스플릿 스펙트럼을 이용한 자동차 타이어 손상 검출에 관한 연구 (A Study of the Vehicle Tire Damage Detection using Split Spectrum Processing)

  • 주행 중인 자동차 타이어의 손상을 검출하기 위해 타이어에서 발생하는 초음파 신호에 대한 스플릿 스펙트럼 처리 알고리즘을 연구하였다. 스플릿 스펙트럼의 최대값을 추정하는 알고리즘을 사용하여 정상적인 타이어와 손상 물질에 의해 손상된 타이어에 대한 처리 결과를 비교하였다. 자기상관함수를 이용한 결과, 실험에 사용된 손상된 타이어에서는 주행속도 50km/h 일 때 162.9ms, 100km/h 일 때 84.81ms 주기로 손상 특이점을 검출 할 수 있었으며, 이에 의해 자동차 주행속도에 따른 손상 특징 점의 주기성을 이용하여 손상 물질에 의한 타이어의 손상 판단이 가능하였다.

GIS 감시진단용 다양한 센서를 적용한 PD 검출 및 패턴분석 결과 비교연구 (A Comparate Study for the PD Pattern Analysis using Different Type of Sensors Applicable to the On-line Monitoring of GIS)

  • Many precedent investigations hate been made for the reliable assessment of the insulation state of large power apparatus for which partial discharge detection is one of tile plausible way. In this work, experimental investigations have been carried out to make the comparison on the PD(partial discharge) pattern analysis related to the five different types of artificial defects such as SFMP (Single Free Moving Particle), MFMP (Multi Free Moving Particle), Void, CFP (Conductor-Fixed Protrusion), EP (Enclosure Protrusion). For each PD pattern, PD detection has been done by tee different types of PD sensors such as HFCT(High Frequency Current Transformer), AE(Acoustic Emission) and UHF(Ultra High Frequency). And, in addition, frequency spectrum by the UHF sensor has been also made for each defect respectively. As a result, it is observed that the possibility of obtaining PD pattern based on PRPD(Phase Resolved Partial Discharge) in connection with the defects tinder investigation is dependant on the type of the sensor while the spectrum analysis is always successful to be achieved for every defect. Therefore, it could be suggested that the nature of PD source can be identified more distinctively when the conventional PRPDA is combined with spectrum analysis.

Identification of High Frequency Peakers with long-term monitoring observation at 22 and 43 GHz

  • High Frequency Peakers (HFPs) are radio-loud Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN), which are regarded as being in the earliest evolutionary phase (102-103 years) of radio galaxies. They are expected to be small in size (< ~1 kpc) compared to their host galaxies (~a few 10s kpc), and have convex spectra, which are peaking at high radio frequency (> 5 GHz). Their size and spectral shape are the most obvious supporting evidence of extremely young ages. HFPs are therefore ideal targets to probe the earliest stage of radio sources. To date however, the young radio source classification has been relying mainly on the spectral shape which usually does not cover high enough frequencies where the true peak flux is located. Hence HFPs are often confused with blazars which may show a similar spectral shape and apparent compactness but are a somewhat evolved form of AGNs. Therefore, we have been challenging to identify HFPs among the sample of 19 candidates using the Korean VLBI Network (KVN) which enables us to extend the radio spectrum baseline up to 22 and 43 GHz. These are higher than the frequencies used in most previous studies of HFPs, allowing us to select genuine HFPs. By long-term monitoring of 18 epochs, we have also inspected the variability of the sample to select out blazars which are highly variable yet with a similar radio spectrum. In this work, we present the light curves and spectral properties of the HFP candidates. We discuss the results of our re-identification of HFPs.

Spectroscopic Characterization of Aqueous and Colloidal Am(III)-CO3 Complexes for Monitoring Species Evolution

