Memory management in hihg-speed viterbi decoders (고속 Viterbi 복호기를 위한 메모리 관리)

  • Memory management is one of the most important problems in implementing viterbi decoders. This paper introduces a novel traceback scheme for memory management of high-speed viterbi decoders. The new method balances the read and the write oeprations by inserting dummy write operations into the traceback process, resulting in simpler memory access schemes. It is suitable for VLSI implementation since it uses minimal memory requirements, it does not need global interconnections, and its address genration shceme for accessig memory contents is very simple.

  • Network Control Platform(NCP) and Qualify of Service Switch(QSS) are being developed to realize centralized control and management technology, which is essential for guaranteeing traffic engineering and service quality in a next generation network. This paper adopts a parallel mechanism, and a thread and object pool to achieve high-speed connection management in the existing SNMP interface between NCP and QSS. We built up a connection management test-bed in laboratory environment to validate the functionality of high-speed connection management. We also measured and analyzed a performance of connection setup delay and a completion ratio using the test-bed. We ascertain that the parallel mechanism and the object pool are the most important performance parameters to achieve high-speed connection management in the SNMP interface between NCP and QSS.

  • The general situation of system composition and safety management of high-speed railway terminal is investigated and a comprehensive evaluation index system of operational security is established on the basis of railway laws and regulations and previous research results to evaluate the operational security management of the high-speed railway terminal objectively and scientifically. Index weight is determined by introducing interval eigenvalue method (IEM), which aims to reduce the dependence of judgment matrix on consistency test and improve judgment accuracy. Operational security status of a high-speed railway terminal in northwest China is analyzed using the traditional model of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, and a general technique idea and references for the operational security evaluation of the high-speed railway terminal are provided. IEM is introduced to determine the weight of each index, overcomes shortcomings of traditional analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method, and improves the accuracy and scientificity of the comprehensive evaluation. Risk factors, such as terrorist attacks, bad weather, and building fires, are intentionally avoided in the selection of evaluation indicators due to the complexity of risk factors in the operation of high-speed railway passenger stations and limitation of the length of the paper. However, such risk factors should be considered in the follow-up studies.

  • Organizations today depend and thrive on timely, accurate and strategically relevant information. Business analytics (BA) holds the key to many of these issues. This paper validates a model on how the usage of BA leads to operational efficiency. We identified the factors of basic analytical usage from the Business Capacity Maturity Model (BCMM). The scope of the study is restricted to the Information Technology Infrastructure and Application management domain. A survey was conducted among the managers of the IT companies in Bengaluru, India. The results showed a significant influence of data-oriented culture and BA tools and infrastructure on BA usage. We found a significant influence of BA usage and pervasive use on operational efficiency. The speed to insight is still not practised in organizations. The awareness level of analytical skills in organizations is very low.

  • A Korea next-generation high-speed rail system represents a typical example of large- scale multi-disciplinary systems, consisting of subsystems such as train, electrical hardware, electronics, control, Information, communication, civil technology etc. The system design and acquisition data of the large-scale system must be the subject under strict configuration control and management. The system therefore, must be developed using systems engineering that is a efficient and effective methodology to design such a complex system and manage its development. This paper presents the results from a computer-aided systems engineering application to the Korea next generation high-speed railway project. Especially, the focus of the study was on requirement management and PBS management.

  • Present maintenance of a high speed railway is after the fack maintenance that executes a task when measured value goes over threshold value except some planned maintenance. It is difficult from efficient management of maintenance human resource and equipment commitment because it is difficult to predict quantity of maintenance targets. Corrective maintenance is pushed back on the repair priority of other target to need repair and it is exceeded repair cost potentially. For safety and dependable track management because track deterioration prediction is linked directly with track's life and safety of train service, it is very important that track management be based on preventive maintenance. In this study, we propose statistics model of track quality to use track inspection data and forecast model for track deterioration prediction.

  • Recently existing the road traffic low is requlated by hump standard, which is established throuth the actual england TRRL(Transpodt and Road Research Laboratory) experiment. The determined standard has been utilized, however, wihtout the test on of our street and its drivers driving characteristics. Even with the utilization, the appropriate before and after management, is not constituted. In Spite of minimum speed limit, in many case, the utilization itself is questionalble rather than the purpose of restraining speed limit or reducing vehicle confacts. Along with hump consideration, social attention is focused due to series of personal law suit(traffic accident) field against the negligence of local organization management. Therefore counter measure of safe transportation facility is urgently required. With consideration of above background, the purpose of this research is to develop the hump that is appropriate with our transportation environment. This can be achieved thr ugh analysis of hump effectiveness, examination of drivers awamess, facilitation/management problems, and various problems in verticle acceleration.

  • Tilting train has been developed to increase the operational speed of the trains on conventional lines which have many curves. The train are tilted at curves to compensate for unbalanced carbody centrifugal acceleration to a greater extent than compensation produced by the track cant, so that passengers do not feel centrifugal acceleration and thus trains can run at higher speed at curves. This paper developed PDM(product data management) to make a system engineering of TTX(Tilting Train eXpress) with maximum operation speed of 180 km/h.
