두께 방향의 와인딩 각도 변화를 고려한 필라멘트 와인딩 된 압력탱크의 해석 (Analysis of Filament Wound Pressure Tank Considering Winding Angle Variation in Thickness Direction)

  • Filament wound pressure vessels have been studied for the efficient design tool to consider the variation of fiber angles through-the thickness direction. Filament winding patterns were simulated from semi-geodesic fiber path equation to calculate fiber path on arbitrary surface. Finite element analyses were performed considering fiber angle variation in longitudinal and thickness directions by ABAQUS. For the finite element modeling of the pressure tank, the 3-dimensional layered solid element was utilized. From the stress results of pressure tanks, maximum stress criterion in transverse direction was applied to modify material properties for failed region. In the end of each load increment, resultant layer stresses were compared with a failure criterion and properties were reduced to 1/10 for a failed layer. Results of progressive failure analysis were compared with two experimental data.

An embedded crack model for failure analysis of concrete solids

  • We present a quadrilateral finite element with an embedded crack that can be used to model tensile fracture in two-dimensional concrete solids and the crack growth. The element has kinematics that can represent linear jumps in both normal and tangential displacements along the crack line. The cohesive law in the crack is based on rigid-plasticity with softening. The required material data for the concrete failure analysis are the constants of isotropic elasticity and the mode I softening curve. The results of two well known tests are presented in order to illustrate very satisfying performance of the presented approach to simulate failure of concrete solids.

  • This study is to develop a automatic design program of mechanical elements as the integrated system which can create automatically 3-dimensional solid and surface model using visualLISP. By the applying developed system to CAE system, the following objects are realized. At first, constructing the library of automatic design program for unexperienced design engineer, the 3-dimensional modeling of mechanical elements can be obtained easily. at second, the 3-dimensional model for ratchet wheel design is created by finete element model of CAE system and the optimal design condition of key way.

Linear elastic mechanical system interacting with coupled thermo-electro-magnetic fields

  • A fully-coupled thermodynamic-based transient finite element formulation is proposed in this article for electric, magnetic, thermal and mechanic fields interactions limited to the linear case. The governing equations are obtained from conservation principles for both electric and magnetic flux, momentum and energy. A full-interaction among different fields is defined through Helmholtz free-energy potential, which provides that the constitutive equations for corresponding dual variables can be derived consistently. Although the behavior of the material is linear, the coupled interactions with the other fields are not considered limited to the linear case. The implementation is carried out in a research version of the research computer code FEAP by using 8-node isoparametric 3D solid elements. A range of numerical examples are run with the proposed element, from the relatively simple cases of piezoelectric, piezomagnetic, thermoelastic to more complicated combined coupled cases such as piezo-pyro-electric, or piezo-electro-magnetic. In this paper, some of those interactions are illustrated and discussed for a simple geometry.

  • Many techniques have been developed to evaluate the structural integrity for the traction motor with squirrel cage. However, the former approaches are not appropriate to our problems and there is no reliable specification for evaluation of squirrel cage motor. In this study, an improved boundary condition and the criteria for evaluation are proposed. Using 3-dimensional solid element, finite element model is generated. The number of meshes can be reduced by considering the symmetry of geometry. Stress analyses are carried out for three types of traction motors.

프로펠러 날개의 동적 구조해석 시스템 개발 (A Dynamic Structural Analysis System for Propeller Blades)

  • Propeller blades have complex airfoil section type geometry and the thickness is continuously varied to both its length and cord-wise direction. in the present research, the finite element analysis program PROSTEC (Propeller Stress Evaluation Code) is developed to calculate the structural responses of propeller blades in irregular ship wake field. To represent the curved and skewed geometry of propeller blades accurately, 20-node curved solid element using the quadratic shape function is adopted. Input data for the analysis including the geometry and pressure distribution of propeller blades can be generated automatically from the propeller design program. And to visualize the results of analysis on windows system conveniently, the post processor PROSTEC-POST is developed.

벨로우즈 자동 모델링과 구조해석 (Automated Modeling and Structure Analysis of Bellows)

  • Pro-program function of Pro/E has been utilized to expedite the design process of bellows. Design parameters selected for bellows design are manipulated to obtain the shapes user specified. User-oriented function may automate the bellows design process and this function may enable to reduce the design time remarkably. Generated bellows solid model has been applied to study of design sensitivity and optimum design. Among the selected design parameters, thickness of bellows affects system response most. Control-ring installed bellows may reduce the stress and prove to be an effective element for heavy load. The finite element analysis results combined with 3D model generated by pro-program may provide the feasible design directions to the bellows designer.

An effective solution of electro-thermo-structural problem of uni-axially graded material

  • The aim of this contribution is to present a new link/beam finite element suitable for electrothermo-structural analysis of uni-axially graded materials. Continuous polynomial variation of geometry and material properties will be considered. The element matrix and relations for solution of Joule's heat (and its distribution to the element nodes) have been established in the sense of a sequence method of a coupled problem solution. The expression for the solution of nodal forces caused by a continuously distributed temperature field has also been derived. The theoretical part of this contribution is completed by numerical validation, which proves the high accuracy and effectiveness of the proposed element. The results of the performed experiments are compared with those obtained using the more expensive multiphysical link element and solid element of the FEM program Ansys. The proposed finite element could be used not only in the multiphysical analysis of the current paths and actuators but also in analysis of other 1D construction parts made of composite or uni-axially graded materials.

축대칭 문제에서의 동적 응력확대계수의 계산 (Numerical Computation of Dynamic Stress Intensity Factors in Axisymmetric Problems)

  • 본 논문에서는 균열을 지닌 축대칭 문제를 해석하기 위하여 시간적분형 운동방정식을 바탕으로 한 유한요소 해법을 제시한다. 유한요소메쉬는 8절점 등매개변수 사변형 요소와 균열선단에서의 1/4절점 삼각형 특이요소로 구성되며, 동적 응력확대계수는 균열면상의 1/4절점의 y방향 변위로부터 구한다. 제시된 해법의 정확성과 타당성을 검증하기 위하여 내부에 원환균열을 지닌 무한 탄성체가 균열면상에서 충격하중을 받을 때의 동적 응력확대계수를 계산하고 타 수치결과와 비교 검토하였다. 응용 예제로서 원환균열과 원주균열을 지닌 중실축과 중공축의 동적 응력확대계수를 균열의 길이와 축의 길이에 따른 영향을 자세히 조사하였다. 균열길이가 커지면 동적 응력확대계수가 커지고, 축의 길이가 길어지면 동적 응력확대계수 곡선의 폭도 함께 증가됨을 확인하였다. 그리고 균열의 위치가 안쪽에 포함될 경우보다는 바깥쪽에 포함될 때 더 큰 동적 응력확대계수가 발생됨을 밝힌다.
