일개 대학교 신입생과 예비졸업생의 우울수준과 그 관련요인 - 영적안녕과 신앙성숙도를 중심으로 (Depressive Symptom and Its Associates in College Freshmen and Seniors - Focus on Spiritual Well-being and Faith Maturity)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to compare the level of depressive symptom, spiritual well-being and faith maturity between college freshmen and seniors and to investigate the affecting factors on their depressive symptom. Methods: The study was cross-sectional descriptive survey. A self-report questionnaire were used to collect data from 335 college students during June to July, 2010. Data were analyzed by ${\chi}^2$-test, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using the SPSS/WIN 14.0 program. Results: The mean score of depressive symptom was $17.55{\pm}11.24$ and prevalence of depression was 26.5% in college freshmen. And those in college seniors were $14.18{\pm}14.17$ and 17.4%. And those were significantly higher in college freshmen than in seniors. The depressive symptom was a significant negative correlation with spiritual well-being, existential spiritual well-being, religious spiritual well-being, and faith maturity. Factors significantly influencing on depression in college freshmen included existential spiritual well-being, subjective health status, age, and confidence of salvation ($R^2$=49.7%). And those in college seniors included existential spiritual well-being and life satisfaction ($R^2$=53.3%). Conclusion: The counseling program and spirituality development program for preventing depression considering these affecting factors for especially college freshmen are necessary.

골수이식생존자의 삶의 질 의미 (The Meaning of Quality of Life for Bone Marrow Transplant Survivors)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the concept of quality of life for bone marrow transplant (BMT) survivors and to gain understanding of nursing interventions that may improve QOL in this population. The data was gathered from 32 BMT survivors using seven open-ended questions. The items were based on previous research of Ferrell et al., (1992). Content analysis was performed on written responses to seven questions regarding BMT and QOL. The results were as follows : 1. The meaning of QOL for BMT survivors were "being healt", "being able to take a role", "having relationships", "self-accomplishment", "peace of mind", "spiritual well-being", "economic stability" and "being alive". 2. The impact of BMT on physical well-being were "skin impairment", "digestive problems", "infections ", "fatigue/weakness", "arthralgia", "eye dryness". "weight gain", "amenorrhea" and "hand tremor". 3. The impact of BMT on psychological well-being were "fear of recurrence", "sence of peace" and "hope". 4. The impact of BMT on socioeconomic status were "financial burden", "limitation of social activities" and "sence of withdrawal". 5. The impact of BMT on spiritual well-being were "dependency on Supreme Being", "spiritual arousal " and "spiritual maturity". The findings of the study will be useful in constructing a instrument to measure QOL in BMT and in understanding the conceptual basis of QOL for the BMT population.ency on Supreme Being", "spiritual arousal " and "spiritual maturity". 암환자의 기독교신앙성숙과 불안과의 관계 연구 (The Relationship Between Maturity of Christian Faith and Anxiety of Patients with Cancer)

  • The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the maturity of Christian faith and anxiety. Nurses are concerned with the spiritual dimension of clients' experience. The subjects of this study were patients with cancer in Y. University Hospital in Seoul Subjects were selected who knew their diagnosis, were aged 20 or older and agreed to the interview. A total of 35 patients were interviewed from August 1 to September 15, 1988. The instruments used in this study were the maturity of Christian faith scale developed by H.S. Choi and modified by the investigator, and an anxiety scale developed by the investigator. Data were analyzed by statistical methods including Frequency, ANOVA, and Pearson Correlation Coefficient. Results included the following : Hypothesis, “That as the degree of maturity of Christian faith of the patients increases, the degree of state anxiety will decreases”, was supported (${\gamma}$=-.8061, p<.001). According to this study, maturity of Christian faith is significantly related to on the reduction of anxiety of patients with cancer. In a holistic approach to their clients, nurses may have confidence that the maturity of Christian faith of their clients will contribute to the reduction of anxiety.

