This study is a broad examination researchon LIS students' perception about public library's subject special services and subject special librarian. Students majoring in Library and Information Science as respondents, it examined the recognition level of subject special services and subject special librarian, cognition level of necessity, competencies of subject special librarians and students and opinions on special status system of subject psecial librarians. Main factors shown in the results include the the level of students' understanding and necessity of subject special services and subject special librarian, students' willingness to work as a subject special librarian, the willingness to put additional effort into equip themselves with competencies as subject special librarians. There were respondents who have equipped competencies as subject special librarians through courses provided by the department of Library and Information Science and school curriculum but have not done anything further. Respondents responded that there is a need to systematize special status system of subject special librarian and that subject specialty is important in implementing subject special services but that there is a lack of subject specialty. Based on the research results, this study suggests that there is a need to put more emphasis on developing curriculum that can help overcoming difficulties faced by students majoring in Information Sciecne and help them become competent subject special librarians.

This study, based on the need for department of LIS education program that targets training of subject-special librarian, focuses on proving that such education can improve perception of subject-special librarian and strengthen career decision-making. This study is composed of two parts. First, this study investigates case studies about subject-special librarian cultivation. Second, this study includes a survey about subject-special librarian, improving understanding about subject-special librarian, and improving career decision-making which was carried out targeting students who take 'Medical Terms and MeSH', and 'Health & Medical Information Sources' courses. Results are as follows. First, most of the respondents felt the need for medical librarian and medical information services (88.7%), understood the role of medical librarian (92.5%), got to know more about the types and functions of medical information services (100%), and came to be more aware of the self-esteem a medical librarian feels as a professional. Second, relatively, the percentage of respondents who demonstrated the willingness to work at a medical library (45.3%) or work in the field of medical information services (26.4%) was noticeably low. Third, there were no statistical difference in whether the students took related courses or not, number of courses they took and difference in their school year, and in regard of the level of understanding of medical librarian and medical information services, those who took courses demonstrated higher understanding than did those who did not take those courses. Also, those who took the courses showed stronger willingness to work as a medical librarian. Fourthly, the curriculum carried out by the department of library and information service was effective in understanding medical librarian and medical information services, but makes students more cautious about deciding whether or not to start their career at a medical library. Lastly, it was recommended that there is a need to have the curriculum updated in order to help students overcome the difficulty and unfamiliarity they feel about medical subject.

The purpose of this study proposes continuing education program development for disability services librarian training. To this end, there was researched and analysed the Curriculum for the librarian disability service training courses and the library services with disability and LIS curriculums in abroad and domestic. Based on the research results obtained by the more comprehensive study developed a model for continuing education programs to strengthen disability services librarian competencies. Models were divided program is being offered to Track 1, 2. There are Education types which are organized cyber-shaped form of education training, set-type training, and was organized in blended learning.

The roles of librarians have been changing with the paradigm shift of libraries. The paradigm of libraries has shifted from a traditional information management-centered way to a hybrid approach emphasizing a balance between collection and access. This study analyzed the internal and external changes of libraries to create Blue Ocean of special libraries by using the SWOT analysis. and adopted ERCR analysis for the reasonable management of libraries. The findings of this study indicate that the scope of role played by librarians belonging to special libraries shall be diversified from their traditional library activities in order to adapt themselves to changes in time. The Blue Ocean Strategy can be successfully developed only if the activities of libraries have been changed so that they are closely related to those activities for which such affiliate organizations are expected to carry out.

The purpose of this paper is to make understanding on the influence of school librarian on students' reading behavior. The Writer has collected and analysed data from 2,865 students in Daegu Metropolitan City according to statistical method and process. In conclusion, the writer proved school librarian give much developmental influence on students' reading behavior.

This study is to develop the curriculum model for the librarian training courses of disability services in the LIS curriculum. For this purpose, curriculums for the librarian disability service training courses in domestic and foreign were researched and analysed. The finally developed curriculum for the librarian training courses of disability service suggests a comprehensive necessarily share the curriculum content to be included in training courses for professional librarian library services to disability continued specialized courses and disability specialized courses.

This article is a part of a doctoral research project on developing the faculty-librarian collaboration model to support learning and research at Vietnamese universities. The findings of this study have crucial significance in drawing a broader view of the importance of faculty-librarian collaboration and the roles of such collaborators at Vietnamese universities. Qualitative methodology was used to formulate related topics and achieve these research objectives. Semi-structured interviews were carried out at four universities in Vietnam with three key informants, including the faculty, librarian, and administrators (dean/vice dean of faculty, director/deputy director of the library). From March to April 2019, researchers conducted 29 interviews with three participant groups. The striking results of this research showed that the faculty and librarians realized the significance of a collaborative relationship and expect that Vietnamese universities will design and deploy a model to boost the effectiveness of this collaboration. Besides this, the study found that the collaborators play certain important roles within the collaborative relationship, for instance, that of reference, coordinator, special lecturer, cooperator, and information user.

At the time of operating and studying the subject special librarians of university libraries, an aim of this study is to seek the ways for the users to be aware and make the best use of them, and to receive the necessary assistance from them. To achieve this, I examined carefully the operation and management states, and surveyed and analyzed the actual users' awareness of these operations. Furthermore, I investigated the way to improve the required qualifications to be subject-special librarians and the users' awareness of them. Therefore, I finally examined the way how they reconsidered the actual users in the university libraries.

According to the 2007 Korea library yearbook, 162 out of 589 special libraries are one person libraries which means an individual librarian takes responsibilities of all librarian tasks. Due to its particularity and diversity, however, there is lack of research on special libraries compared to the other libraries and no job analysis for human resources to be effectively managed has been done. This study aims to understand the current status of one person library by investigating its tasks and frequency, importance, difficulty of its duties. This study also suggests plans to improve the job by analyzing its association with affiliated organizations of one person library.
