소결층 내에서의 코크스와 무연탄의 연소 특성 비교 연구 (A Study on the Combustion Characteristics of Coke and Anthracite in an Iron Ore Sintering Bed)

  • Coal combustion in an iron ore sintering bed is a key parameter that determines quality of the sintered ores and productivity of the process. In this study, effects of the different types of coal - coke and anthracite - on the combustion in the iron ore sintering bed are investigated by modeling and experiment. Fuel characteristics of coke and anthracite are observed through a set of basic analysis and thermo-gravimetric analysis. Coke has a higher reactivity than anthracite due to the difference of surface area and density, and these characteristics are reflected in the 1-D unsteady simulation of the iron ore sintering bed. Calculation results show that different reactivity of the fuel can affect the bed combustion.

  • Waste combustion above a grate is the core process of incineration systems, stability of which should be guaranteed for emission minimization. However, complicated reactions and heat and mass transfer phenomena make understanding the process difficult. One dimensional bed combustor with a numerical combustion model is utilized to investigate the combustion process of the bed, using cubic wood particles as a simulated fuel. Bed combustion behavior is characterized with apparent flame propagation speed, which has close relationship with air supply rate and chemical and physical characteristics of the fuel. Base on the availability of oxygen, two distinct reaction zone is identified; the oxygen-limited and the reaction-limited zone leading to the extinction by excessive convection cooling. The numerical modeling shows good agreement with the experimental results. The transient bed combustion behavior of local temperature and oxygen consumption rate is adequately reproduced. The numerical model is extended to model the waste bed combustion of a commercial incineration plant, which shows meaningful results as well.

  • Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustor(CFBC) has been used for the incineration of waste sewage sludge and for the power generation. In this study hydrodynamic characteristics of two phase flow have been studied in a riser section of CFBC. A lab-scale riser is designed and SiC (Geldart type B) is used for solid particles. Experiments are performed by controlling the fluidization parameters including superficial velocity and secondary air to primary air ratio for determination of solid holdup profiles in the riser. Superficial velocities of each fluidization regime are well agreed with results predicted by a theoretical model. The results show that the axial solid holdup distributions calculated by measuring differential static pressures in the riser are found to show a basic profile described by a simple exponential function. Our flow regime during experiments mainly belongs to fast fluidization regime for particle size of 300${\mu}m$. As the SA/PA ratio increases, solid holdup in the lower dense region of the riser increases.

  • Internally Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustor(ICFBC) has been used for the incineration of waste sewage sludge. Experiments are performed by controlling the fluidization parameters including superficial velocity, particle diameter and secondary air to primary air ratio for determination of solid holdup profiles in the riser. Our flow regime during experiments mainly belongs to the onset of turbulent regime(for d_{p}:300{\mu}m) and fast fluidization regime(for d_{p}:100{\mu}m). Superficial velocities of each regime are well agreed with results obtained by other researches. The results show that the axial solid holdup distributions calculated by measuring differential static pressures in the riser are found to show a basic profile described by a simple exponential function. As the particle size decreases, solid holdup along the riser is more uniformly distributed. To prove these experimental results, numerical calculations are being performed.

  • Thermo-fluid characteristics in coke oven, sintering machine and blast furnace in iron-making facility are key processes related to the quality and productivity of the pig iron. Solid material in the processes usually forms a bed in a gas flow. For simulation of the processes by mathematical model, the solid beds are idealized to be a continuum and a reacting solid flow in the gas flow. Governing equations in the form of partial differential equations for the solid material can be constructed based on this assumption. Iron ore sintering bed is simulated and limited amount of parametric study have been performed. The results have a good agreement with the experimental results or physical phenomena, which shows the validity and applicability of the model.

  • It is important to clarify the mechanisms of molten-fuel-pool sloshing behavior that might be encountered during a core disruptive accident of sodium-cooled fast reactors. In this study, motivated by acquiring some evidence for understanding the characteristics of this behavior at more realistic conditions, a number of experiments are newly performed by injecting nitrogen gas into a water pool with the accumulation of solid particles. To achieve comprehensive understanding, various parameters including particle bed height, particle size, density, shape, gas pressure along with the gas-injection duration, were employed. It is found that due to the different interaction mechanisms between solid particles and the gas bubble injected, three kinds of regimes, termed respectively as the bubble-impulsion dominant regime, the transitional regime and the bed-inertia dominant regime, could be identified. The performed analyses also suggest that under present conditions, all our experimental parameters employed can have noticeable impact on the regime transition and resultant sloshing intensity (e.g. maximum elevation of water level at pool peripheries). Knowledge and fundamental data from this work will be used for the future verifications of fast reactor severe accident codes in China.

  • A numerical investigation of the fuel concentration field in a fluidized bed has been carried out for the scale-up of a fluidized bed combustor (FBC). A two-dimensional transient model is developed using the two-phase fluidization, a simple chemical reaction, and lateral solid mixing theories. The uniformity of fuel concentration distributions is controlled by the location and the number of fuel feeders, fluidizing velocities and the bed-heights. While larger bubbles owing to greater fluidizing velocities enhance the fuel-dispersion in the bed, they have adverse effects on fuel combustion and thus result in the increase of fuel concentration, since a greater bubble means a larger bypass which reduces gas-exchange rates between bubble and emulsion phases. Average or maximum values of the bed fuel concentration are utilized as criteria for the scale-up from a pilot/lab-scale to a commercial-size bed.

유전자재조합 단백질 회수 공정에서의 고체상 재접힘 기술: 여러 바이오의약 단백질에의 적용 사례 (Solid-Phase Refolding Technology in Recombinant Proteins Recovery: Application Examples to Various Biopharmaceutical Proteins)

  • 최근 전통적인 액체상 공정을 대체하는 기술로서 고체 담체와 단백질 사이의 '생물인식' 기능을 이용하는 새로운 생물공정기술이 개발되고 있다. 통상 고체 담체로는 표면에 특정한 기능기가 노출되어 있는 크로마토그래피용 담체를 사용한다. 단백질의 반응이나 상호작용이 단백질이 담체 표면에 부착되어 있는 상태에서 일어나기 때문에 이 '고체상 기술'은 액체상 기술에 비해 뚜렷한 장점을 갖고 있다. 고체상 재접힘은 변성제에 의해 용해된 내포체 형태의 재조합 단백질을 이온교환수지 표면에 흡착시켜 시작한다. 변성제를 단백질 주위로부터 서서히 제거시키면서 고유의 3차 구조로 재접힘시킨다. 재접힘이 완료되면 염 구배와 같은 전통적인 방법에 의해 재접힘된 단백질을 정제된 상태로 용출시킨다. 이 개념은 '확장층 흡착 재접힘'에도 연장 적용된다. 세포파쇄액에 변성제를 첨가하여 용해한 내포체 단백질은 확장층 흡착 크로마토그래피용 Streamline 담체에 흡착되고 세포찌꺼기와 불순 단백질들은 확장층 사이로 빠져 칼럼 밖으로 제거된다. 흡착된 목적 단백질은 고체상 재접힘 방법에 의해 재접힘 된 후 용출된다. 수년간 연구 발전되어 온이 새로운 재접힘 기술은 정제수율 향상, 공정 단계 감축, 공정 시간 및 부피 감소에 따라 생물의약공정의 경제성을 크게 향상시킬 수 있는 것으로 증명되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 실험실에서 수행한 여러 생물의약용 단백질들을 대상으로 한 연구 실험 자료를 바탕으로 고체상 재접힘 기술의 적용 사례를 서술하였다.