중년기 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도가 부부생활만족도에 미치는 영향분석연구 (A Influence Effect of Mid-life Religious Life and Faith Maturity on the Couples' Life Satisfaction)

  • 본 연구는 인생의 봄은 지나고 인생의 가을을 맞이하는 중년기부부관계는 결혼 전의 영향도 있지만 결혼 후에 발생하는 갈등요인이 더 많이 있다. 이유는 부부 사이의 태도와 안정되고 적절한 수입 그리고 종교 활동과 신앙성숙이 부부생활만족과의 깊은 관계가 있다고 본다. C. G. Jung은 인생의 전반기를 자기확산기로, 후반기는 자기수렴기로 구분하였는데, 자기 확산기에는 외부적.물질적 자아에 몰두하는 반면, 자기 수렴기에는 종교적 철학적 직관적 정신세계에 몰두해야만 인생전체가 균형과 통합을 이루는 중년기로 보았다. 이는 중년기의 발달과 심리적 위기를 잘 극복하고 보내면 노년기를 행복하게 맞는다. 본 연구는 중년기의 정의와 중년기의 발달특성, 중년기에서의 종교와 종교에서의 부부관계와 중년기 부부변화가 무엇인가를 연구한 후 종교에 대한 이해를 중점으로 중년기부부 생활만족도에 대한 이론들을 문헌연구로 제시하였다. 양적연구는 중년기 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도의 변인들이 중년기 부부생활만족도에 미치는 영향을 분석하기 위해 서울 및 수도권 내에 있는 35세 부터 60세 까지의 중년기를 연구대상으로, 2009년 3월 25일 부터 4월30일 까지 400명에게 중년기 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도 그리고 부부생활만족도 등을 설문하고 통계 처리하여 결과를 분석하였다. 첫째, 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도의 관계에서 신앙성숙도의 봉사, 관계, 영성은 종교활동에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 보였다. 이 결과는 영성적, 개인적, 공식적종교 활동은 신앙성숙도에 영향이 있음을 말한다. 둘째, 종교 활동에 따른 신앙성숙도와 부부생활만족도의 관계에서 종교 활동(t=31.36, p<.001)이 신앙성숙도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것과 종교활동(t=33.81, p<.001)이 부부생활만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것, 그리고 신앙성숙도(t=28.64, p<.001)가 부부생활만족도에 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 종교 활동에 따른 신앙성숙도와 부부생활만족도에는 인과관계가 있음을 말한다. 셋째, 중년기 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도와 부부생활만족도의 관계에서 부부생활만족도에 대해서 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도 사이에 주요효과를 분석한 결과 종교 활동(F=15.95, p<.001)과 신앙성숙도(F=23.94, p<.001)는 부부생활만족도에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 보였다. 이러한 연구결과는 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도와 부부생활만족도 사이에 관계성이 높은 것으로 기독교 불교 천주교의 종교 활동과 신앙성숙도가 중년기 부부생활만족도에 중요한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있다.

기독교인의 코로나19 건강예방행위 영향 요인 (Influencing Factors of Christians' COVID-19 Health Prevention Behavior)

  • The purpose of this study is a descriptive research study to analyze the factors that affect Christians' COVID-19 preventive behavior. The subjects of the study were 262 adult Christians, and the data collected were using SPSS 25.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. As a result of the study, the subject's religious maturity level was 4.21 ± .55 points out of 5 points, COVID-19 stress was 2.86 ± .73 points out of 5 points, optimism bias was 2.94 ± 1.26 points out of 7 points, and COVID-19 preventive health behavior was 4 points. The total score was 3. 54 ± . 44 points. As a result of the correlation analysis of the subject's religious maturity, COVID-19 stress, optimistic bias, and COVID-19 preventive health behaviors, COVID-19 preventive health behaviors were faith maturity (r=.156, p=.012), COVID-19 stress (r=.216, There was a positive correlation with optimism bias (r=174, p=.005). In conclusion, it can be said that the higher the religious maturity, the higher the COVID-19 stress, and the higher the optimistic bias, the better the preventive health behavior of COVID-19, and the explanatory power of the overall model was 9.4%. In the post-COVID-19 era, it is necessary to develop educational programs that can prevent infectious diseases and promote health in the community.

