  • 3, 3'-Dipropyl oxacarbocyanine(DPC)와 poly(styrenesulfonate)(PSS)의 상호작용효과를 흡수 및 형광 분광학적 방법으로 연구하였으며, 이들 효과는 stacking model로 설명 되었다. DPC와 PSS 계의 상호작용에 대한 반응속도론적 고찰을 흡수 및 형광 정지흐름법에 의하여 연구하였다. DPP-PSS계의 이완효과는 두개의 이완과정을 가정함으로써 정량적으로 설명할 수 있었다. 또한 염효과에 의한 이완시간의 변화를 고찰하여 DPC-PSS계의 회합반응 메카니즘이 두 단계로 일어남을 설명할 수 있었다.

Photometric Reverberation Mapping of Active Galactic Nuclei with Medium-band filters and LSGT

  • Reverberation mapping is one of the best way to investigate structure and kinematics of broad-line regions around central supermassive black holes of active galactic nuclei (AGN). It is usually used to estimate masses of supermassive black holes. So far, reverberation mapping studies have achieved good results for dozens of AGN by spectroscopic monitoring. However, spectroscopic monitoring is time consuming and high cost. Here, we present result of photometric reverberation mapping with medium-band observation. We monitored five nearby AGN which are already studied, have short time-lag, and show bright H-alpha emission lines. Observation has been performed for ~3 months with ~3 days cadence using three medium-band filters installed in LSGT (Lee Sang Gak Telescope). We found 0.01-0.06 magnitude variations by differential photometry. Also time-lags between continuum light-curves and H-alpha emission line light-curves are calculated using Javelin software. The result shows that our study and previous studies are consistent within uncertainty range. From verification of availability in this study, photometric reverberation mapping could be used as a powerful tool to measure central supermassive black holes for large samples and high-redshift AGN in the future.

  • We present results of Raman spectroscopic studies of superconducting $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$ (YBCO) coated conductors. Raman scattering is used to characterize optical phonon modes, oxygen content, c-axis misalignment, and second phases of the YBCO coated conductors at a micro scale. A two-dimensional mapping of Raman spectra with transport properties has been performed to elucidate the effect of local propertied on current path and superconducting phase. The information taken from the local measurement will be useful for optimizing the process condition.

Synthesis, Spectroscopic Studies and Biological Applications of Organotin(IV) Derivatives of 3-[N-(4-Nitrophenyl)-amido]propenoic Acid and 3-[N-(4-Nitrophenyl)-amido]propanoic Acid

  • New organotin(IV) derivatives with general formulae R_2SnL_2 and R_3SnL, where R = methyl, n-butyl, n-octyl and phenyl and HL is either 3-[N-(4-nitrophenyl)amido]-propenoic acid or 3-[N-(4-nitrophenyl)amido] propanoic acid have been synthesized in 1 : 2 and 1 : 1 molar ratio by different methods. The FTIR spectra clearly demonstrated that the organotin(IV) moieties react with [O,O] atoms of the ligands. The bonding and coordination behavior in these complexes are discussed on the basis of multinuclear (^1H,\,^{13}C,\,^{119}Sn) NMR and mass spectrometric studies. Antibacterial, and antifungal screening tests were performed for these compounds and reported here. These values were compared to those of the precursors and it was found that diorganotin(IV) complexes exhibit less activity as compared to triorganotin(IV) complexes . LD_{50} data were obtained by Brine Shrimp assay method. Insecticidal activity was performed for selective compounds by contact toxicity method.

인이 첨가된 고온 . 고압 다이아몬드의 분광학적 특성 (Spectroscopic Characterization of Phosphorus Doped HPHT Diamond)

  • 인은 다이아몬드 내에 함유될 수 있는 흥미로운 불순물 중의 하나로서 n 타입의 반도체가 될 수 있다는 점에서 흥미롭다. 그러므로 전기적 특성 및 광학적 특성이 많이 연구되고 있지만, 대부분이 CVD (화학 기상합성) 다이아몬드에 관한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 인을 첨가한 HPHT (고압과 고온) 다이아몬드를 합성하고 인이 어떻게 함유되는가 알아보기 위하여 CL 분광기로 광학적 특성을 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 기존에 발견된 발광피크(239 nm, 240~270 nm)뿐만 아니라 248, 603 nm에서 새로운 발광피크가 발견되었다. 이러한 발광피크들은 인과 같이 혼입된 질소나 붕소와 같은 불순물이 공존하여 발생한 복합 결함에 의한 것이라고 판단된다.

  • Sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) 존재하에서 유기색소인 thionine (TH)의 흡수 및 형광분광학적 성질을 조사 연구하였다. SDS 농도 증가에 따라 측정한 흡수 및 형광스펙트럼의 변화들로부터 i) TH-SDS 착화합물의 회합체 형성, ii)TH-SDS 회합체내의 색소분자의 stacking 과정, iii)dye-rich induced micelles의 형성에 의한 staking의 파괴 및 iv) SDS 미셀의 표면에 TH의 재분포과정 등으로 설명하였다.

Convolution and Deconvolution Algorithms for Large-Volume Cosmological Surveys

  • Current and planned deep multicolor wide-area cosmological surveys will map in detail the spatial distribution of galaxies and quasars over unprecedented volumes, and provide a number of objects with photometric redshifts more than an order of magnitude bigger than that of spectroscopic redshifts. Photometric information is statistically more significant for studying cosmological evolution, dark energy, and the expansion history of the universe at a fraction of the cost of a full spectroscopic survey, but intrinsically carries a bias due to noise in the distance estimates. We provide convolution- and deconvolution-based algorithms capable of removing this bias -- thus able to exploit the full cosmological information -- in order to reconstruct intrinsic distributions and correlations between distance-dependent quantities. We then show some direct applications of our techniques to the VIMOS Public Extragalactic Redshift Survey (VIPERS) and the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) datasets. Our methods impact a broader range of studies, when at least one distance-dependent quantity is involved; hence, they will be useful for upcoming large-volume surveys, some of which will only have photometric information.

AKARI INFRARED CAMERA SURVEY OF THE LARGE MAGELLANIC CLOUD

  • We conducted an unbiased near- to mid-infrared imaging and spectroscopic survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC) as a part of the AKARI Mission Program "Large-area Survey of the LMC" (LSLMC, PI: T. Onaka). An area of about 10 square degrees of the LMC was observed by five photometric bands (3.2, 7, 11, 15, and $24{\mu}m$) and a low-resolution slitless prism ($2-5{\mu}m$, R ~20) equipped with AKARI /IRC. We constructed and publicly released photometric and spectroscopic catalogues of point sources in the LMC based on the survey data. The catalogues provide a large number of near-infrared spectral data, coupled with complementary broadband photometric data. Combined use of the present AKARI LSLMC catalogues with other infrared point source catalogues of the LMC possesses scientific potential that can be applied to various astronomical studies.

  • In the course of phytochemical studies of Chrysanthermi Flos(Chrysanthemum indicum L., Compositae), two compounds were isolated by repeated column chromatography. Compound 1 is identified as adenosine on the basis of spectroscopic means and comparison with an authentic standard. Compound 2 is determined to be a new alkyl alcohol glycoside, 1-octen-3-ol $3-O-{\beta}-D-xylopyranosyl(1{\rightarrow} 6)-{\beta}-D-glucopyranoside$ on the spectroscopic evidence. Compounds 1 and 2 are reported for the first time from this plant.

실시간 분광 엘립소미트리를 이용한 크롬 박막의 성장연구 (Growth studies of chromium thin films using real-time spectroscopic ellipsometry)

  • High speed real-time spectroscopic ellipsometry was employed in order to characterize the growth of chromium thin film. This instrument can collect 512 points of {$\Delta$(hv), $\Psi$(hv)} spectra from 1.3 to 4.5 eV with acquisition and repetition rates of 20 msec or less. When this instrument was integrated into the chromium thin film growth, we could obtain not only the information on film properties but also the details of the processes. We deduced the growth rates and the evolution of the optical properties of chromium thin films under several preparation conditions. We also demonstrated the contamination process of chromium thin films caused by air exposure.
