  • In this paper, we present an algorithm for synthesizing intermediate view image from a stereoscopic pair of images. An image of multiview is need for people in order to easily recognize 3D image. However, if many cameras are use for that, not only does system get more complicated but also transmission rating cause a big trouble. Hence, stereo images are photograph and issue on the sending side and algorithm to generate several intermediate view image is able to be use on the receiving side. The proposed method is based on disparity space image. First of all, disparity space image that is depicted by the gap of pixel followed by disparity of stereo image is generated. Disparity map is made by utilizing disparity space image for searching for optimal disparity path then eventual intermediate view image is generated after occlusion region which does not match is processed. Experimental results illustrate the performance of the proposed technique and we obtained a high quality image of more than 30 dB PSNR.

  • When we think about visual art, we can't pass over the matter of images and spaces. An image is fixed in a painting space. If the image were posited in the river of time, it would be changed as time flowed on. Its image might be created, rigged, transfigured or it might vanish or remain as traces. The image is changed through the process of expressing them on the painting surfaces. In paintings the changing of the image is caused not only by working processes but also recognizing the objects. In modernist painting, the idea of space was important, but in postmodernist view, the idea of time becomes essential. In this thesis I will focus on the matter of time and image of painting in the late 20th century. Studying the relationship of image and time is not familiar because we had considered the space as being more related to painting distinction than time. Presently, the concept of space can't be divided from that of time. In Physics, they recently called it as a united concept- time-space. Painting space also becomes one asking and recieve the concept of time actively. Now in painting, time is no more a supporting matter but becomes a major matter. In the late 20th century, we can find many trials to catch the change of images as time flowes on and express them as a trace through using verioty media. One of the way to drawing the change of images as time passes could be seen through various joint images in one painting space and another in the traces of one image. The other could be done by using new media such as computer in the example of fractal art. It shows the images chainging of practically as time changes. New understanding about time of this era has to be affirmatively accepted because it reflects the contemporary cultural situation and in art, the concern about the possiblity of it and finding new medias which has to go on.

  • This paper presents a new observation system which is useful to observe the scene of the remote controlled robot vision. This system is composed of a motionless camera and head motion detector with a motion sensor. The motionless camera has a fish eye lens and is for observing a hemisphere space. The head motion detector has a motion sensor is for defining an arbitrary subspace of the hemisphere space from fish eye lens. Thus processing the angular information from the motion sensor appropriately, the direction of face is estimated. However, since the fisheye image is distorted, it is unclear image. The partial domain of a fish eye image is selected by head motion, and this is converted to perspective image. However, since this conversion enlarges the original image spatially and is based on discrete data, crevice is generated in the converted image. To solve this problem, interpolation based on an intensity of the image is performed for the crevice in the converted image (space problem). This paper provides the experimental results of the proposed observation system with the head motion detector and perspective image conversion using the proposed conversion and interpolation methods, and the adequacy and improving point of the proposed techniques are discussed.

  • Since it is important to understand data acquiring characteristics through relationship between spatial types and spatial elements and apply it to spatial plans for smooth communication between designer and user of space, the conclusions gained from analysis of data acquiring characteristics of spatial elements through image evaluation by types of interior space can be summarized as in the followings: First, for the amount of acquired data by types of interior space, it shows that the acquired amount of data is to change by types and data acquiring method (phrase and image) even though the spatial elements are same. Second, for the data acquiring process of spatial types by gender, it shows that there is a big difference in acquiring of data according to the evaluation method by phrase and image. Third, for the amount of acquired data of spatial types by gender, it shows that there is a difference between male and female, which is by "classic ${\rightarrow}$ modern ${\rightarrow}$ natural" in case of male and "classic ${\rightarrow}$ natural ${\rightarrow}$ modern" in case of female. regarding both of phrase and image. Fourth, for the evaluation by gender, it shows that there is a deviation in the value of difference according to the elements by which data acquiring characteristics evaluate space. It is considered that this deviation characteristic is in need of reflection in the process of spatial evaluation. This study analyzed data acquiring characteristics of space user's spatial elements through image evaluation by types of space to understand how data acquiring would be changed of spatial elements according to type and gender. Through this study, it expects to make clear that, when a designer is planning a certain space, if the space can be a space for the user by understanding of which elements should be exposed to users by types to acquire more data.

