  • In this paper, we develop a spatiotemporal model to analysis of cellular user in underlay D2D communication by using stochastic geometry and queuing theory. Firstly, by exploring stochastic geometry to model the user locations, we derive the probability that the SINR of cellular user in a predefined interval, which constrains the corresponding transmission rate of cellular user. Secondly, in contrast to the previous studies with full traffic models, we employ queueing theory to evaluate the performance parameters of dynamic traffic model and formulate the cellular user transmission mechanism as a M/G/1 queuing model. In the derivation, Embedded Markov chain is introduced to depict the stationary distribution of cellular user queue status. Thirdly, the expressions of performance metrics in terms of mean queue length, mean throughput, mean delay and mean dropping probability are obtained, respectively. Simulation results show the validity and rationality of the theoretical analysis under different channel conditions.

  • Purpose: Walking in the dual-task condition is a critical skill for hemiplegic patients to live in real-life situations. The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of dual-task gait training and general gait training on gait parameters and cognitive function in patients with chronic stroke during dual-task walking. Methods: The study included 23 patients with chronic hemiparetic stroke who were randomly divided into experimental (dual-task gait training) and control (general walking training) groups. The 11 subjects in the experimental group and nine subjects in the control group received dual-task gait training (walking while handling a ball, crossing obstacles, picking up various objects, and problem solving simple cognitive tasks and general over-ground gait training, respectively, for 30 minutes per day 5 days per week for 4 weeks. Spatiotemporal parameters and cognitive tasks in the dual-task gait condition were measured. Statistical analysis of the changes between the pre- and post-intervention measurement variables was performed using ANCOVA. Results: In the gait condition under cognitive tasks, the changes pre- and post-intervention in gait velocity, stride length, double support limb, and step symmetry were significantly greater in the dual-task gait training group; however, the dual-task gait training group showed no significant improvement compared to the general gait training group in terms of the assessment of cognitive tasks. Conclusion: The findings suggest that dual-task gait training may be beneficial for walking ability in dual-task walking condition.

  • We analyzed diurnal variations in the surface air temperature using the high density urban climate observation network of Daegu in summer, 2013. We compared the time elements, which are characterized by the diurnal variation of surface air temperature. The warming and cooling rates in rural areas are faster than in urban areas. It is mainly due to the difference of surface heat capacity. In addition, local wind circulation also affects the discrepancy of thermal spatiotemporal distribution in Daegu. Namely, the valley and mountain breezes affect diurnal variation of horizontal distribution of air temperature. During daytimes, the air(valley breeze) flows up from urban located at lowlands to higher altitudes of rural areas. The temperature of valley breeze rises gradually as it flows from lowland to upland. Hence the difference of air temperature decreases between urban and rural areas. At nighttime, the mountains cool more rapidly than do low-lying areas, so the air(mountain breeze) becomes denser and sinks toward the valleys(lowlands). As the result, the air temperature becomes lower in rural areas than in urban areas.

  • To help idntify the potential sources of volatile organic sulfur compounds within the continental environment, we have conducted preliminary measurements of dimethylsulfide(DMS) during field campains held from three reference sites. These sampling sites were located within a waste reclamation facility in Won Ju City, Kang Won Province. The results of our measurements showed that DMS levels spanned over 1 to 55 pptv with a mean and 1 standard deviation(1SD) of 12 and 18 pptv(N=13). In a comparison of the data derived from the strongest sources, i.e., oceanic environment, the DMS levels in thre reclamation facility were jpronouncingly low with high day-to-night concentration ratios. It was noted that a significant difference in DMS levels between daytime and nighttime periods was mainly driven by a few exceptional data measured during daytime. Despite limitations of our measurement data in deriving meaningful interpretations of spatiotemporal distributions of DMS in inland facilities, the existence of extraordinary trends, i.e., especially "lower-than-expectedL" DMS values, can be explained in terms of mixed effects of several factors. Most importantly, we can infer that the rates of DMS production and of its destruction in the study site are at or near steady-state condition. Another possibility is that DMS is not adequate enough to explain the generally malordorous environment of reclamation sites, of particular in Won Ju area.n Ju area.

  • PURPOSE: Many patients with stroke have difficulties in walking with foot-drop. Various types of ankle-foot orthoses (AFOs) have been developed, but their weight needs to be reduced with the assistance of the ankle dorsiflexor. Therefore, an elastic AFO (E-AFO) was devised that not only improves the stability and flexibility of the ankle but also assists with ankle dorsiflexion while walking. This study examined the effects of an E-AFO, on the walking patterns of foot-drop patients with stroke. METHODS: Fourteen patients walked with and without an E-AFO, and the gait parameters were assessed using the GAITRite system. The spatiotemporal data on the gait patterns of stroke patients with foot-drop were compared using paired t-tests; the level of statistical significance was set to α<.05. RESULTS: No significant differences were observed in the velocity (p=.066) and affecte+d step length (p=.980), but the affected and less-affected stance (p=.022, p=.002) and swing time (p=.012, p=.005) were significantly different. The E-AFO produced a significant difference in the less-affected step length (p=.032). CONCLUSION: The E-AFO has a significant effect on the walking patterns of individuals with foot-drop and stroke. The E-AFO could be a useful assistive device for gait training in stroke patients.

