  • As technologies related to sensor network are currently emerging and the use of GeoSensor is increasing along with the development of Internet of Things (IoT) technology, spatial query processing systems to efficiently process spatial sensor data are being actively studied. However, existing spatial query processing systems do not support a spatial-temporal data type and a spatial-temporal operator for processing spatialtemporal sensor data. Therefore, they are inadequate for processing spatial-temporal sensor data like GeoSensor. Accordingly, this paper developed a spatial-temporal query processing system, for efficient spatial-temporal query processing of spatial-temporal sensor data in a sensor network. Lastly, this paper verified the utility of System through a scenario, and proved that this system's performance is better than existing systems through performance assessment of performance time and memory usage.

  • RFM is the sensor model of IKONOS imagery for end-users. IKONOS imagery vendors provide RPC (Rational Polynomial Coefficients), Ration Function Model coefficients for IKONOS, for end-users with imagery. So it is possible that end-users obtain geospatial information in their IKONOS imagery without additional any effort. But there are requirements still fur rigorous 3D positions on RPC user. Provided RPC can not satisfy user and company to generate precision 3D terrain model. In IKONOS imagery, physical sensor modeling is difficult because IKONOS vendors do not provide satellite ephemeris data and abstract sensor modeling requires many GCP well distributed in the whole image as well as other satellite imagery. Therefore RPC modification is better choice. If a few GCP are available, RPC can be modified by method which is introduced in this paper. Study on evaluation modified RPC in IKONOS reports reasonable result. Pseudo GCP generated with vendor's RPC and additional GCP make it possible through sequential solution.

  • This paper is concerned with the pattern formation of a diffusive predator-prey model with two time delays. Based upon an analysis of Hopf bifurcation, we demonstrate that time delays can induce spatial patterns under some conditions. Moreover, by use of a series of numerical simulations, we show that the type of spatial patterns is the spiral wave. Finally, we demonstrate that the spiral wave is asymptotically stable.

  • In this paper, watermark embedding technique was proposed to securely conceal the watermark in color cover image by applying the spatial encryption technique. The embedded watermak can be extracted from stego-image without loss. The quality of the stego-image is very good. So it is not possible to visually distinguish the difference between the original cover image and the stego-image. The validity of the proposed technique was verified by mathematical analysis. The proposed watermark embedding technique can be used for intellectual property protection, military, and medical applications that require high security.

  • W ith the recent advancement of IoT (Internet of Things) technology, there has been much interest in the spatial query processing which energy-efficiently acquires sensor readings from sensor nodes inside specified geographical area of interests. Therefore, various kinds of spatial query processing algorithms and distributed spatial indexing methods have been proposed. They can minimize energy consumption of sensor nodes by reducing wireless communication among them using in-network spatial filtering technology. However, they cannot optimize multiple spatial queries which w ill be w idely used in IoT, because most of them have focused on a single spatial query optimization. Therefore, we propose a new multiple spatial query optimization algorithm which can energy-efficiently process multiple spatial queries in a sensor network. The algorithm uses a concept of 'query merging' that performs the merged set after merging multiple spatial queries located at adjacent area. Here, our algorithm makes a decision on which is better between the merged and the separate execution of queries. For such the decision making, we additionally propose the cost estimation method on the spatial query execution. Finally, we analyze and clarify our algorithm's distinguished features using the spatial indexing methods of GR-tree, SPIX, CPS.

  • The past studies on the change of industrial location can be reinterpreted as spatial determinism, decision making process determinism and industrial sturcure determinism according to the view of the mutual operation between the economic activity and spatial structure. From the point of the industrial structure determinism which focuses on the fact that the locational type of production activity can be differenciated by the structural change of industry itself, it is proper to explain the change of industrial location not only by spatial condition but also by containing the fundamental changing causes for the reorganization of the spatial condition. One of the most important changing causes for reorganizing economic space is industrial technology. This study aims to explain the spatialization process of industrial technology and consists of the process of suggesting the hypothesis that the spatialization process is differentiated according to the production organization as the user of industrial technology and the user of industrial technology and the production system as using method. In other words, this study attempts to internalize the technology variable, which has been treated as external in the past studies on the industrial location, as an independent one and consider the production organization and production system as a paramenter, so that it can represent 'conceptual framework' for explaining the change of industrial location.

  • Accurate estimation of spatial frequencies and phases for illumination patterns are essential to reconstructing super-resolution images in structured illumination microscopy (SIM). In this manuscript, we propose the improved component cross-correlation (ICC) algorithm, which is based on optimization of the cross-correlation values of the overlapping information between various spectral components. Compared to other algorithms for spatial-frequency and phase determination, the results calculated by the ICC algorithm are more accurate when the modulation depths of the illumination patterns are low. Moreover, the ICC algorithm is able to calculate the spatial frequencies and phases simultaneously. Simulation results indicate that even if the modulation depth is lower than 0.1, the ICC algorithm still estimates the parameters precisely; the images reconstructed by the ICC algorithm are much clearer than those reconstructed by other algorithms. In experiments, our home-built SIM system was used to image bovine pulmonary artery endothelial (BPAE) cells. Drawing support from the ICC algorithm, super-resolution images were reconstructed without artifacts.

  • Spatial variability is an inherent uncertainty of soil properties. Current reliability analyses generally incorporate random field theory and Monte Carlo simulation (MCS) when dealing with spatial variability, in which the computational efficiency is a significant challenge. This paper proposes a KL-FORM algorithm to improve the computational efficiency. In the proposed KL-FORM, Karhunen-Loeve (KL) expansion is used for discretizing random fields, and first-order reliability method (FORM) is employed for reliability analysis. The KL expansion and FORM can be used in conjunction, through adopting independent standard normal variables in the discretization of KL expansion as the basic variables in the FORM. To illustrate the effectiveness of this KL-FORM, it is applied to a case study of a strip footing in spatially variable unsaturated soil under rainfall, in which the bearing capacity of the footing is computed by numerical simulation. This case study shows that the KL-FORM is accurate and efficient. The parametric analyses suggest that ignoring the spatial variability of the soil may lead to an underestimation of the reliability index of the footing.
