  • This study deals with the characteristic of refrigerant for heat-treatment deformation control of SCM415 steel. The control of heat-treatment deformation must need the progress of production parts for an industry machine. Most of the deformation is occurred on unequal cooling. The unequal cooling is occurred by a property of quenching refrigeration. When a heated metal is deposited in the refrigeration, the cooling speed is so slow in early period of cooling because of occurring a steam-curtain. After more cooling, the steam-curtain is destroyed. In this progress, the cooling speed is very fast. The object of this study is to control the deformation of heat-treatment for the part of the industry machine by improving the conditions of quenching. The cooling curves and cooling rates of water, oil and polymer solution are obtained and illustrated. From the characteristics of the quenching refrigerant, the effects of heat-treatments on the thermal deformation and fatigue strength are also investigated.

  • Semicrystalline poly(ethylene terephthalate) (cPET)/amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) with isophthalic acid (aPET) blends with 100/0, 75/25, 50/50, 25/75, and 0/100 by weight ratios were dissolved in a mixture of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA)/methylene chloride (MC) (50/50, v/v) and electrospun via the electrospinning technique. Solution properties such as solution viscosity, surface tension and electric conductivity were determined. The solution viscosity slightly decreased as aPET content increased, while there was no difference in surface tension with respect to aPET composition. The characteristics of the electro spun cPET/aPET blend nonwovens were investigated in terms of their morphology, pore size and gas permeability. All these measurements were carried out before and after heat treatment for various blend weight ratios. The average diameter of the fibers decreased with increasing aPET composition due to the decrease in viscosity. Also, the morphology of the electrospun cPET/aPET blend nonwovens was changed by heat treatment. The pore size and pore size distribution varied greatly from a few nanometers to a few microns. The gas permeability after heat treatment was lower than that before heat treatment because of the change of the morphology.

  • Because of beautiful glossy and color, the value of gold leverage is very high in Europe. For improve the quality of white gold, we performed heat treatment on 14K white gold alloys at various age-hardening conditions. Age-hardening behavior and the related phase transformation changes were studied to elucidate the hardening mechanism of 14K white gold alloys. For solid solution treatment [ST], casted 14K white gold alloy specimens were treated at high temperature ($750^{\circ}C$) during 30 minute, and the specimens dropped to water for quenching immediately. For Age-hardening treatment [AT], the specimens were treated at various temperatures ($250^{\circ}C{\sim}300^{\circ}C$). After the heat treatment, we observed increased hardness from 144 Hv to 214 Hv by Vicker's hardness tester. Variation of the grain size measured by optical microscopy (OM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images. By electron probe micro-analysis (EPMA) mapping analysis, we investigated that irregular particles were changed uniformly. After heat treatment, 14K white gold alloys showed improved hardness and became uniformity of grain size by age-hardening treatment.

  • The microstructure, electrical conductivity and hardness variation of an AZ91-5wt%Sn Mg alloy sample during a solid-solution and aging heat treatment were instigated by optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction and by Rockwell hardness techniques in this study. The XRD result shows that the main phases in the as-casted alloy are ${\alpha}$-Mg, $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ and $Mg_2Sn$. From the SEM images of the AZ91-5wt%Sn Mg alloy after the solution treatment, the $Mg_{17}Al_{12}$ phases in the alloy were found to have dissolved into the matrix with an increase in the holding time during the solution treatment, but $Mg_2Sn$ phases were clearly observable. The highest peak hardness of the AZ91-5wt%Sn Mg alloy is 82HRE at an aging temperature of $200^{\circ}C$.

  • Titanium Alloys used in this experiment has an good corrosion resistance and specific strength, and is the new material developed for medical supplies living goods. In this study the rolled titanium alloy is done by annealing, solution heat-treatment and aging and then is worked by wire EDM. With changing the process conditions, the process properties of surface hardness, surface roughness, shape of process surface and the analysis of ingredients are measured through experiment repeating main cut and finish cut. It is confirmed to gain good measure values as increasing the number of processing of wire EDM. In this experiment the phenomena of processing is studied and the appropriate process condition is proposed.

  • This study was carried out to investigate the effect of microstructure on the damping capacity of 12Cr martensite heat-resisting steels, in case of the specimen with martensite phase contained the volume faction of ferrite phases, under 5%. The damping capacity was decreased with the increase of solution treatment temperature and time. While it was increased with the increase of tempering temperature and time. The damping capacity was higher in case of specimen with martensite single phase structure than the specimen with martensite phase contained of ferrite phases.

  • For the well-preparation of the superconducting wire by electrophoresis, the control of the cracking on the YBCO, BSCCO superconductor deposited on Ag wire in acetone and buthanol solution with PEG(poly-ethylenglycol) was investigated with XRD and SEM analysis. After deposition, drying and heat treatment process, the cracks on the deposited surface of YBCO and BSCCO samples was clearly removed and decreased, which was perpared in suspension with addition of PEG from 1 to 3ml. However, in the case of the addition rate of PEG in acetone suspension was exceeded in 3ml, BSCCO superconductor deposited on Ag wire was slightly melted at 90$0^{\circ}C$ which was the same heat treatment condition of other samples with different additin rate of PEG. In the process of electrophoretic deposition, drying and heat treatment, PEG added into the suspension solution as a binder was very useful to prepare the crack-free thick film-wire of YBCO and BSCCO.
