The interpolation is used in many image processing applications such as image enhancement, de-interlacing/scan-rate conversion, wavelet transforms based on the lifting scheme, and so on. Among these, de-interlacing and scan-rate conversion are proposed for the digital TV applications. The de-interlacing algorithm can be classified into two categories. The first one uses only one field, called intra-field de-interlacing, and the other uses multiple field, called inter-field de-interlacing. In this paper, an efficient de-interlacing algorithm using spatial domain information is proposed far the interpolation of interlaced images. By efficiently estimating the directional correlations, improved interpolation accuracy has been achieved. In addition, the proposed method is simply structured and is easy to implement. Extensive simulations conducted for various images and video sequences have shown the efficacy of the proposed method with significant improvement over the previous intra-field do-interlacing methods in terms of the objective image quality as well as the subjective image quality.
In Fourier magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), the number of phase encoded signals is often reduced to minimize the duration of the studies and maintain adequate signal-to-noise ratio. However, this results in the well-known truncation artifact, whose effect manifests itself as blurring and ringing in the image domain. In this paper, we propose a new regularization method in the context of a Bayesian framework to reduce truncation artifact. Since the truncation artifact appears in t도 phase direction only, the use of conventional piecewise-smoothness constraints with symmetric neighbors may result in the loss of small details and soft edge structures in the read direction. Here, we propose more elaborate forms of constraints than the conventional piecewise-smoothness constraints, which can capture actual spatial information about the MR images. Our experimental results indicate that the proposed method not only reduces the truncation artifact, but also improves tissue regularity and boundary definition without oversmoothing soft edge regions.
Men should be able to do whatever they want to and want to safely protected at home which is special domain for them. The disabled live mentally uncomfortable lives at home which should be a place where they should be comfortable and convenient. Renovation projects started in Incheon since 2009 by commencing renovation projects for the disabled by the government and welfare centers. Since the project is a program supported by the government or welfare centers thus priority on renovation was decided and carried out by in-depth interview to decide areas to renovate because of limited budgets. This paper is aimed to propose plans for renovating homes according to priority for renovation for dwellers when renovating homes for the disabled with limited budgets. Renovating home for the disabled can be broadly divided into physical, environmental, esthetic renovations, and physical renovation is a basic renovation for daily lives without restrictions in living and include easy movements, accesses to each rooms and adequacy of movement, easily accesses related with easily accessible distance and height, safety to prevent accidents caused by physical inabilities. Environmental renovation is general supports becoming the base of daily living and include control for controlling lighting, heating, air quality for comfortable environments in living space and pleasantness to maintain bright and pleasant interior with sufficient light. Esthetic renovation includes expression of identity by expressing image of one self and visual effects or spatial consideration for hobbies to enjoy comfortable and rich lives.
DVC(Distributed Video Coding) techniques have been attracting a lot of research works since these enable us to implement the light-weight video encoder and to provide good coding efficiency by introducing the feedback channel. However, the feedback channel causes the decoder to increase the decoding complexity and requires very high decoding latency because of numerous iterative decoding processes. So, in order to reduce the decoding delay and then to implement in a real-time environment, this paper proposes several parity bit estimation methods which are based on the temporal correlation, spatial correlation and spatio-temporal correlations between LDPCA frames on each bit plane in the consecutive video frames in pixel-domain Wyner-Ziv video coding scheme and then the performances of these methods are compared in fast DVC scheme. Through computer simulations, it is shown that the adaptive spatio-temporal correlation-based estimation method and the temporal correlation-based estimation method outperform others for the video frames with the highly active contents and the low active contents, respectively. By using these results, the proposed estimation schemes will be able to be effectively used in a variety of different applications.

New communication and information technologies such as the Internet are space-adjusting technologies. The Internet changes the spatial proximity by improving the connections between people and organizations separated by geographical distance This paper examines the digital position of individual nation-states on a global cyberspace. The number of inter-domain hyperlinks embedded in websites for 47 nations was gathered using the AltaVista in 2001 Data were also obtained on the geographical distance among the nations. The results indicate that the u.s. is the most central nation on the global cyberspace, followed by the U.K., Germany, Australia, Canada, Italy, France, China and Japan. The most peripheral nations are Uruguay, Luxemburg, and UAE. It also examines the relationship between the digital positions of 47 nations and their physical locations. The results indicate that digital structure on the cyberspace is not significantly related to geographical distance among those nations.
