This study examined changes in dietary life and dietary life satisfaction in one-person households during the COVID-19 pandemic. Using a sample of 916 one-person households from the Food Consumption Behavior Survey, we applied ANOVA and a system of equations model for our analysis which produced four main results. Firstly, during the COVID-19 pandemic, eating homemade and delivered meals increased, whereas eating restaurant, group, and HMR meals decreased. Eating breakfast and regular eating habits also increased during the pandemic. Secondly, approximately 30% of the sample reported increased expenditure on fresh food and HMR meals. The proportion of positive changes in dietary life was also greater than negative changes, and dietary life satisfaction was about three times higher than it had been before the pandemic. Thirdly, having breakfast and regular eating fully mediated the relationship between spending on fresh food and dietary life satisfaction, as well as the relationship between HMR purchases and dietary life satisfaction. Changes in expenditure on fresh food and HMR meals positively affected dietary life satisfaction through eating breakfast and regular eating. Fourthly, increased consumption of delivered food had a positive direct effect on dietary life satisfaction. Among sociodemographic variables, gender, education, occupation, and age were also significantly related to changes in dietary life satisfaction.

This study was conducted on 419 middle school students (214 boys, 205 girls) in order to examine the general aspects, dietary habits, and performance of the school food services available to them in the Chungnam area. The mean age of the subjects was 15.1 years. The average heights and weights were 164.5 cm and 55.6 kg for boys and 158.9 cm and 49.4 kg for girls, respectively. The influence of parents was found to have a significant effect on the students' nutritional knowledge. Exactly 45.1% of subjects said that they needed time for nutritional education, and 54.2% of subjects answered that they have not received any nutritional education. The amount of spending money and expenditures for snacks per month were positively correlated with family income. Breakfast was skipped more than once per week in more than half of all students. Exactly 40.5% of subjects were satisfied with their schools' food services. As food services are more likely to correct unbalanced diets and provide an incentive for change towards better dietary habits, school food services can play a role in correcting unbalanced dietary behaviors.
The purpose of this study was to determine the relationships between table attitudes(or table manners), nutrition knowledge, eating/snacking habits, and BMI in elementary school children. For the study, 350 [4~6th grade] elementary students were recruited and surveyed. Each response for 10 questions regarding table attitudes was scored by a 5-point scale(5 points=strongly agreed & 1 point=strongly disagreed) with a total score of 50. The reliability of 10 questions about nutrition knowledge was validated using Cronbach's ${\alpha}$(Cronbach's ${\alpha}$=0.80). Total scores for table attitudes were significantly different between the boys and girls(p<0.05). The total score for nutrition knowledge was significantly higher in the girls(7.67/10.0), compared to the boys(7.35/10.0)(p<0.05). The children showed high rates of incorrect answers in questions regarding the function or importance of specific nutrients. No significant differences between the boys and girls were found for places of snack purchase, or pocket money/day. Most of the children answered spending less than 800 won of pocket money per day. More boys preferred meals with meats and disliked Kimchi and vegetables compared to girls, and the differences were statistically significant. The score for table attitudes was significantly and negatively correlated with nutrition knowledge and gender. No significant correlations between BMI and table attitudes or nutrition knowledge were shown.
This study attempts to analyse the food consumption expenditure patterns of wage-Earner's Households n terms of the changes in income during 1975∼1985. For the purpose of these time-series analysis and cross-section analysis, household survey data 'Annual Report on the Family Income and Expenditure Survey'- was used. The main results can be summarized as follows : 1. The proportion of the food expenditures has decreased with the increased of income in the city families during 1975∼1985. The Income-Elasticity and limit spending habits has decreased with the increase of income in the city families during 1975∼1985. 2. Analyzing the structure of the food consumption of each income class, the results reflected the Engel's law. That is to say, the higher income was, the more absolute expense for food was, but the rate of it was.

