  • A long-term growth simulation was performed at 99 land units in Yeoncheon county to test the potential adaptability of each land unit for growing soybean cultivars. The land units for soybean cultivation(CZU), each represented by a geographically referenced land patch, were selected based on land use, soil characteristics, and minimum arable land area. Monthly climatic normals for daily maximum and minimum temperature, precipitation, number of rain days and solar radiation were extracted for each CZU from digital climate models(DCM). The DCM grid cells falling within a same CZU were aggregated to make spatially explicit climatic normals relevant to the CZU. A daily weather dataset for 30 years was randomly generated from the monthly climatic normals of each CZU. Growth and development parameters of CROPGRO-soybean model suitable for 2 domestic soybean cultivars were derived from long-term field observations. Three foreign cultivars with well established parameters were also added to this study, representing maturity groups 3, 4, and 5. Each treatment was simulated with the randomly generated 30 years' daily weather data(from planting to physiological maturity) for 99 land units in Yeoncheon to simulate the growth and yield responses to the inter-annual climate variation. The same model was run with input data from the Crop Experiment Station in Suwon to obtain a 30 year normal performance of each cultivar, which was used as a "reference" for evaluation. Results were analyzed with respect to spatial and temporal variation in yield and maturity, and used to evaluate the suitability of each land unit for growing a specific cultivar. A computer program(MAPSOY) was written to help utilize the results in a decision-making procedure for agrotechnology transfer. transfer.

  • The general urban plan is the plane plan which limits general and uniformed constructions; however, the district unit plan is the solid plan that can leads various constructions by discriminating by plot, housing area and lot. Therefore, for the zone plan, not only the two-dimensional plot information such as plot usage plan, but also the three-dimensional plot information needs to be used to analyze lighting, sewerage and directions. To fulfill such requirements, the information can be gathered using GIS and photogrammetric method for the reasonable and efficient zone plan. In this research, the information about the testing area for the zone plan has been gathered using GIS method, and the three-dimensional model about the area has been built using the satellite image and DEM. As the result, plot usage analysis, direction analyst, water system analysis, and slope analysis has been done and used efficiently to build the district unit plan. Also, after the result after applying the analyzed result to the actual area says this is very appropriate and efficient.

  • In this paper, we propose a novel algorithm to automatically generate an RTP timestamp value that is required for the RTP packetization in order to transmit SVC video over various If networks such as Internet. Unlike the conventional single layer coding algorithms such as H.263, MPEG-4 and H.264, SVC generates a multi-layered single bitstream which is composed of a base layer and one or more enhancement layers in order to simultaneously provide temporal, spatial, and SNR scalability. Especially, in order to provide temporal scalability based on hierarchical B-picture prediction structure, the encoding (or transmission) and display order of pictures in SVC coding is completely decoupled. Thus, the timestamp value to be specified at the header of each RTP packet in video transmission does not increase monotonically according to the display time instant of each picture. Until now, no method for automatically generating an RTP timestamp when SVC video is loaded in a RTP packet has teen introduced. In this paper, a novel automatic RTP timestamp generation method exploiting the TID (temporal ID) field of the SVC NAL unit header is proposed to accommodate the SVC video transmission.

  • According to data from the national office of Statistics Korea and Ministry of Health and Welfare, as the elderly population increases, the dementia elderly population continues to increase and its future population growth rate is expected to be even faster. In particular, the Dementia Management Act has been in effect since February 2012, and active efforts has been made for a policy for the dementia management. The purpose of this study is to establish standards on building plans based on the appropriate scale and spatial configuration on facilities planning for the elderly with dementia. Specifically, the basic data were collected with a request for a total of 103 points on the basis of a database of group homes in the survey managed by the Japan Association of Group Homes. Specific information of the research includes the management body of facilities operation, scale of the facilities, number of units and configuration of personal living space, and the collected survey data and drawings were statistically proceed and analyzed using the SPSS WIN 20.0. analysis results are summarized as follows. first, most of the group homes come to the small size of the 1-2 story home ; the approximate number of units is one or two per home, and each unit consists of nine rooms. second, a number of group homes with the building area of $300m^2$ have the U-shaped arrangement which is advantageous in the extension and facilities maintenance. In conclusion, this study is to be the fundamental data for judgments that can be used to establish standards for the facilities for the dementia elderly whose population continues to increase. In addition, further study is necessary to establish suitable design conditions of our country.

