Development of a Standard Vector Data Model for Interoperability of River-Geospatial Information (하천공간정보의 상호운용성을 위한 표준벡터데이터 모델 개발)

  • In this study, a standard vector data model was developed for interoperability of river-geospatial information and for verification purpose the applicability of the standard vector model was evaluated using a model to RIMGIS vector data at Changnyeong-Hapcheon & Gangjung-Goryeong irrigation watershed. The standards from ISO and OGC were analyzed and the river geospatial data model standard was established by applying the standards. The ERD was designed based on the analysis information on data characteristics and relationship. The verification of RIMGIS vector data included points, lines and polygon to develope GDM was carried out by comparing with the data by layer. This conducting comparison of basic spatial data and attribute data to each record and spatial information vertex. The error in the process of conversion was 0 %, indicating no problem with model. Our Geospatial Data Model presented in this study provides a new and consistent format for the storage and retrieval of river geospatial data from connected database. It is designed to facilitators integrated analysis of large data sets collected by multiple institutes.

  • The 119 emergency rescue-aid service operated by Korean government is a very valuable in a society and its importance is growing in Korea as an aging society. Especially, the emergency vehicle's arrival time to accidents place is an important variable which affects initial emergency measure for patients and it depends on the road network attributes, such as emergency service station's location, accessibility to accidents place and so on. This study aims to analysis the emergency vehicles' arrival delay and the dispatch station in the viewpoint of efficiency utilizing the real rescue-aid activity data. We analyzed the dispatch distribution of the emergency rescue-aid service at first. And we analyzed high accident rate locations not involved in the fixed radius of rescue-aid service stations and display GIS map showing regions have been delayed. The input data of the road network speed is based on the KTDB (Korea Transportation Database) and historical rescue-aid data is from Gyeongsangbuk-do's fire service headquarters.

Prediction of Ground Subsidence Hazard Area Using GIS and Probability Model near Abandoned Underground Coal Mine (GIS 및 확률모델을 이용한 폐탄광 지역의 지반침하 위험 예측)

  • In this study, we predicted areas vulnerable to ground subsidence near abandoned underground coal mine at Sam-cheok City in Korea using a probability (frequency ratio) model with Geographic Information System (GIS). To extract the factors related to ground subsidence, a spatial database was constructed from a topographical map, geo-logical map, mining tunnel map, land characteristic map, and borehole data on the study area including subsidence sites surveyed in 2000. Eight major factors were extracted from the spatial analysis and the probability analysis of the surveyed ground subsidence sites. We have calculated the decision coefficient ($R^2$) to find out the relationship between eight factors and the occurrence of ground subsidence. The frequency ratio model was applied to deter-mine each factor's relative rating, then the ratings were overlaid for ground subsidence hazard mapping. The ground subsidence hazard map was then verified and compared with the surveyed ground subsidence sites. The results of verification showed high accuracy of 96.05% between the predicted hazard map and the actual ground subsidence sites. Therefore, the quantitative analysis of ground subsidence near abandoned underground coal mine would be possible with a frequency ratio model and a GIS.

Mining Frequent Trajectory Patterns in RFID Data Streams (RFID 데이터 스트림에서 이동궤적 패턴의 탐사)

  • This paper proposes an on-line mining algorithm of moving trajectory patterns in RFID data streams considering changing characteristics over time and constraints of single-pass data scan. Since RFID, sensor, and mobile network technology have been rapidly developed, many researchers have been recently focused on the study of real-time data gathering from real-world and mining the useful patterns from them. Previous researches for sequential patterns or moving trajectory patterns based on stream data have an extremely time-consum ing problem because of multi-pass database scan and tree traversal, and they also did not consider the time-changing characteristics of stream data. The proposed method preserves the sequential strength of 2-lengths frequent patterns in binary relationship table using the time-evolving graph to exactly reflect changes of RFID data stream from time to time. In addition, in order to solve the problem of the repetitive data scans, the proposed algorithm infers candidate k-lengths moving trajectory patterns beforehand at a time point t, and then extracts the patterns after screening the candidate patterns by only one-pass at a time point t+1. Through the experiment, the proposed method shows the superior performance in respect of time and space complexity than the Apriori-like method according as the reduction ratio of candidate sets is about 7 percent.

