Integrated Ground-Underground Spatial Network for Urban Spatial Analysis (도시 공간분석을 위한 지상·지하 공간 네트워크)

  • The purpose of this study is to propose and verify a spatial network construction method that integrated roads and subway lines to improve the predictability of the urban spatial analysis model. The existing axial map for urban spatial analysis did not reflect the subway line that serves as an important moving space in modern cities. To improve this axial map, proposed a Ground-Underground Spatial Network by integrating the underground spatial network with the axial map. As a result of the integration analysis, the Ground-Underground Spatial Network(GUSN) were similar to the movement frequency. Correlation of GUSN was 0.723, which showed higher explanatory power than correlation coefficient of 0.575 in axial map. The result of this study is expected to be a theoretical basis for constructing spatial network in urban space analysis with subway.

  • Less Favored Area(LFA) is a newly shaped regional concept and just appearing as a new community design target, where the topogeographical, industry-locational condition and the daily living environment have been outstandingly inferior to any other regions. Community Design(CD) principles that cover a spatial order of settlements are introduced in this study when the CD concept is applied to the LFA. The study puts a great stress on the horizontal and vertical order of communal spatial units and living activities oriented to residents'socio-economic activities, on which a CD district and an inner spatial organization of community is based. Therefore the various relationships between residents' activities and particular places, such as that between agricultural production and land, access to living services and community-outer settlements, is analysed through the field study. The emphatic point is that the spatial unit and organization of community, namely settlement order is casted not only by the horizontal coverage but also by the vertical hierarchy forming a cubic-like spatial order. Applying the CD idea to LFA has limit because the CD has been oriented on urban architectural style and community participation process. Nevertheless, that has a new possibility to understand the fundamental and archetypical change of a spatial pattern of community uncovering the accumulated layer of settlement order especially in the drastically changed mountain community from past to now.

  • This study is to develop a web-based integrated system for flow of agricultural products based on recent researches with engineering approach. The system stands on the basis of web for accessibility and usability. Three parts of the system consist of analysis of regional shipping characteristics using tank model, estimation of pallet load efficiency with Monte Carlo Simulation, a long term prediction of market price with reliability analysis. Besides a decision support module for selecting optimal shipping market is added through synthesizing techniques and spatial analysis using GIS and applied to Chinese cabbage of Pyeongchang in 2004.

Analysis of the Relationship between Three-Dimensional Built Environment and Urban Surface Temperature (도시의 3차원 물리적 환경변수와 지표온도의 관계 분석)

  • This study examines the relationship between three-dimensional urban built environment and urban surface temperature using LANDSAT 8 satellite image data in Seoul city. The image was divided into 600m×600m grid units as an unit of analysis. Due to the high level of spatial dependency in surface temperature, this study uses spatial statistics to take into account spatial auto-correlation. The spatial error model shows the best goodness of fit. The analysis results show that the three-dimensional built environment and transport environment as well as natural environment have statistically significant associations with surface temperature. First, natural environment variables such as green space, streams and river, and average elevation show statistically significant negative association with surface temperature. Second, the building area shows a positive association with surface temperature. In addition, while sky view factor (SVF) has a positive association with surface temperature, surface roughness (SR) shows a negative association with it. Third, transportation related variables such as road density, railway density, and traffic volume show positive associations with surface temperature. Moreover, this study finds that SVF and SR have different effects on surface temperature in regard to the levels of total floor areas in built environment. The results indicate that interactions between floor area ratio (FAR) and three-dimensional built environmental variables such as SVF and SR should be considered to reduce urban surface temperature.

The Method to Calculate the Walking Energy-Weight in ERAM Model to Analyze the 3D Vertical and Horizontal Spaces in a Building (3차원 수직·수평 건축공간분석을 위한 ERAM모델의 보행에너지 가중치 산정 연구)

  • The aim of this study is to propose a method for calculating the weight of walking energy in ERAM model by calculating it for the analysis of vertical and horizontal spaces in a building. Conventional theories on the space analysis in the field of architectural planning predict the pedestrian volume of network spaces in urban street or in two-dimensional plane within a building, however, for vertical and horizontal spaces in a building, estimates of the pedestrian volume by those theories are limited. Because in the spatial syntax and ERAM model have been applied weights such as the spatial depth, adjacent angles, and physical distances available only to the two-dimensional same layer or plane. Therefore, the following basic assumptions and analysis conditions in this study were established for deriving a predictor of pedestrian volume in vertical and horizontal spaces of a building. The basic premise of space analysis is not to address the relationship between the pedestrian volume and the spatial structure itself but to the properties of spatial structure connection that human beings experience. The analysis conditions in three-dimensional spaces are as follows : 1) Measurement units should be standardized on the same scale, and 2) The connection characteristics between spaces should influence the accessibility of human beings. In this regard, a factor of walking energy has the attributes to analyze the connection of vertical and horizontal spaces and satisfies the analysis conditions presented in this study. This study has two implications. First, this study has shown how to quantitatively calculate the walking energy after a factor of walking energy was derived to predict the pedestrian volume in vertical and horizontal spaces. Second, the method of calculating the walking energy can be applied to the weights of the ERAM model, which provided the theoretical basis for future studies to predict the pedestrian volume of vertical and horizontal spaces in a building.

