This study examines the preliminary license and approval facilitation standards for improvements in quality for childcare centers focusing on the number of children, building space standards, facilities and equipment, and childcare program. Data from 48 caese was collected from childcare centers nationwide in Korea through a questionnaire and building plan. The first step for starting care licensing is to work out the ages and numbers of children within four or five age ranges. The second step is to work out the number of children as small, medium, or large considering staff to child ratios and building size. The Nnext step is to make a choice about childcare service quality classification as minimum, fair, or good, considering space requirements per child for the building, the classroom and the outdoor playground. The next step is to make a choice of space organization relating to service programs, considering the sleeping and eating area, indoor play area, toilet & washing facilities, classroom layouts such as cluster type, double zone type, single zone type, and others. Also, each room and entrance, office, kitchen, storage, laundry, teacher's area, and chilldren's area, need to be checked for space requirements and performances. The last step is to arrange the childcare program with the building and site plan. In conclusion childcare service quality will get better by upgrading of license regulation especially in minimum space requirements per child, corresponding with an increase in GNP and housing area per person. This is needed for childcare licensing in order to determine the quality level of childcare service.

This paper discusses the standards for disaster prevention and safety management of rail tunnel. The purpose is to establish safety management standards and methods of disaster prevention for each underground traffic spaces, after the full revision of the cause of accidents and its effects, the function and selection of safety equipment, and the efficiency and convenience of maintenance, standards based on prevention and reduction is proposed to reaction to disaster.

This study is on the interior design standards which is based on the user participicatiov. The design standards in office planning is relied on user participication with practical method and suitable survey item. On space programming and zonning phase, work relationship, visiting rate and characteristics of work can be applied. The rate to take desk-occupancy, information processing grade, the needs of side work table, visitor table and surplus storage space can help to get workstation unit type. The layout of units can be applied on the grade of communication and work-concetration.

This study was composed of series of guidance contents in the sub-field of spatial sense from the 7th curriculum according to the series theory by the level by Gagne & Briggs. As for the guidance contents in this field, this study discovered that it had ‘experiencing the various space senses’,‘operating it mentally (internalization)’, and ‘utilizing and expressing the space sense mathematically’ in order largely. The contents of series constitution by the subject and by the stage, a result of this research, will be helpful to the establishment of achievement standard and valuation standard by the stage.

According to "The regulations regarding the residential construction standards", residents' common spaces are restricted by the standards on building facilities. In a typical apartment complex, residents' communal facilities are represented by a children's playground, a elderly social station, and a management office. However, these residents' communal facilities do not reflect residents' composition characteristics. Multidisciplinary research and experimentation to enable the community of housing complex are being actively conducted. In these situation, we observed institutional improvement about installing standard of community space, and analysed the tendency. The purpose of this study is to propose practical institutions to review the institutional improvement. We conducted a case study where was renovated the community space according to the new standard. As a results, the installing standard of the community space has changed in the direction to increase the autonomy of resident. These results raise the practical performance of the community space, and it has the effect of increasing the satisfaction of the residential environment. The results of this study suggest an alternative to the institutional aspects and planning aspects for community activation in housing complex.

To evaluate the autofocusing performance of recent mobile phone cameras, it is necessary to determine the peak position of the center field MTF (Modulation Transfer Function), -known as the through focus MTF- of the module. However, the MTF peak position found by conventional methods deviates from the ideal position due to the focus scanning resolution of mobile phone cameras. This inaccurate peak position results in false judgements of the optical performance, leading to yield losses or customer complaints. An increase in the focus scanning resolution can address this problem, but the manufacturing UPH (Unit per Hour) level will also unfortunately increase as well, resulting in a loss of manufacturing capabilities. In this paper, several fitting models are studied to find an accurate MTF peak position within a short period of time. With an analysis of a large amount of manufacturing data, it is demonstrated that the fitting methods can reduce false judgements and simultaneously increase the capabilities of the manufacturing system.

In the launch mission, mission control systems and tracking systems need time synchronization for data monitoring and data analysis. There are several standards for time synchronization and an adequate standard is selected according to the requirement of time accuracy and cost among time synchronization standards. Oscillators are used to maintain time accuracy. There are some kinds of oscillators with diverse characteristics and an adequate oscillator can be adopted according to time accuracy. In this paper, we will specify characteristics of several oscillators and standards generally used for time synchronization. And we will also introduce TSDN(time synchronization and display network) for time synchronization in Naro Space Center.

Urban parks and open spaces provide the community residents with the most easily accessible source for outdoor recreation, contributing also to the improvement of quality of natural environment in urban area. The demands of urban residents' for more and better green area are ever-increasing. However, the level of most urban open spaces which are easily accessible for residents are not satisfactory to meet the residents' demand in availability and in quality as well. Most existing urban open spaces are simply built of green areas only or have been developed in almost identical design with little consideration for individual uniqueness of the site. When developing neighbourhood parks in urban housing complexes, for example, little consideration is being given to topographical conditions, interrelation with the adjacent green area, or viability of the urban ecosystem. In many cases, urban park development projects are being done with serious negligence of natural properties of the site, by even destroying existing healthy woodlands. for instance. The objectives of this study are; -To survey on the domestic and the overseas cases of regulatory systems, development status and planning methods for urban open space. -To identify underlying issues of residental park developments in urban housing projects and establish appropriate improvement measures thereof, by studing and analyzing current-use data of developed urban parks and management status thereof. -To establish improved standards for urban open space planning, by integrating above surveys and studies, and recommendation for revision of related legislation is also presented to implement these standards.

This research proposes the importance of physical environment if integrated early childhood education. For a successful integration of children's education, we processed fundamental research on requirements of facility and equipments, looking at related standards and code on handicapped person's convenience facility. Also, this research alms at providing first step to establish evaluation method and quality assurance standards of integrated child care facility, regarding space planning of handicapped children. By examining home and abroad material and analyzing handicapped children's convenience facility standards, this research pursues improving the basis of planning criteria. As present criteria of relevant regulations appears not to handle detailed facility standards, and the handicapped people's facility is for childhood education, it is necessary first to differentiate indispensable equipments from optional one, then categorize them into more specific needs.

The first sounding rocket in Korea, KSR-4205 has been under the development at Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), and is expected to be launched in 1993 to measure the vertical ozone profile over the Korean Peninsula. The KSR-4205 is expected to provide the first in situ meastulement of ozone concentrations over the Korean Peninsula. An optical ozone detector has been developed at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science (KRISS), and its calibration has been completed recently. Also, sun-sensor has been developed for measurement of the angle between the sun and the KSR-4205. In this paper, measurement principles of the ozone detector in KSR-4205, its calibration data, ozone measurement procedure and data reduction algoriHun are presented with sample calculations.