  • Recently, owing to performance elevation of telecommunication technology, increase of wireless internet's subscriber and diffusion of wireless device, Interest about LBS (Location Based Service) which take advantage of user's location information and can receive information in concerning with user's location is increasing rapidly. So, MOMS (Moving Object Management System) that manage user's location information is required compulsorily to provide location base service. LBS of childhood such as service to find a friend need only current location, but to provide high-quality service in connection with Data Mining, CRM, We must be able to manage location information of past. In this paper, we design distributed manage system to insert and search Moving Object in a large amount. It has been consisted of CLIM (Current Location Information Manager), PLIM (Past-Location Information Manager) and BLIM (Distributed Location Information Manager). CLIM and PLIM prove performance of searching data by using spatiotemporal-index. DLIM distribute an enormous amount of location data to various database. Thus it keeps load-balance, regulates overload and manage a huge number of location information efficiently.

  • The primary purpose of this study is to inquire into the characteristic of exposure presented in fashion, identify the correct concept of exposure from an aesthetic perspective, and grasp the contemporary meaning of exposure presented in fashion. As a result of study, the following findings were obtained: First, the surrealist style of fashion exhibited representations such as the relocation of the partial details, the harmonization of the natural and the artificial, the emphasis or expansion of each part of the body, and the like. It used highlighted the genital region with ornamentations or used the technique of paradoxically exposing the part of the body always covered. And it exbibited the paradoxical relationship of exposure and concealment by exposing the concealed part of the human body. Second, the post-modern style showed the complicated phenomenon that the values of several meanings such as the historic, the folk, and the like appeared in its fashion. It shares in spatiotemporal eclecticism, pluralistic characteristics and the like found in the post-modern culture. Third, the deconstructive style gets rid of the distinction between the external space and the private space by translating underwears into outer garments. It destroys clothing by tearing or perforating clothing whereby it represents the poor image. Coupled with women‘s psychology of exposure and the new generation’s way of thinking indifferent to others‘ eyes, this fashion of deconstruction occupies the great current of fashion. Deconstructive fashion gets away with the rule of ‘having to wear clothing to suit TPO(Time, Place and Occasion), the traditional norm of wearing clothing.

  • To understand the genesis of tropical cyclones (TC), we computed TC genesis probability (GPr) by partitioning a highly localized genesis frequency (GFq) into nearby grid boxes in proportion to the spatial coherence of genesis potential index (GPI). From the analysis of TCs simulated by the Seoul National University Atmosphere Model Version 0 and the observed TCs, it was shown that GPr reasonably converges to GFq when averaged over a long-term period in a decent grid size, supporting its validity as a proxy representing a true TC GPr. The composite anomalies of the gridded GPr in association with the Asia summer monsoon, El Nino-Southern Oscillation (ENSO), and the Madden-Julian Oscillation (MJO) are much less noisy than those of GFq, and consequently are better interpretable. In summary, GPr converges to GFq, varies more smoothly than GFq, represents the spatiotemporal variations of GFq better than GPI, and depicts GFq with greater spatial details than other spatially smoothed GFqs.

  • Humans perceptually segment events, but models that predict where events will be segmented are limited. Developing a detailed model may be hard because of the overlapping quality of events (i.e., one can smile and walk at the same time, but the endpoint of each event can be different). However, some aspects of events appear to be universally represented in the world's languages. For example, path, the trajectory of an object's movement, is one of the most universally encoded event features. Although it is generally encoded in the prepositions of English (e.g., up), in other languagesit is encoded in the verbs (e.g., descendere). Linguistic universals may represent basic levels of event perception. Here we consider how one of these, path, might be parsed. Because the spatiotemporal projection of paths to an observation point is similar to the spatial projection of objects, we tested the hypothesis that path segmentation and object segmentation would be based on similar image properties, such as discontinuities in orientation.

  • In the last decade, considerable research effort has been studied ot multi-dimensional GIS and many spatiotemporal operations and query languages have been proposed. Many of them have focused on designing of operation, which process with data that is valid at current point in time. But, research that studied to updata operation that updates or inserts the past data is very rare. This paper designs an update operation and an insertion operation for integrity of past data of multi-dimensional GIS, and propose a new data model for efficient processing of the operations.
