준평등전계에서의 Dry-Air 노점과 고체절연물 재질 및 형상에 따른 연면방전 특성 연구 (A Study of Surface Discharge Characteristics for Dew-Point of Dry-Air and Materials or Shapes of Solid Insulator in Quasi-Uniform Field)

  • This study investigates the surface discharge characteristics of solid insulators by varying their materials, their shapes, and the dew-point of dry-air. The methodology of this study is that a quasi-uniform field is first applied to a test chamber. Then, the chamber is filled with dry-air as an insulation gas which pressure is varied from 1 to 6atm while applying an AC voltage to the chamber. The used solid insulators are teflon, polycarbonate, and bakelite. As the dew-point is lower and the pressure of dry-air is higher, the flashover voltage of all solid insulators increases more. When each characteristic of the solid insulators is compared under the same gas pressure, the flashover voltage of teflon is the highest. Then, the flashover voltage of polycarbonate is higher than that of bakelite. Moreover, it is observed that the flashover voltage increases as the diameter and the thickness of each solid insulator become larger and thicker, respectively. However, the thickness of the solid insulators is more critical for increasing the flashover voltage than their diameter.

  • Electrical treeing occurrence is caused by some defect in solid insulator. Those are accompany the PD(partial discharge) occurrence. And lifetime of the insulator is affected by PD. So, detection of electrical treeing is important thing as this view. Especially, detection of the end treeing is more important and have meaning for industrial engineering because concerned with maintenance and replacement of equipment. In this paper, evaluation of treeing process were studied and PCA(principle component analysis)-LDA(linear discriminant analysis) as classification method were used. The result is present the good recognition.

Kevlar/EPDM 내열고무의 압력 변화에 따른 열반응 비교 (A Comparison with Thermal Reaction Characteristic of Kevlar/EPDM Internal Insulator by Change of Chamber Pressure)

  • 내열고무 성능평가 모사시험장치를 이용하여 고체로켓추진기관 연소관의 내부단열을 위해 사용하는 Kevlar/EPDM 내열고무의 압력변화에 따른 열반응 특성을 비교하였다. 연소실 유효평균압력 및 유효연소시간은 각각 1,030 psi, 35.86 s 및 1,406 psi, 36.63 s이었다. 시험후 시편의 표면 상태는 차이가 없었으며, 열파괴두께는 각각 4.10 mm 및 4.18 mm이었다. 열반응 상수 ${\xi}$, ${\zeta}$ 및 열파괴 속도 $V_{TD}$는 각각 0.7839, -0.1646, 0.1328 및 0.7836, -0.1730, 0.1346이었다. Kevlar/EPDM 내열고무의 열반응 특성은 압력변화에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다.

복합고체절연물의 극저온 절연성능 평가를 위한 임펄스 내전압시험 (Impulse Tests for a Composite Solid Insulator for High Voltage Superconducting Power Applications)

  • High voltage insulation in cryogenic environment is one of big issues for development of superconducting power application, such as superconducting fault current limiter, transformer, transmission cable, and so on. We had proposed a composite solid insulator composed of plastics and polymer insulation sheets for a use of high voltage superconducting power applications. It is well known that the G10 FRP keeps its mechanical strength at very low temperature and the PPLP is very good insulator adopted as insulations for superconducting transmission cables. The composition of these two materials will show very good electrical and mechanical properties adequate for the insulation components of superconducting power applications, such as bushing, insulation barrier, and even for a cryostat. Dielectric strengths of prepared samples were measured at the temperature of boiling point of liquid nitrogen at atmospheric pressure, which will be presented in this paper to show a usefulness of this technique.

Towards searching for Majorana fermions in topological insulator nanowires

  • Developing a gate-tunable, scalable, and topologically-protectable supercurrent qubit and integrating it into a quantum circuit are crucial for applications in the fields of quantum information technology and topological phenomena. Here we propose that the nano-hybrid supercurrent transistors, a superconducting quantum analogue of a transistor, made of topological insulator nanowire would be a promising platform for unprecedented control of both the supercurrent magnitude and the current-phase relation by applying a voltage on a gate electrode. We believe that our experimental design will help probing Majorana state in topological insulator nanowire and establishing a solid-state platform for topological supercurrent qubit.

성층 절연물의 절연파괴전압에 관한 연구 (Study on the break-down voltage of laminated insulators)

  • Laminated insulators are largely used in the insulation of electric apparatus. This reason is based on the fact that the solid state insulators meet to electrical break-down by the weak spot theory. Thus the break-down voltage of the laminated insulators are generally affected by the density, distribution and the form of the weakspot contained in the each laminated thin insulator. In this experiment the effects of the characterics of weak spots are not studied, but the effects of the number of lamination and the pressure applied on the laminated insulator on its break-down voltage are investigated experimentaly, and got some interesting results which are reparted as follows.

  • In this paper, we developed 3 dimensional Surface Charge Method which could calculate electric fields inside GIS with a small void in solid insulator or with a metal impurity. We find a metal impurity makes much more non-uniform electric field distribution inside GIS than a small void. We also find electric field is much more increased when a metal impurity is close to solid insulator surface at high voltage conductor.

  • 고체로켓 추진기관의 연소관 내부에 사용되는 연소관단열재의 열반응 특성을 평가하기 위한 모사시험장치를 개발하였다. 연소실 압력 2,500 psi, 연소시간 40 s까지 시험을 할 수 있으며, 삭마가 일어나는 조건에 대해 재료의 열반응 특성을 확인할 수 있고, 여러 시편을 동시에 상대 비교할 수 있다. 시험 장치의 안전성을 확인하기 위하여 연소실 유효평균압력 878 psi, 유효연소시간 10.7 s, 연소가스속도 100 m/s 조건에서 각기 다른 시편 4 종을 동시에 장착하여 시험을 수행하였으며, 열반응 특성 분석에 필요한 기본 데이터들, 즉 연소실의 압력-시간 선도, 재료 내부에서의 온도-시간 선도, 재료의 열파괴두께를 획득하였다.

  • A functionally graded material (FGM) spacer, which the distribution of dielectric permittivity inside an insulator changes spatially, can considerably reduce the electric field concentration around a high-voltage electrode and along the gas-insulator interface when compared to a conventional spacer with a uniform permittivity distribution. In this research, we propose the FGM spacer with an elliptical permittivity distribution instead of that with a distribution of dielectric permittivity varying along a radial direction only in order to improve efficiently the insulation capability. The optimal design of the elliptical FGM spacer configuration is performed by using the response surface methodology (RSM) combined with the steepest descent method (SDM).

친환경 가스 중 전극과 고체절연체의 불량접촉에 관한 절연진단연구 (Study on Insulation Diagnosis of Poor Contact between Electrode and Solid Insulator in Eco-Gas)

  • This paper presents the characteristics of partial discharge and radiated electromagnetic waves in the existence of a poor contact for the insulation diagnosis of eco-friendly power equipment. AC surface discharge experiment was conducted to simulate the poor contact between a hive voltage electrode (anode) and a solid insulator in $N_2/O_2$ mixture gas under a non-uniform field. The partial discharge voltage to be measured at 0.3MPa increased with the increase of the poor contact gap and was saturated with the gap. In addition to the partial discharge characteristics, it was verified that the defect of the poor contact can be diagnosed using the radiated electromagnetic waves due to the partial discharge, which measured by a biconical EMC antenna and a spectrum analyzer.