  • The existential space concept which introduced the sense of place that began emerging recently together with the change of space concept results from people's fundamental existential humane aspect as the subject of perceptive experience. The tendencies of enlargement layering and diversification which we can see in contemporary architecture imply the possibility that elements of urban image can be incorporated into interior design. This study utilizes Kevin Lynch's theory which tries to relate environment to existential space. In this study we re-analyze and apply Lynch's $\ulcorner$the Theory of Urban Image$\lrcorner$to interior space and using the conclusion from a case study examine the applicability of the theory about visual perception to interior design. This study considers a new method of analysis to perceive and grasp interior space through the understanding of the cognitive map and image concept.

  • Electro-Optical Camera (EOC) is the main payload of the KOMPSAT-1 satellite to perform the mission of cartography that builds up a digital map of Korean territory including a digital terrain elevation map. This paper discusses the issues of the digital image simulation of EOC for the generation of EOC simulated scene as taken by EOC at 685km altitude on orbit. For the purpose, simulation work has been performed with the sensor models of EOC and the satellite platform motions models through image chain analysis from the illumination source (Sun) to a simulated image output in digital number. MODTRAN fur radiance calculation, MTF models of optics, detector and motions of EOC for system point spread function (PSF), and signal chain equations for digital number output are described. Several noise models of EOC are also considered. The final output is the EOC simulated image in digital number. The simulation technique can be used in several phase of a spaceborne electro-optical system development project, feasibility study phase, design, manufacturing, test phases, ground image processing phases, and so on.

  • Removing noise which occurs inevitably when taking image data has been a big concern. There is a way to raise signal-to-noise ratio and it is regarded as the only way, image stacking. Image stacking is averaging or just adding all pixel values of multiple pictures taken of a specific area. Its performance and reliability are unquestioned, but its weaknesses are also evident. Object with fast proper motion can be vanished, and most of all, it takes too long time. So if we can handle single shot image well and achieve similar performance, we can overcome those weaknesses. Recent developments in deep learning have enabled things that were not possible with former algorithm-based programming. One of the things is generating data with more information from data with less information. As a part of that, we reproduced stacked image from single shot image using a kind of deep learning, conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN). r-band camcol2 south data were used from SDSS Stripe 82 data. From all fields, image data which is stacked with only 22 individual images and, as a pair of stacked image, single pass data which were included in all stacked image were used. All used fields are cut in $128{\times}128$ pixel size, so total number of image is 17930. 14234 pairs of all images were used for training cGAN and 3696 pairs were used for verify the result. As a result, RMS error of pixel values between generated data from the best condition and target data were $7.67{\times}10^{-4}$ compared to original input data, $1.24{\times}10^{-3}$. We also applied to a few test galaxy images and generated images were similar to stacked images qualitatively compared to other de-noising methods. In addition, with photometry, The number count of stacked-cGAN matched sources is larger than that of single pass-stacked one, especially for fainter objects. Also, magnitude completeness became better in fainter objects. With this work, it is possible to observe reliably 1 magnitude fainter object.

  • 3D reconstruction of a human face from an image sequence remains an important problem in computer vision. We propose a method, based on a factorization algorithm, that reconstructs a 3D face model from short image sequences exhibiting rotational motion. Factorization algorithms can recover structure and motion simultaneously from one image sequence, but they usually require that all feature points be well tracked. Under rotational motion, however, feature tracking often fails due to occlusion and frame out of features. Additionally, the paucity of images may make feature tracking more difficult or decrease reconstruction accuracy. The proposed 3D reconstruction approach can handle short image sequences exhibiting rotational motion wherein feature points are likely to be missing. We implement the proposal as a reconstruction method; it employs image sequence division and a feature tracking method that uses Active Appearance Models to avoid the failure of feature tracking. Experiments conducted on an image sequence of a human face demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Users' demands on the space are changing in variety. These demands include reasonable space and form, harmonious composition with surroundings and esthetic satisfaction that could be brought by personal tastes and preferences. In addition, models that are introduced from designing process and from various forms tend to lack objective decision making standard. Accordingly it is difficult to find a clear alternative plan and process. In an effort to solve these problems, the objects of this study are; to propose an analysis model of image and space by using image process techniques that are on study in the field of artificial intelligence based on acquisition of digital image and to verify the application possibilities of such analysis model, 'Isovist' on quantitative analysis. The model can be applied with variable analysis model, as digital image process and other analysis model such as 'Isovist' It is possible that further study can complement problems from this study.
