환경변화의 영향을 고려한 소음예측기법 (Prediction of Outdoor Sound Propagation under Envrionmental Change)

  • Sound propagation along the surface of the ground can be affected by the roughness of the ground surface and the direction of the wind. Noise Source parameter and ground factor are estimated using the measured results of two points under particular environmental condition, and the noise level of arbitrary points under the same environmental condition can be estimated. The results can be used for the prediction of the noise level from a source above a plain and homogeneous ground surface with no obstacles nearby. Upward and downward conditions are also addressed in addition to ground effect. The proposed method can be utilized to estimate the noise level of specific noise environment and its validity was confirmed with the results of actual field measurement.

  • The electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs) are consisted of electrodes, electrolyte and separator. Among of them, electrode materials are generally used carbon materials. In this study, we experimented for the purpose of fabrication of carbon spheres from various carbohydrates as electrode material. Carbon spheres were prepared by hydrothermal synthesis process. Carbon spheres' morphology had been examined using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and specific surface area had been examined using BET analysis. To confirm the possibilities of carbon spheres as EDLC's electrode materials, we conducted electrochemical tests such as cyclic voltammetry (CV), impedance and cycle ability.

  • 울산지역의 해륙풍장을 해석하기 위해 3차원 중규모 지역기상 수치모형을 개발하여 흐름장의 변동을 수치해석하였다. 식생의 영향을 고려한 지표면 열수지모형을 이용하여 지표면의 온도 및 습도를 결정하도록 하였다. 그리고 접지층에서의 연직방향 확산계수는 Businger의 모형을, Eckman층에서는 Yamada의 난류 closure모형을 사용하여 계산하였다. 그 결과 울산지역의 해륙풍장의 거동특성을 해석하는데 있어서 본 모형은 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.

A Case Study on the Safety Assessment for Groundwater Pathway in a Near-Surface Radioactive Waste Disposal Facility

  • A safety assessment is carried out for the near-surface radioactive waste disposal in the reference engineered vault facility. The analysis is mainly divided into two parts. One deals with the release and transport of radionuclide in the vault and unsaturated zone. The other deals with the transport of radionuclide in the saturated zone and radiological impacts to a human group under well drinking water scenario. The parameters for source-term, geosphere and biosphere models are mainly obtained from the site specific data. The results show that the annual effective doses are dominated by long lived, mobile radionuclides and their associated daughters. And it is found that the total effective dose for drinking water is far below the general criteria of regulatory limit for radioactive waste disposal facility.

On the influence of polymer surface layer thickness on the adhesion of composite assembly. Differences between initial state and thermal ageing.

  • Bonding of composite materials with an adhesive layer is one of the most promising alternatives to classical bonding techniques. The use of several surface treatments may greatly increase this adhesion behavior at the initial state. Then in order to see the influence of the thickness of polymer matrix on the adhesion of composite assembly, different surface treatment, which can reduce or increase this thickness, are used (peel ply, tear ply, excimer laser). The influence of this specific parameter is not only discussed at the initial state but also after thermal ageing of the whole bonded assembly. Results show that the best performances at the initial state are not obviously the best performances after ageing.

Silver elimination effect by sulfuric acid for Ag pre-treated activated carbon

  • In this study, silver pre-treated activated carbons are transformed using sulfuric acid. From the results of adsorption, each isotherm shows a distinct knee band, which is characteristic of microporous adsorbents with capillary condensation in micropores. In order to reveal the causes of the differences in adsorption capacity and specific surface area after the samples were washed with various strengths of sulfuric acid, surface morphology and external pore structure were investigated by SEM. X-ray diffraction patterns indicated that Ag-activated carbons show better performance for silver and silver compounds removal by post-treatment with acid. The FT-IR spectra of silver-activated carbon samples show that the acid post-treatment was consequently associated with the removal of silver with an increased surface functional group containing oxygen of the activated carbon. The type and quality of oxygen groups are determined on the method proposed by Boehm. For the chemical composition microanalysis of silver-activated carbons transformed by post-treatment with sulfuric acid, samples were analyzed by EDX.

페놀계 활성탄소섬유 전극과 수용성 전해질을 사용하는 전기이중층 캐패시터의 비축전용량 특성 (Specific Capacitance Characteristics of Electric Double Layer Capacitors with Phenol Based Activated Carbon Fiber Electrodes and Aqueous Electrolytes)

  • 고비표면적의 활성탄소섬유(ACF: activated carbon fiber)를 분극성 전극으로 이용한 전기이중층 캐패시터(electric double layer capacitor)의 단위 cell test를 통하여, ACF의 비표면적, 세공의 크기 및 전기전도도가 캐패시터의 비축전용량에 커다란 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인할 수 있었고, 전해질은 $H^+$ 이온을 함유한 $H_2SO_4$이 가장 좋은 축전용량을 나타내었으나, 집전체 부식 등의 문제로 인하여, 실용화에 있어서는 우수한 충방전 거동을 나타낸 KOH계 전해질이 적당한 것으로 확인되었다. 분극성 전극으로 사용되는 ACF를 탄화 또는 후활성화 등이 후처리를 통하여 비축전용량을 급격히 증가시킬수 있었고, 3만회까지의 연속 충방전 실험에서 전기이중층 캐패시터는 2차전지에서는 찾아 볼 수 없는 매우 높은 충방전 효율과 긴 사용수명을 가지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.