Adequate postural control depends on the spatial and temporal integration of vestibular, visual, and somatosensory information. Especially, the musculoskeletal function is essential to maintain the postural control. The experimental studies was performed on the muscular activities in the lower extremities during maintaining and moving exercises on an unstable platform with Magneto Rheological(MR) dampers. The unstable platform of the developed system was controlled by electric currents to the MR dampers. A subject executed the maintaining and moving exercises which are presented through the display monitor. The electromyographies of the eight muscles in lower extremities were recorded and analyzed in the time and the frequency domain: the muscles of interest were rectus femoris(RF), biceps femoris(BF), tensor fasciae latae(TFL), vastus lateralis(VL), vastus medialis(VM), gastrocnemius(Ga), tibialis anterior(TA), Soleus(So). The experimental results showed that the muscular activities differed in the four moving exercises and the nine maintaining exercises. For the anterior-posterior pattern, the TA showed highest activities; for the left-right pattern, the TFL; for the 45, $-45^{\circ}$ pattern, the TFL and TA. Also, the rate of the increase in the muscular activities were affected by the condition of the unstable platform with MR dampers for the maintaining and moving exercises. The experimental results suggest that the choice of different maintaining and moving exercises could selectively train different muscles in various intensity. Futhermore, the findings suggested that the training using this system can improve the ability of postural control.
In this paper, we propose a new visual feature extraction method for content-based image retrieval(CBIR) based on wavelet transform which has both spatial-frequency characteristic and multi-resolution characteristic. We extract visual features for each frequency band in wavelet transformation and use them to CBIR. The lowest frequency band involves spacial information of original image. We extract L feature vectors using fuzzy homogeneity in the wavelet domain, which consider both the wavelet coefficients and the spacial information of each coefficient. Also, we extract 3 feature vectors wing the energy values of high frequency bands, and store those to image database. As a query, we retrieve the most similar image from image database according to the 10 largest homograms(normalized fuzzy homogeneity vectors) and 3 energy values. Simulation results show that the proposed method has good accuracy in image retrieval using 90 texture images.
The time domain methods of estimating the attenuation coefficient are generally based on the analysis of statisical properties of the reflected echoes form an attenuating medium. Hence, it is often required to have a large number of data samples in order to obtain a statistically stable estimation result. In the attenuation estimation problem, this means that many different speckle patterns are required in the spatial resolution volume of an attenLlation image. In this paper, by using the fact that the speckle pattern Is sensitive to the point spread function of the ultrasound beam, we suggest a method to generate the statiscally uncorrelated or slightly correlated data samples in a given region by rotating a linear transducer and carrying out lateral scans for all rotating angles. This technique is applied to the entropy method for attenuation estimation proposed recently by the authors where the performance is verified by experiments using a tissue equivalent phantom.
This paper proposes a digital image watermarking which is robust to geometric distortions using an independent component analysis(ICA) of fixed-point(FP) algorithm based on secant method. The FP algorithm of secant method is applied for better performance in a separation time and rate, and ICA is applied to reject the prior knowledges for original image, key, and watermark such as locations and size, etc. The proposed method embeds the watermark into the spatial domain of original image The proposed watermarking technique has been applied to lena, key, and two watermarks(text and Gaussian noise) respectively. The simulation results show that the proposed method has higher speed and better rate for extracting the original images than the FP algorithm of Newton method. And the proposed method has a watermarking which is robust to geometric distortions such as resizing, rotation, and cropping. Especially, the watermark of images with Gaussian noise has better extraction performance than the watermark with text since Gaussian noise has lower correlation coefficient than the text to the original and key images. The watermarking of ICA doesn't require the prior knowledge for the original images.

Digital watermarking is a technique used to hide information within digital media. Digital watermarking techniques can be classified as either robust watermarking or fragile watermarking. Robust watermarking techniques are generally used for the purpose of copyright protection. In addition, fragile watermarking techniques are used for the authentication and integrity verification of a digital image. Therefore, fragile watermarks should be easily breakable for trivial tampering of a watermarked image. This paper proposes an efficient fragile watermarking method for image tamper detection in the spatial domain. In the proposed method, a hash code and symmetric key encryption algorithm are used. The proposed method of inserting a watermark by dividing the original image into many blocks of small sizes is not weak against attacks, such as cut and paste. The proposed method can detect the manipulated parts of a watermarked image without testing the entire block of the image.