  • Luminous efficiency and uniformity in a LCD-BLU are mainly determined by fine scattering patterns formed on the light guide panel. We propose a novel fabrication method of 3-dimensional scattered patterns based on anisotropic etching of silicon wafers. Micro-pyramid patterns with 70.5 degree apex-angle and micro-prism patterns with 109.4 degree apex-angle can be self-constructed by the wet, anisotropic etching of (100) and (110) silicon wafers, respectively, and those patterns are easily duplicated by the PDMS replica process. Experimental results on spatial and angular distributions of irradiation from the light guide panel with the micro-pyramid patterns were very consistent with the calculation results. Surface roughness of the silicon-based micro-patterns is free from any artificial defects since the micro-patterns are inherently formed with silicon crystal surfaces. Therefore, we expect that the silicon based micro-patterning process makes it possible to fabricate perfect 3-dimensional micro-structures with crystal surface and apex angles, which may guarantee mass-reproduction of the light guide panels in LCD-BLU.

  • In this paper, we propose an indoor navigation system that can do walk safely to the destination for visually impaired persons. The proposed system analyzes images taken with the camera finds the ID of the marker to identify the absolute position of the pedestrian. Using the distance and angle obtained from IMU(Inertial Measurement Unit) accelerometer sensor and a gyro sensor, the system decides the relative position of a pedestrian for the previous position to determine the next direction. At the same time, we simplify a complex spatial structure in front of user by means of ultrasonic sensors and determine an avoidance direction by estimating the patterns. Then, it uses a few IR(Infrared Rays) sensors to detect stair. Our system offers position of visually impaired persons incorporating multiple sensors and helps users to arrive to destination safely.

  • We achieved 95% visibility in the Hong-Ou-Mandel interference experiment while we achieved only 56% visibility in a previous report. We used a 120 mW 405 nm single-mode continuous wave laser, a 5-mm-thick type-1 ${\beta}$-barium borate single crystal, standard Hong-Ou-Mandel interferometer optics, two avalanche photodiode single-photon counters, and a homemade coincidence counting unit. The photon collection unit was the key difference between the present study and the previous study. In the present experiment, we used single-mode optical fibers for photon collection, which suppressed accidental coincidence between-different mode photons by acting as a spatial filter because of its core size being much smaller than a multi-mode fiber.

  • The objectives of this study were to estimate leaf area index (LAI) as a function of image-derived vegetation indices, and to compare measured and estimated LAI to the results of crop model simulation. Soil moisture, crop phenology, and LAI data were obtained several times during the 2001 growing season at monitoring sites established in two central Missouri experimental fields, one planted to com (Zea mays L.) and the other planted to soybean (Glycine max L.). Hyper- and multi-spectral images at varying spatial. and spectral resolutions were acquired from both airborne and satellite platforms, and data were extracted to calculate standard vegetative indices (normalized difference vegetative index, NDVI; ratio vegetative index, RVI; and soil-adjusted vegetative index, SAVI). When comparing these three indices, regressions for measured LAI were of similar quality $(r^2$ =0.59 to 0.61 for com; $r^2$ =0.66 to 0.68 for soybean) in this single-year dataset. CERES(Crop Environment Resource Synthesis)-Maize and CROPGRO-Soybean models were calibrated to measured soil moisture and yield data and used to simulate LAI over the growing season. The CERES-Maize model over-predicted LAI at all corn monitoring sites. Simulated LAI from CROPGRO-Soybean was similar to observed and image-estimated LA! for most soybean monitoring sites. These results suggest crop growth model predictions might be improved by incorporating image-estimated LAI. Greater improvements might be expected with com than with soybean.

  • This study analyses land related problems and its features which stems from a concession established by the imperialist countries from the late Joseon Dynasty to the Japanese colonial period. In order to achieve the purpose of this study, literature review related to the installation of the treaty ports and a concession was conducted and a chronological analysis was applied. As a result of the study, the East China Sea and the Japan were opened by the Western powers in prior to the East Asia region, Korea was an open harbor port led by Japan, which had experience installing an open harbor. In this circumstance there was a system that allowed foreigners to freely reside and exercise exertion rights (exercise one's extraterritoriality), which was a disadvantage to Joseon. In addition, the Japanese-style land area unit "Pyeong" was used in Japan's highly influential prefecture, and later became the basis of the unit of land used in the 1910 land survey project.