회복기 마약중독자의 영성 체험에 관한 연구 -기독교·가톨릭인 회복자를 중심으로- (A Study on Spirituality Experience of Recovering Drug Addicts)

  • 이 연구는 회복기 마약중독자의 영성 체험의 의미를 총체적으로 이해하여 이들을 지원하기 위한 정책적, 실천적 시사점을 도출하는데 이 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 Giorgi의 현상학적 연구방법을 활용하여 5명의 연구 참여자를 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 자료 분석결과, 이들의 영성 체험은 '신적 존재와의 관계 체험', '내재적 초월 경험'이란 2가지 본질 주제로 나타났다. 그리고 '신적 존재와의 관계 체험'이란 본질 주제는 '두렵고 무서운 존재', '매달리는 대상', '품어주는 존재'란 3가지 하위 주제로 도출되었으며, '내재적 초월 경험'은 '실존의 직면', '심리적 재구성', '정신적 성숙', '혼자서가야 하는 길' 이란 4가지 하위 주제로 개념화되었다. 이를 기반으로 이 연구는 회복기 마약중독자들의 영성 체험은 종교 그 자체가 이들의 영성체험에 상당한 영향력을 발휘하고 있다는 점, 이들의 영성체험은 인간성 회복과 밀접하게 연관되어 있다는 점, 그리고 '신적 존재와의 관계 체험'과 '내재적 초월 경험'이란 영성 체험의 2가지 본질적 주제가 상호 순환적 관계 속에서 서로 유기적으로 영향을 미치고 있다는 점을 시사 받을 수 있었다. 이를 토대로 사회복지계가 숙고해 볼 수 있는 회복기 마약중독자들을 위한 개입 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

라마즈 출산교육 참여자의 분만경험 (Childbirth Experience of Participants in Lamaze Childbirth Education)

  • Purpose: This study was intended to explore the essential structure and the meanings of childbirth experiences among Korean women participated in Lamaze childbirth education. Methods: Giorgi's phenomenological method was used to analyze data collected by in-depth interviews with six primiparous women from March to July 2009. Results: Five components identified in the meanings of experience: 'Simplicity', 'Self-control', 'Uncontrollable pain', 'Spiritual maturity', 'Physiologic event'. Conclusion: The study results revealed that the childbirth experience was positive generally, partially influenced by Lamaze childbirth education. But, meanings of childbirth experience with Lamaze childbirth education were mostly physiological respect related to labor pain or one's own efforts to endure labor pain. Therefore, nursing strategies for drawing emotional and socio-environmental experiences from childbirth experience with Lamaze childbirth education is needed.

크리스티나 로제티의 『모드』 : 빅토리아 시대 시인의 자기 단념과 자기표현 (Christina Rossetti's Maude : Self-Abnegation and Self-Expression of a Victorian Poet)