Analysis of Determinants of Farmland Price Using Spatio-temporal Autoregressive Model (시공간자기회귀모형을 이용한 농지가격 결정요인 분석)

  • Farmland transaction prices are affected by various factors such as politics, society, and the economy. The purpose of this study is to identify multiple factors that affect the farmland transaction price due to changes in the actual transaction price of farmland by farmland unit from 2016 to 2020. There are several previous studies analyzed the determinants of farmland transaction prices by considering spatial dependency. However, in the case of land transactions where the time and space of the transaction affect simultaneously, if only spatial dependence is considered, there is a limitation in that it cannot reflect spatial dependence that occurs over time. In order to solve these limitations, To address these limitations, this study builds a spatio-temporal autoregressive model that simultaneously considers spatial and temporal dependencies using farmland transactions in Jinju City as an example. As a result of the analysis, it was confirmed that there was significant spatio-temporal dependence in farmland transactions within the previous 30 days. This means that if the previous farmland transaction was carried out at a high price, it has a spatio-temporal spillover effect that indirectly affects the increase in the price of other nearby farmland transactions. The study also found that various location attributes and socioeconomic attributes have a significant impact on farmland transaction prices. The spatio-temporal autoregressive model of farmland prices constructed in this study can be used to improve the prediction accuracy of farmland prices in the farmland transaction market in the future, and it is expected to be useful in drawing policy implications for stabilizing farmland prices

An Alternative Model on Hierachial Settlement System in Rural Areas (농어촌지역 하위정주체계 모형의 대안설정)

  • In rural settlement planning, its spatial development framework should be constructed on the basis of the hierachial settlement system. However, up to now, there does not exist widely - accepted model on rural settlement hierachy. In this study the basic planning principles and directions on the modelling of the settlement hireachy in rural areas have been consolidated through theoretical study and situational analysis on planning environments. And also, a new yardstick on the grading of the middle - level centers between villages and rural towns has been tried to find out. The research resulted that the existance of periodical rural market might be used as a simple and innovative yardstick on the hierachial ordering of rural settlement system. Based on the above results, an alternative 4 - step model of rural settlement hierachy was proposed ; Rural Town(county hall sitted) -Market Center(having standard periodical market) - Village Center(having no market) - Village. Finally, because the conclusion has been made by very limited case studies and several previous works, there should need continuous studies and checks in future for full reasoning of the proposed model.

  • The development of farm villages into ecovillages aims at creating an alternative that reconciles the environment with economy, the two practical issues faced by farm villages. Recently various projects are being carried out to resolve the weak competitiveness of farm villages and to induce environment-friendly development, but they have basic limitations in improving farm villages. Thus, the present study purposed to examine the possibility of transforming farm villages into ecovillages as an alternative for solving these problems more effectively. Thus this study selected Sori Village to experiment the possibility of transforming farm villages into ecovillages, presented the process of planning using environmental planning indicators, and verified its validity through designing an experimental model.

  • Zoning data such as national land use planning map, urban land use planning map, agricultural promotion zoning ap, forest land zoning map has a relationship each other in law and spatial context. But difficulties in data share and the lack of accuracy of manual work makes serious inconsistence son zoning data relationship. This causes many trial and error in land use. For resolving this problem the data modellingmethod is presented as a technical solution.

A Missing Value Replacement Method for Agricultural Meteorological Data Using Bayesian Spatio-Temporal Model (농업기상 결측치 보정을 위한 통계적 시공간모형)

  • Agricultural meteorological information is an important resource that affects farmers' income, food security, and agricultural conditions. Thus, such data are used in various fields that are responsible for planning, enforcing, and evaluating agricultural policies. The meteorological information obtained from automatic weather observation systems operated by rural development agencies contains missing values owing to temporary mechanical or communication deficiencies. It is known that missing values lead to reduction in the reliability and validity of the model. In this study, the hierarchical Bayesian spatio-temporal model suggests replacements for missing values because the meteorological information includes spatio-temporal correlation. The prior distribution is very important in the Bayesian approach. However, we found a problem where the spatial decay parameter was not converged through the trace plot. A suitable spatial decay parameter, estimated on the bias of root-mean-square error (RMSE), which was determined to be the difference between the predicted and observed values. The latitude, longitude, and altitude were considered as covariates. The estimated spatial decay parameters were 0.041 and 0.039, for the spatio-temporal model with latitude and longitude and for latitude, longitude, and altitude, respectively. The posterior distributions were stable after the spatial decay parameter was fixed. root mean square error (RMSE), mean absolute error (MAE), mean absolute percentage error (MAPE), and bias were calculated for model validation. Finally, the missing values were generated using the independent Gaussian process model.
