유압구동식 선박용 축발전장치의 정속제어 (Constant Speed Control of Shaft Generating System Driven by Hydrostatic Transmission for Ship Use)

  • This study suggests a new type shaft generating system driven by hydrostatic transmission suitable for small size vessels. Since the shaft generating system is affected ceaselessly by disturbances such as speed variation in pump driving speed and variation in external load, a robust servo control must be implemented to obtain stable electric power with constant frequency. Thus, in this study, a digital robust servo control algorithm is applied to the controller design. By the experiment and the numerical computation, the frequency variation characteristics of the generating system under various disturbances are investigated. Conclusively, it is said that the shaft generating system proposed in this study shows excellent control performances.

절삭저항을 고려한 툴 인터페이스부의 정강성 분석 (A Study on Static Stiffness of Tool Interfaces Considering Cutting Resistance)

  • Spindle units of machine tool are very important part in the manufacturing area. Recently high speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. To develop high speed machine tools, a lot of studies have been carried out for high speed spindle. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, there has been renewal of interest in tooling system of high speed spindle. This paper concerns the static stiffness in the main spindle interface according to variation of clamping force, rotational speed and tool holder shank. Finite element analysis is performed by using a commercial code ANSYS workbench. From the results, it has been shown that the geometry of tool holder shank is mostly influence on the variation of the static stiffness in the main spindle interface.

엔진회전속도의 변화가 HCCI엔진연소에 미치는 영향에 관한 수치해석 연구 (The Research about Engine Speed change Effect on HCCI Engine Combustion by Numerical Analysis)

  • In HCCI Engine, combustion is affected by change of compression speed corresponding to engine speed. The purpose of this study is to investigate the mechanism of influence of engine speed on HCCI combustion characteristics by using numerical analysis. At first, the influence of engine speed was shown. And then, in order to clarify the mechanism of influence of engine speed, results of kinetics computations were analyzed to investigate the elementary reaction path for heat release at transient temperatures by using contribution matrix. In results, as engine speed increased, in-cylinder gas temperature and pressure at ignition start increased. And ignition start timing was retarded and combustion duration was lengthened on crank angle basis. On time basis, ignition start timing was advanced and combustion duration was shortened. High engine speed showed higher robustness to change of initial temperature than low engine speed. Because of its high robustness, selecting high engine speed was efficient for keeping stable operation in real engine which include variation of initial temperature by various factors. The variation of engine speed did not change the reaction path. But, as engine speed increased, the temperature that each elementary reaction would be active became high and reaction speed quicken. Rising the in-cylinder gas temperature of combustion start was caused by these gaps of temperature.

Experimental Study on the Characteristics of Pressure Variation of KTX Passing Through Tunnel

  • Experimental study has been conducted to clarify the internal and external pressure variation characteristics for KTX(Korea Train eXpress) passing through tunnel. Abrupt pressure variation gives rise to the ear-discomfort for passenger and fatigue for car body. In this study, the internal and external pressure variation are measured by using KTX real train experiment and on-board portable data acquisition system in Gyeongbu high speed commercial line. The tunnels from 200 m to 4000 m in length are chosen for the investigation of tunnel length effects. From the results of experiment, the internal pressure variation rate for all the test tunnels is lower than the standard criteria of 200 Pa/s. And, the critical tunnel lengths for pressure wave pattern are classified into 7 groups by using the theoretical L-t diagram analysis.

  • This paper relates to a method of modeling the thrust dynamic load caused by the thrust variation occurring on the blade due to the tower shadow below the rated wind speed. A method that uses thrust coefficient is presented by introducing "tower shadow coefficient of thrust variation". For a 2MW wind turbine, the values of "tower shadow coefficient of thrust variation" are calculated and analyzed at wind speeds below the rated. The dynamic load model of thrust under tower shadow is evaluated in Matlab/Simulink using the obtained "tower shadow coefficient of thrust variation" and thrust coefficient. It shows that the thrust variations acting on the three blades by the tower shadow can be expressed using both the thrust coefficient and the introduced "tower shadow coefficient of thrust variation".

  • The conventional PI controller are fragile in parameter variation and load-variation. Therefore, in this paper, a speed control algorithm based on the Fuzzy PI controller is proposed for the high performance speed control of a voltage-source inverter to drive 3-phase induction motors. The computer simulation results show that the proposed controller are more excellent control characteristics than conventional PI controller in transient-state and steady-state response.

  • In this paper, a robust speed controller considering the effect of uncertainty (plant parameter variation. external load disturbance. unmodeled and nonlinear dynamics etc..) for induction motor is proposed. Firstly. the dynamic model at nominal case of induction motor is estimated. Based on the estimated model. the IPSC ( Integral - Proportional Speed Controller) is designed. Then a DTRC (Dead-time Robust Controller) combining DTC ( Dead-time Compensator) & SRC (Simple Robust Controller) is designed to reduce the effects of parameter variation and external disturbance. Some simulated results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller.

  • This paper proposes a robust speed control algorithm of Induction Motor. The main idea of this paper is to compensate the torque component of motor current with load torque observer and feedforward control. The speed response of the conventional PI controller is affected by variation of system parameters. However the proposed system has robust characteristics against the variation of system parameters. The simulation results and experiment prove the validity of proposed algorithm.

  • High speed machining has become the main issue of metal cutting. Due to increase of the rotational speed of the spindle, problems such as the run-out errors and reduced stiffness must be overcome to improve the machining accuracy. In order to solve the problems, it is important to determine the appropriate clamping unit and tooling system. This paper presents an investigation into an analysis of static stiffness in the main spindle interface. Finite element analysis is performed by using a commercial code ANSYS according to variation of cutting force, clamping force and rotational speed. From the finite element results, it is shown that the rotational speed and clamping force mostly influence on the variation of the static stiffness in the main spindle interface.

동해의 쓰시마난류 분포역에서 음속의 변동 (Variation of Sound Speed in the Tsushima Warm Current Region of the East Sea)

  • This study is to analyze the influence of the Tsushima Warm Current (TWC) on the variation of sound speed in the southern part of the East Sea. Sound speed is calculated by method of Chen and Millero (1977:, based on the CTD data measured in June of 1996. Sound speed in the central part of the TWC is about $45ms^{-1}$ more fast than that in the other regions without the TWC. Sound speed minimum layer (SML) in the TWC region exists between loom and 341 m, while it exists between 260m and 290m in the non-TWC region. SML distributes along the path of TWC over continental shelf in the coastal waters of Japan.