  • Christina Rossetti's novella Maude displays Tractarian influences in terms of Holy Eucharist, Puseyism, and the doctrine of Reserve. Tractarianism is High Church revival movement of nineteenth century. In the story a teenage girl, Maude went through hard time receiving Holy Eucharist due to self-consciousness and internal guilt according to Puseyism. She felt guilty when she enjoyed worldly things and outward beauty. Due to guilt Maude refused to receive Holy Communion, which is complete connection to God. Her cousin, Agnes suggested that in refusing Holy Communion Maude is following her own will not God's will. Later Maude overcame Puseyite thought of self-hatred and reconciled with her identity as a poet and a woman. Maude oscillates between concealing and revealing, secrecy and truth, sincerity and affectation, and modesty and display. Her marvelous poetic talent makes people praise her but she withholds private feelings and attempts to divert attention from herself. Like Maude herself, the meaning of her poems is at times reserved and withheld. This tendency goes with the doctrine of Reserve in Tractarianism. The doctrine of Reserve utilizes indirect methods to reveal divine attributes because finite human being can not accept infinite God. The doctrine of Reserve sees to it that the expression will be veiled, indirect, subdued and self-effacing. Rossetti adapts a poetic method of Reserve when Maude has anxiety over 'display and poetry' and generates the reticence, secrecy, mystery, renunciation, modesty and detachment. According to Mary Arseneau, by veiling and expressing herself through symbols she can rise above the self and employ the phenomenal to suggest a noumenal reality. Thus the poetry becomes an expression of longing for the divine. The poem "Three Nuns" exemplifies Maude's maturity and gradual progress in the relationship with God. Rossetti suggests the vision full of hopes and promises of reuniting with God. In conclusion, in some sense, authoritative and conservative Tractarianism affects Rossetti both ways. On the one hand, it makes Rossetti abnegate herself and leads her to asceticism, on the other hand, it makes Rossetti express her faith in God and write amazing devotional poems such as "Three Nuns". A poem within the poem has three voices that are in perfect harmony. In the poem the first and second nun show hesitation to fully commit to God's will and the desire for the world prevents them from having heavenly joy. Third nun reveals spiritual maturity and sings new life in God where their hopes and joys begin. Rossetti expresses the procedure of spiritual growth through the poem "Three Nuns". For Rossetti, self-abnegation and self-expression both are involved in the doctrine of Reserve, Puseyism and Holy Communion.

간호사가 지각하는 죽음에 대한 인식과 삶의 의미 (Nurses' Awareness of Death and Meaning of Life)

  • Purpose: This study was done to investigate nurses' awareness of death and the meaning of life and identify factors influencing the meaning of life. Methods: Participants were 198 women nurses who had experienced the death of patients. They answered a self-administered questionnaire including demographics, awareness of death scale and meaning in life II scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheff$\acute{e}$ test, and multiple regression (enter method). Results: The average score for awareness of death was $127.3{\pm}10.14$. This score is moderate not biased toward positive or negative. The average score for meaning of life was $130.3{\pm}9.42$ with 51% for loss steps, 45.5% for pursuit steps and 3.5% for discovery steps to the meaning of life. Factors affecting the meaning of life were religion, Buddhism (${\beta}=6.25$, p=.015) or Atheist (${\beta}=5.91$, p=.017), educational level, Master's or higher (${\beta}=16.22$, p=.003), work department, special department (${\beta}=3.49$, p=.017). Conclusions: Results of the study indicate a need to provide nursing programs that will promote nurses' spiritual and inner maturity.

간호사의 정서적 지지 경험 (Experience on Emotional Support of Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: This study was designed to explore what experiences nurses had while caring and providing emotional support for patients. Methods: Participants were eight nurses working at hospitals for more than one year. Data were collected from June, 2006 to January, 2007 through in-depth interview by using tape-recordings. Data were analysed with the phenomenological method proposed by Colazzi(1978). Results: From significant statements, 4 clustered themes, 7 themes and 23 sub-themes were extracted from the essential meaning of the emotional experience of hospital nurses. The 4 clustered themes were 'movement of mind', 'affection and service for patients', 'worthwhile and conflict' and 'control oneself'. The 7 themes were 'special feeling', 'rapport formation', 'consideration', 'human interaction', 'value discovery', 'loss of volition', and 'keep to balance'. Conclusion: Although nurses had tough experiences for providing care for patients' emotional support, they had also experienced spiritual maturity from its experience. The result of this study would contribute for nurses not only to care for patients who need emotional support but also to develop knowledge in nursing.