The results of this study were as follows: 1. Variables influencing value orientation of family life were property and the price of housing. 2. The purpose of this study was to analysis housing life styles of apartment dwellers by alteration in Ulsan, got hold of the influencing variables of housing life styles and indicated source materials about the plan of alteration of apartment dwellers. As a methodology for this study, questionnaire survey were used. The number of 228 cases were analyzed through SPSS PC+. For the analysis of the data, such techniques were used as reliability analysis, frequence analysis, factor analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis.The major findings of this study were as followings: 1. Housing life styles of apartment dwellers by alteration in Ulsan identified five factors. In order of decreasing importance, these factors included: i)practicality, ii)ornament, iii)the faculty of space, iv) actuality, and v) spending habits. 2. The size of a family, wife's education, income, cost of alteration, and the area of installment sale were the most significant factors that influenced housing life styles of apartment dwellers by alteration in Ulsan.
The purpose of this study is to analyze Adolescents spending habits and examine it. The data was collected from 1125 high school students and their parents nationwide. The resets are as follows. 1. About seventy eight percent of the responded students own relatively high-priced goods such as brand-name jeans (59.1%), a mobile phone (31.9%), perfume with a price of 50,000 won or more (26.5%), CD Player (24.4%) or electronic pocket diary (17.1%). The percentage varies according to region. 2. The Adolescents tendency for conspicuous consumption is reflected by 2.92 points out of a total 5 points, while their mothers'marks 2.18 points. By region, conspicuous consumption behavior is more common in Seoul than in other small and medium-sized cities and towns. Also, the more mother attribute children's behavior internally, the lower the childeren's competence is.
The aim of this study is having the status, knowledge and attitude of the high school attendees toward smoking be analyzed, helping to make effective health education methods to diminish adolescent smoking habits. The field self-questionnaire investigation has been performed from Oct 10th through 23rd in 1999. The whole 427 cases were distributed to 1st and 2nd grade students of randomly selected men's high school in Seoul. And 414 cases (97%) were finally selected for analysis after exclusion of cases with insufficient information. The main contents of questionnaire are composed of several sectors; the general characteristics of the interviewees, the relationship with parents, the life style and the peer relationship in school. And smoking-related characteristics are taken into consideration, too. The major findings of the study are as follows: The smoking/non-smoking related factors are, in socio-demographical terms, the grade, average spending per month of the interviewees. And the degree of satisfactory relationship with parents is significant on smoking behavior. The higher, the degree of satisfaction on school life and relationship with designated teacher, the more chances of non-smoking habit. Poor academic grades and peer group dependability of interviewees cause higher smoking habit rate in other way. The self-interviewees grade and cohabitation with parents are also significant on both the attitude toward smoking habit and the knowledge on smoking statistically. The academic history and vocations of the parents and the academic grades of interviewees are also effective variables, but don't make any gap between groups knowledge on smoking. Smoking groups used to have positive attitude toward smoking habit. Both the attitude and knowledge on smoking by the consideration of Quit-smoking have statistically significance. The groups which have negative attitude and high knowledge on smoking quit-smoking into consideration. And the primary cause of quit-smoking is on health by smoking. Depression, stress, adult smoking in the house, peer group pressure, cigarettes advertisements on papers and magazines and smoking scenes on TV have positive correlation on forming smoking habit (p〈0.001) But the knowledge on diseases triggered by smoking has negative correlation on forming smoking habit. (p〈0.05, p〈0.001). Social factors as monthly spending, relationship and communication with parents, the degree of satisfaction in school life, academic grades and student-teacher relationship have crucial negative correlation on smoking habit. That is to say, the higher, the monthly spending is, the worse, the relationship with parents and teachers is, the lower, the academic grades of the student is, the percentage of the interviewees who have smoking habit seems to get higher.

Background: In this study we aimed to determine the rate and habitual patterns of smoking, intentions of cessation, dependence levels and sociodemographic characteristics of relatives of patients with a diagnosis of cancer. Materials and Methods: This study was designed by the Turkish Oncology Group, Epidemiology and Prevention Subgroup. The relatives of cancer patients were asked to fill a questionnaire and Fagerstrom test of nicotine dependence. Results: The median ages of those with lower and higher Fagerstrom scores were 40 years and 42 years, respectively. We found no evidence of variation between the two groups for the remaining sociodemographic variables, including the subject's medical status, gender, living in the same house with the patient, their educational status, their family income, closeness to their cancer patients or spending time with them or getting any help or wanting to get some help. Only 2% of the subjects started smoking after cancer was diagnosed in their loved ones and almost 20% of subjects had quit smoking during the previous year. Conclusions: The Fagerstrom score is helpful in determining who would be the most likely to benefit from a cigarette smoking cessation program. Identification of these people with proper screening methods might help us to pinpoint who would benefit most from these programs.
The eating attitudes, opinions related to health and eating habits of 382 middle school students (184 male, 198 female) living in Seoul Gangbuk and Yangphyung areas were studied. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Most middle school students (57.6%) didn’t eat breakfast. The main reasons for skipping the meal were lack of time (51.5%) and of appetite (39.3%). However, students (36.7%) recognized breakfast as being the most important meal. The self perception of health status showed that male students responded ‘good’ (58.7%) while female students responded ‘fair’ (48.5%). Overall, 42.4% of the male students were satisfied with their body shape while 71.2% of the female students wanted to get thinner. More male students (76.4%) used various diet exercises for losing weight than female students (67.0%). Students living in Yangpyeung area (79.1%) used more diet exercises than those in Seoul (61.9%). More than half (57.3%) of middle school students did not consider their food combination. More than half (56.0%) of male students took vegetables almost every meal while 50.1% of female students took them one meal per day. Most of the middle school students took fruits more than 2-3 times per week. Students living in Yangpyeung area (58.0%) consumed more milk and than those in Seoul Gangbuk (43.4%). Male students preferred saltier food than female students. The eating habit scores were 1.90 in males and 1.85 in females and these scores were increased with increasing family monthly food spending.