National Police Office which controls a traffic accident does not execute an up-to-date technique. And, it is working yet by the hand, There is to traffic accident analysis and the research regarding the analysis against the research which it follows in geography element and composition element and an accident cause is weak. Consequently, effectively establishment and it enforces a traffic safety policy and from the hazard which it evaluates traffic accident data the system and scientific analysis against a traffic accident occurrence cause and a feature in basic must become accomplished. The research which it sees constructs a traffic accident data in GIS base. It is like that, it uses the PDA where is not the collection of data of text form in existing and at real-time it converts store and an accident data rightly in standard traffic accident data form and it will be able to manage. It was related with a space data peculiarity and the research regarding the system development with the geography analysis data about an accident cause under manifesting it accomplished.

  • 최근 인터넷 환경에서 지리 정보 서비스를 제공받으려는 사용자들의 지속적인 증가로 인해 저비용의 여러 개의 단일 노드를 고속의 네트워크로 연결하여 고성능을 제공하는 클러스터 기반의 공간 데이터베이스에 대한 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이러한 공간 데이터베이스 클러스터에서 사용자가 요구한 공간 질의를 빠르게 처리하기 위해서는 고비용의 공간 조인 연산을 효율적으로 처리하기 위한 기법이 요구된다. 본 논문에서는 비공유 공간 데이터베이스 클러스터 환경하에서 공간 조인 연산 수행 시 효율적인 병렬 처리를 위한 영역 분할 기법 및 병렬 공간 조인 기법을 제안한다. 기존의 병렬 공간 데이터베이스 시스템에서의 분할 기반 병렬 공간 조인 기법들은 병렬로 수행할 작업 분배 및 할당과 분할 경계선 상에 존재하는 공간 객체들에 대한 중복 조인 연산 및 중복 결과 제거 등의 추가적인 연산을 해야 한다는 문제점들이 있다. 제안된 기법은 공간 릴레이션들을 일정 영역들로 분할하여 비공유 공간 데이터베이스 클러스터의 각 노드에서 중복없이 저장, 관리하도록 하며 분할 영역의 경계선 상에 위치하는 공간 데이터에 대해서만 중복 저장을 허용하여 병렬 공간 조인 연산 시 누락되는 공간 데이터가 없도록 한다. 본 기법은 공간 조인 연산 시 병렬 처리를 위한 별도의 작업 할당 과정을 거치지 않고 각 노드에서 병렬적으로 공간 조인 연산을 수행하며, 분할 경계선 상에 존재하는 공간 객체들은 여과 과정을 거쳐 한번만 공간 조인이 수행되므로 중복 결과들을 제거하기 위한 별도의 연산이 필요없는 특징을 갖는다.   • Accurate information on habitat distribution of protected fauna is essential for the habitat management of Korea, a country with very high development pressure. The objectives of this study were to develop a habitat suitability model of wild boar based on GIS and logistic regression, and to create habitat distribution map, and to prepare the basis for habitat management of our country s endangered and protected species. The modeling process of this restudyarch had following three steps. First, GIS database of environmental factors related to use and availability of wild boar habitat were built. Wild boar locations were collected by Radio-Telemetry and GPS. Second, environmental factors affecting the habitat use and availability of wild boars were identified through chi-square test. Third, habitat suitability model based on logistic regression were developed, and the validity of the model was tested. Finally , habitat assessment map was created by utilizing a rule-based approach. The results of the study were as folos. First , distinct difference in wild boar habitat use by season and habitat types were found, however, no difference in wild boar habiat use by season and habitat types were found , however, ho difference by sex and activity types were found. Second, it was found, through habitat availability analysis, that elevation , aspect , forest type, and forest age were significant natural environmental factors affecting wild boar hatibate selection, but the effects of slope, ridge/valley, water, and solar radiation could not be identified, Finally, the habitat at cutoff value of 0.5. The model validation showed that inside validation site had the classification accuracy of 73.07% for total habitat and 80.00% for cover habitat , and outside validation site had the classification accuracy of 75.00% for total habitat.