아연-이온 배터리의 에너지 저장 성능 향상을 위한 망간산화물이 코팅된 흑연시트의 제조 (Synthesis of Manganese Oxide Coated Graphite Sheet for Zinc-Ion Batteries with Improved Energy Storage Performance)

  • Zinc-ion Batteris (ZIBs) are recently being considered as energy storage devices due to their high specific capacity and high safety, and the abundance of zinc sources. Especially, ZIBs can overcome the drawbacks of conventional lithium ion batteris (LIBs), such as cost and safety issues. However, in spite of their advantages, the cathode materials under development are required to improve performance of ZIBs, because the capacity and cycling stability of ZIBs are mainly influenced by the cathode materials. To design optimized cathode materials for high performance ZIBs, a novel manganese oxide (MnO2) coated graphite sheet is suggested herein with improved zinc-ion diffusion capability thanks to the uniformly decorated MnO2 on the graphite sheet surface. Especially, to optimize MnO2 on the graphite sheet surface, amounts of percursors are regulated. The optimized MnO2 coated graphite sheet shows a superior zinc-ion diffusion ability and good electrochemical performance, including high specific capacity of 330.8 mAh g-1 at current density of 0.1 A g-1, high-rate performance with 109.4 mAh g-1 at a current density of 2.0 A g-1, and remarkable cycling stability (82.2 % after 200 cycles at a current density of 1.0 A g-1). The excellent electrochemical performance is due to the uniformly decorated MnO2 on the graphite sheet surface, which leads to excellent zinc-ion diffusion ability. Thus, our study can provide a promising strategy for high performance next-generation ZIBs in the near future.

쓴 맛 물질의 표면 장력과 쓴 맛의 상관 관계 (Research on the Correlation of the Surface Tension and Sensory Quality of Bitter Substances)

  • 순수 물질 수용액의 표면장력치 측정과 JND를 통한 맛 관능 분석에 의해 쓴 맛 물질의 표면 장력과 쓴 맛 간의 상관성을 연구한 결과, 모든 쓴 맛 물질 수용액은 용액의 농도가 증가함에 따라 표면 장력이 감소되어 Szyszkowski 방정식과 Techplot program으로 표면 장력 감소 곡선을 수학적으로 나타낼 수 있었고 또한 관능 분석에 의한 JND 맛 곡선도 같은 방법으로 묘사하여 상호 비교됨을 알 수 있었다. 또한 측정된 모든 쓴 맛 성분들에 대하여 표면 장력 곡선으로부터 상수 a, b 값을, 맛 곡선으로부터 상수 A, B 값을 계산하여 쓴 맛 인지역치 $log\;C_{1}$과 평형 상수 b 값 간의 음의 상관 관계식을 구하였다. 또한 쓴 맛 인지역치 농도 $log\;C_{1}$과 기계적인 측정치로 산출된 parameter들의 상관성을 PV-wave 프로그램을 이용해서 3차원적으로 비교한 $log\;C_{1}$/a/b와 $log\;C_{1}$/A/B간의 상관관계는 주목할 만하며 이는 용액과 기체간의 계면 system에서의 계면 흡착 모델이 구강 내에서의 조직과 용액 간의 관능적 모델에도 적용됨을 나타내며 나아가 표면장력치의 측정이, 신경자극 전달 측정을 위한 Beidler의 이론과 Szyszkowski 방정식을 이용하여 쓴 맛을 기계적으로 측정하는 독립적인 방법을 개발하는데 응용될 수 있음을 시사해 준다.

생물계면활성제를 이용한 휘발성유기물질의 처리 (Microbial Biosurfactants and the Treatment of Volatile Organic Compounds)

  • For the biosurfactant production process at first Candida bombicola, Sphingomonas yanoikuyae, Sphingomonas chungbukensis and Myxococcus flavescens were studied. As the most productive microorganisms C. bombicola, S. yanoikuyae and S. chungbukensis were selected. During many petrochemical industrial processes variable volatile organic componds are produced and they can cause an unpleasent and unhealthy atmosphere. Usually the volatile organic compounds are treated with chemical detergents. The chemical detergents cannot be easily degradable and can be accumulated in the nature. In this study we tried to develop a production process for the biosurfactants, which can substitute some chemical detergents in some chemical processes, with microorganisms. At second the treatment of the volatile organic compounds with the biosurfactants were tested and compared with the treatment with chemical detergent. The production productivities of the biosurfactant with microorganisms were compared. The growth patterns and kinetics of the microbial cells and the surface tension values of the biosurfactants were studied. The changes of the surface tension in variable pH conditions and sodium chloride concentrations were also studied. The volatile organic carbons were treated in a small plant scale. As the result of this study, it indicated that the specific growth rate of S. chungbukensis was the fastest by 0.144 ($hr^{-1}$). For surface tension, C. bombicola (38.1 dyne/cm) had the lowest value, and solubility of the volatile organic carbon was similar in C. bombicola and S. chungbukensis. (Toluene: about 0.1 Unit, Chloroform: about 0.6${\sim}$0.7 Unit, Benzene: about 0.5${\sim}$0.8 Unit). The biosurfactant, which were produced by C. bombicola, was selected for the further study for the volatile organic carbon treatment. With the biosurfactans from C. bombicola could remove the volatile organic carbon about 80% and this removal rate can be comparable with chemical detergent.
