sport participants has no influence on leisure constraints; (2) leisure support of extreme sport participants had no influence on life satisfaction; (3) leisure constrain of extreme sports had a positive influence on life satisfaction. The article revealed which sport activity as like leisure activity had influence on life satisfaction, and leisure support of participants were related with life satisfaction. Therefore, we continue need to induce to join a extreme sport as it publicize a good benefits for extreme sport.

A Study on Scale of Participation Motive for Leisure Sports (여가 스포츠 참여동기 척도 분석에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to encourage continuous participation in sports and to provide basic data for the promotion of participation in leisure sports. To achieve the purpose, this study conducted factor scaling analysis on participation motives for leisure sports and subdivided them to analyze psychological reactions of participants. As for study methods, this study collected master and doctor's degree theses and academic journals on motives for sports participation that were conducted from 1997 to 2012 from Korean major search engines. On the search engines, a keyword 'motive' was searched first and then studies on participation motive for leisure sports were collected. Key words that appeared when searching 'motive' were combined with other key words and word spacing between them were checked before conducting a literature analysis. The study results showed that participation motives for leisure sports were divided into a participation motive, an internal motive, an external motive, a leisure motive and other motives. It was identified that there were 23 factors for the participation motive, 17 factors each for the internal motive and the external motive, 8 factors for the leisure motive and 57 factors for other motives. It was found out that 76 factors were used to study a participation motive for leisure sports, excluding the factors that have similar or overlapping meaning based on each factor.

Qualitative Inquiry on the Formation of Serious Leisure Experience for Water Sports Mania (해양스포츠 매니아의 진지한 여가체험 형성에 관한 질적탐구)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the formation of serious leisure experience for water sports mania using grounded theory method approach. Research participants were selected 6 water sports mania by reputational sampling method. Six participants who usually participated in water sports club were selected as research participants. The data for this study included participants' observation and in-depth interview. This study categorized the coding paradigm which was presented by using the findings derived from data as they were into casual condition, contextual element, central phenomenon, critical situation, mediative element, interaction, final result and core category to draw out the process of becoming a water sports mania and its significances. The results of were as follows. First, water sports mania recognized the environmentally safe pleasure and value. Second, water sports mania was in a race against myself. Third, water sports mania felt the social and environmental changes. Fourth, water sports mania was looking for alternative method. Fifth, water sports mania overcome physical limitations and liberation from fear of water. Lastly, water sports mania felt alive through the enthusiastic participation.

  • This study is for a search for methods of development of marine leisure sports. As worldwide trend of marine leisure sports is developing rapidly and people more concern about their quality of life and leisure in Korea, the ear of marine leisure sports should be coming in Korea soon. This study is for a search for methods of development though the SWOT analysis. The results of the study are as below. First, the Strength of enlargement of the base in Korea are elation of concern of government and local governments, expanding local event of marine leisure sports with existing facilities and various programs. Second, the weakness of enlargement of the base in Korea are lack of awareness of marine leisure sports, frequent accident occurrence and lack of experts of marine leisure sports. Third, the Opportunity of enlargement of the base in Korea are more budget due to elation of concern of government and local governments and more preference of people in Korea. Fourth, the Threaten of enlargement of the base in Korea are low efficiency of high cost investment construction from government and local governments, huge fee of using facilities due to high cost investment construction and requiring treatment improvement of instructors of leisure sports facilities.

A Study on the Characteristics of Leisure Facilities and Needs of Residents in Apartment Complex (공동주택단지 내 여가시설 특성 및 거주자 요구에 관한 연구)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of leisure facilities and to examine residents' needs for leisure facilities in apartment complex. The questionnaire survey and content analysis were used. The Data for content analysis were 476 site plans, and the subjects of questionnaire survey were 673 residents lilving in 35 apartment complex. Frequency, Percentage, and mean, ANOVA-A, x^{2}-test, and multiple regression were used for data analysis. The major results were as follows. 1) Facilities for children play, and senior, sports facilities, community center, green area, and resting place were included in leisure facilities in apartment complex. These facilities were different according to complex site and built-period. 2)The degree of satisfaction of leisure facilities was lower than neutral. The satisfaction of leisure facilities related with diversity of leisure facilities and program, and poor environment. 3) Subjects needed the facilities recommended in housing act including diverse leisure facilities such as sports center and resident's self government facilities. And they needed divers facilities for sports. 4) In terms of location, they needed leisure facilities which was closer to their house.

Model for the Structural Relationships of Safety Education by a Marine Leisure Sports Experience Center to First-Aid Coping Skills and Experience Satisfaction (해양레저스포츠 체험센터의 안전교육이 응급처치 대처능력 및 체험만족도에 관한 구조적 관계 모형)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify a model for the structural relationships of safety education provided by a marine leisure sports experience center to first-aid coping skills and experience satisfaction. 307 male and female customers who used a marine leisure sports experience center located in the city of S-si, K-do Province, were investigated from June 15 to August 30, 2017. The collected data were statistically analyzed by SPSS/PC+ 20.0 and Amos 16.0. The findings of the study were as follows: First, the safety education offered by the marine leisure sports experience center was found to have affected first-aid coping skills(t=3.425, p<.001). Second, the safety education by the marine leisure sports experience center was found to have exerted an influence on experience satisfaction(t=3.751, p<.001). Third, the first-aid coping skills of the marine leisure sports experience center was found to have had an impact on experience satisfaction(t=6.781, p<.001). The measurement model for the hypothesis test in this study was found to be appropriate(GFI=.978, NFI=993, CFI=984). Given the findings of the study, more extended safety education is expected to be effective, as customers who use marine leisure sports experience centers will be able to enjoy marine leisure sports more safely and improve their quality of life when they are compulsorily required to receive safety education.

Structural Relationship among Health Concern, Leisure Sports Passion and Psychological Happiness for Simulation Golf Participants (시뮬레이션골프 참여자의 건강관심도와 여가스포츠열정 및 심리적 행복감의 간의 구조적 관계)

  • The study aimed to verity the relationship of between health concern, leisure sports passion, and psychological happiness on screen golf participants. The subject of study who adults were recruited from Seoul, Gyeonggi-do. I conducted frequency, reliability, confirmatory factor, correction, and structure equaling modeling analyses. The results were as follows: (1) health concern of screen golf participants had a positive influence on leisure sports passion(harmonious passion); (2) health concern of screen golf participants had a positive influence on leisure sports passion(obsessive passion); (3) health concern of screen golf participants had a positive influence on psychological happiness; (4) leisure sports passion(harmonious passion) of screen golf participants had a positive influence on psychological happiness; (5) leisure sports passion(obsessive passion) of screen golf participants had no influence on psychological happiness. The result is meaningful in that modern people who value health have sought ways to lead a healthy life by raising their athletic passion through the fun of simulation golf.