  • Carbonates are inorganic ligands that are abundant in natural groundwater. They strongly influence radionuclide mobility by forming strong complexes, thereby increasing solubility and reducing soil absorption rates. We characterized the spectroscopic properties of Am(III)-carbonate species using UV-Vis absorption and time-resolved laser-induced fluorescence spectroscopy. The deconvoluted absorption spectra of aqueous Am(CO3)2- and Am(CO3)33- species were identified at red-shifted positions with lower molar absorption coefficients compared to the absorption spectrum of aqua Am3+. The luminescence spectrum of Am(CO3)33- was red-shifted from 688 nm for Am3+ to 695 nm with enhanced intensity and an extended lifetime. Colloidal Am(III)-carbonate compounds exhibited absorption at approximately 506 nm but had non-luminescent properties. Slow formation of colloidal particles was monitored based on the absorption spectral changes over the sample aging time. The experimental results showed that the solubility of Am(III) in carbonate solutions was higher than the predicted values from the thermodynamic constants in OECD-NEA reviews. These results emphasize the importance of kinetic parameters as well as thermodynamic constants to predict radionuclide migration. The identified spectroscopic properties of Am(III)-carbonate species enable monitoring time-dependent species evolution in addition to determining the thermodynamics of Am(III) in carbonate systems.

전자빔 용접에서 SVD을 이용한 온라인 모니터링 (On-line Monitoring Using SVD in a Electron Beam Welding)

  • Time series analysis results show the SVD is a candidate of on-line monitoring of welding penetration when the covariance matrix of a full penetration is used as a mapping function. As the reconstructed embedding vectors from the chaotic scalar time series are manipulated by the covariance matrix, the mapped tim series lie on a hyper-ellipsoid which the lengths of semi-axes are the squared eigenvalues of the covariance matrix in the case of full penetration. These visualize by two dimensional stroboscope views. The other cases like partial penetration, are different in the sense of sizes and shapes. Here we test two types of time series; the ion current and the X-ray. The ion current is better than the X-ray as an on-line monitoring signal, because the difference of the eigenvalue spectrum of the ion(between the pull penetration and partial penetration) is bigger than those of the X-ray.

Fault Diagnosis of Ball Bearings within Rotational Machines Using the Infrared Thermography Method

  • In this paper, the novel approach for the fault diagnosis of the bearing equipped with rotational mechanical facilities was studied. As research works, by applying the ball bearing used extensively in many industrial fields, experiments were conducted in order to propose the new prognostic method about the condition monitoring for the rotational bodies based on the condition analysis of infrared thermography. Also, by using the vibration spectrum analysis, the real time monitoring was performed. As results, it was confirmed that infrared thermography method could be adapted into monitor and diagnose the fault for bearing by evaluating quantitatively and qualitatively the temperature characteristics according to the condition of the ball bearing.

  • Ultraprecision machining and MEMS technology have been taken more and more important position in machining of microparts. Micro endmilling is one of the prominent technology that has wide spectrum of application field ranging from macro parts to micro products. Also, the method of micro-grooving using micro endmilling is used widely owing to many merit, but has problems of precision and quality of products due to tool wear and tool fracture. This investigation deals with state monitoring using acoustic emission(AE) signal in the micro-grooving. Characteristic evaluation of AE raw signal, AE hit and frequency analysis for state monitoring is also presented in the paper.

  • KMA established short period seismometer, accelerometer, and ocean bottom seismometer network to build the detail earthquake monitoring system and Tsunami monitoring system. KMA also replaced borehole seismometer and wave height meter monitoring system. The purposes of this study are to record the ambient seismic noise levels of short period seismometer and accelerometer installed in 2006 and 2007, and compare their characteristics to present the standard of site selection criteria.

  • Measurement of dynamic characteristics are widely used to detect defects in mechanical or civil structures. The most common approach is to measure changes in frequency spectrum or mode shapes using accelerometers. An alternative to using mode shapes is using stain modes. Strain is more sensitive to local defects than displacement, and hence stain modes measurement is an efficient in structural health monitoring. This paper deals with dynamic monitoring of a beam structure using strain sensors. Resistive strain gages and FBG strain gages are used and their characteristics are compared. It has been known that resistive strain gages are week to EMI environment and suffers from noise at high frequency range. It has been shown that the FBG sensor is a good alternative that overcomes such difficulties.

  • Many interference in blood should be considered for non-invasive blood glucose level monitoring by near-infrared spectroscopy because blood glucose concentration is about 0.1% (w/v) in normal state. In this study, we investigated the influence of other blood components on blood glucose level monitoring by near-infrared spectroscopy. It carried out by newly developed portable type-NIR system (1100∼2200 nm). Spectrum features of NIR diffuse spectral data were investigated for some blood compnents powder such as hemoglobin, blood serum albumin, urea, uric acid, ascorbate, glucose, cholesterol and as adding glucose powder into other blood components powder mixture.