  • Remote Sensing has been very useful tool in monitoring of cities and updating of GIS database compare to traditional methods due to its benefit; wide range covering on low cost and advanced data collection. However it had come to a limited method in limited researches because of its relatively poor spatial resolution in scanning. Recently launched satellites are able to produce improved imageries, and new commercial services have been commenced for the use of general public with higher spatial resolution up to $1m{\times}1m$. This study tackled a potential use of these improved satellite imageries in urban planning based on the Multi-temporal satellite imagery with particular reference to monitoring on urban areas, for example urbanization and its expanding. i) Portion of individual features and elements in each pixel of satellite imagery was computed based on 'Endmember' of targeted elements. ii) Urbanized areas were categorized based on the 'Fraction imagery' derived from the 'SMA algorithm'. iii) Alterations and expanding of urban areas were identified based on the Multi-temporal satellite imageries. Tested method showed a strong potential to produce more advanced monitoring skills of urban areas.

  • The purposes of this study are to provide a guideline for the suitability of wind farm facilities in forest lands and to suggest improvement plans of policies and systems to minimize the damage of forest lands. First, we implemented a literature review and field surveys to examine and select factors for the suitability of wind farm facilities in forest lands. Spatial database for selected location factors of wind farm facilities in forest lands was constructed to develop the suitability model for locating wind farm facilities focusing on Gangwon-do. Data used in this study include wind power resource, legal mountainous preserved area, forest roads, developed areas, forest class, and other spatial data. In order to find specific-sized potential areas for a certain number of wind farm turbines, we used block statistics and focal statistics methods. As a result, the areas for potential wind farm locations were 1,261ha from a block statistics method and 1,411ha from a focal statistics method. Based on the outputs of this research, it is required to make an urgent solution for the prevention of forest disaster and to prepare reduction measures for the destruction of ridge landscape.

Spacio-temporal Analysis of Urban Population Exposure to Traffic-Related air Pollution (교통흐름에 기인하는 미세먼지 노출 도시인구에 대한 시.공간적 분석)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate the impact of traffic-related air pollution on the urban population in the Metropolitan Seoul area. In particular, this study analyzes urban population exposure to traffic-related particulate materials(PM). For the purpose, this study examines the relationships between traffic flows and PM concentration levels during the last fifteen years. Traffic volumes have been decreased significantly in recent year in Seoul, however, PM levels have been declined less compare to traffic volumes. It may be related with the rapid growth in the population and vehicle numbers in Gyenggi, the outskirt of Seoul, where several New Towns have been developed in the middle of 1990's. The spatial pattern of commuting has changed, and thus and travel distances and traffic volumes have increased along the main roads connecting CBDs in Seoul and New Towns consisting of large residential apartment complexes. These changes in traffic flows and travel behaviors cause increasing exposure to traffic-related air pollution for urban population over the Metropolitan Seoul area. GIS techniques are applied to analyze the spatial patterns of traffic flows, population distributions, PM distributions, and passenger flows comprehensively. This study also analyzes real time base traffic flow data and passenger flow data obtained from T-card transaction database applying data mining techniques. This study also attempts to develop a space-time model for assessing journey-time exposure to traffic related air pollutants based on travel passenger frequency distribution function. The results of this study can be used for the implications for sustainable transport systems, public health and transportation policy by reducing urban air pollution and road traffics in the Metropolitan Seoul area.
