Photovoltaic-thermal(PVT) collectors are a combination of photovoltaic modules with solar thermal collectors, forming one device that receives solar radiation and produces electricity and heat simultaneously. Of various PV modules, dye-sensitized solar cell(DSC) is a relatively new type of solar cell technology that can transmit light while they can generate electricity. With this aspect, DSC can be applied into solar thermal collectors. The object of this study is to evaluate the thermal performance of PVT collector with DSC. The thermal performance of the DSC PVT combind collector was measured in outdoor conditions with the solar radiation of over $700W/m^2$. In this study, the PVT collector with the 30% light transmittance of DSC achieved its thermal efficiency of about 36%.

In this study, the performance of solar assisted hybrid heat pump system with cloud cover were analyzed by using experimental method in spring season. It was consisted of concentric evacuated tube solar collector, heat medium tank, heat storage tank, heat pump, and so on. As a result, the solar radiation should be maintained over $4.1\;MJ/m^2$ in order to operate solar heating system for heating. Solar heat of collector wasn't affected by ambient temperature, but cloud cover has a big effect to collector efficiency. In addition, the collector efficiency is about 50-60%, and solar fraction is 40% for this system.
In this paper, the current status of manufacturing technologies for GaAs/Si solar cell were revived and provied new MOCVD. In the manufacturing process of GaAs/Si solar cells and an experiment to get the high efficiency GaAs solar cells, we must investigate the optimum growth conditions to get high quality GaAs films on Si substrates by MOCVD. The GaAs on Si substrates has been recognized as a lightweight alternative to pure substrate for space applicaton. Because its density is less the half of GaAs or Ge.So GaAs/Si has twofold weight advantage to GaAs monolithic cell. The theoretical conversion efficiecy limit of tandem GaAs/Si solar cell is 32% under AM 0 and $25^{\circ}C$ condition. It was concluded that the development of cost effective MOCVD technologies shoud be ahead GaAs solar cells for achived move high efficiency III-V solar cells involving tandem structure.

To replace the based on silicon solar cells, the third generation solar cells, Dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs), is low fabrication than silicon solar cells, environmentally friendly and can be applied to various field. For this reason, the DSSCs have been continuously researched. But DSSCs have one drawback that is the low power conversion efficiency (PCE) than silicon solar cells. To solve the problem, we used the backr-eflector the Al foil that can be easily obtained from the surrounding in order to improve the efficiency of the DSSCs. Easily detachable Al foil back-reflector increases the photocurrent by enhancing the harvesting light because the discarded light is reused. It also leads to enhance the power conversion efficiency (PCE). In addition, we compared with the efficiency of the DSSCs that is applied and does not be applied with back-reflector according to the thickness of the TiO2 photoelectrode. When the back-reflector is applied to DSSCs, the photocurrent is increased. It leads to affect the efficiency. We used to solar simulator and Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) to confirm the PCE and resistance. The DSSCs were also measured by External Quantum effect (EQE). At the same time, FE-SEM and XRD were used to confirm the thickness of layer and crystal structural of photoelectrode.
The flexible patterned cover film was made by a simple solution coating process using polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) solution with glass beads. The effect of patterned cover film on the efficiency of solar cell has been investigated. It was found that the relative solar cell efficiency increased up to 3.4% with the incident light angle between $0-90^{\circ}$ by the sphere shape of glass bead coated on the film surface. This was understood that the loss of transmittance and scattering due to the light directional dependency on solar cell were minimized because the light entered glass beads normal to its surface regardless of incident light angle. The maximum relative solar cell efficiency was achieved when glass bead shape on the film is hemisphere and the relative efficiency increased with increasing the amount of glass bead on the film surface. However, too much glass beads on the film surface resulted in the lower relative solar cell efficiency due to the lowering of transmittance as well as the occurring of light interference.

Organic-inorganic metal halide perovskite solar cells have received attention because it has a number of advantages with excellent light harvesting, high carrier mobility, and facile solution processability and also recorded recently power conversion efficiency (PCEs) of over 20%. The major issue on perovskite solar cells have been reached the limit of small area laboratory scale devices produced using fabrication techniques such as spin coating and physical vapor deposition which are incompatible with low-cost and large area fabrication of perovskite solar cells using printing and coating techniques. To solution these problems, we have investigated the feasibility of achieving fully printable perovskite solar cells by the blade-coating technique. The blade-coating fabrication has been widely used to fabricate organic solar cells (OSCs) and is proven to be a simple, environment-friendly, and low-cost method for the solution-processed photovoltaic. Moreover, the film morphology control in the blade-coating method is much easier than the spray coating and roll-to-roll printing; high-quality photoactive layers with controllable thickness can be performed by using a precisely polished blade with low surface roughness and coating gap control between blade and coating substrate[1]. In order to fabricate perovskite devices with good efficiency, one of the main factors in printed electronic processing is the fabrication of thin films with controlled morphology, high surface coverage and minimum pinholes for high performance, printed thin film perovskite solar cells. Charge dissociation efficiency, charge transport and diffusion length of charge species are dependent on the crystallinity of the film [2]. We fabricated the printed perovskite solar cells with large area and flexible by the bar-coating. The morphology of printed film could be closely related with the condition of the bar-coating technique such as coating speed, concentration and amount of solution, drying condition, and suitable film thickness was also studied by using the optical analysis with SEM. Electrical performance of printed devices is gives hysteresis and efficiency distribution.
In high-efficiency crystalline silicon solar cells, If high-efficiency solar cells are to be commercialized. It is need to develop superior contact formation method and material that can be inexpensive and simple without degradation of the solar cells ability. For reason of plated metallic contact is not only high metallic purity but also inexpensive manufacture. It is available to apply mass production. Especially, Nickel, Copper and Silver are applied widely in various electronic manufactures as easily formation is available by plating. The metallic contact system of silicon solar cell must have several properties, such as low contact resistance, easy application and good adhesion. Ni is shown to be a suitable barrier to Cu diffusion as well as desirable contact metal to silicon. Nickel monosilicide(NiSi) has been suggested as a suitable silicide due to its lower resistivity, lower sintering temperature and lower layer stress than $TiSi_2$. Copper and Silver can be plated by electro & light-induced plating method. Light-induced plating makes use the photovoltaic effect of solar cell to deposite the metal on the front contact. The cell is immersed into the electrolytic plating bath and irradiated at the front side by light source, which leads to a current density in the front side grid. Electroless plated Ni/ Electro&light-induced plated Cu/ Light-induced plated Ag contact solar cells result in an energy conversion efficiency of 14.68 % on $0.2{\sim}0.6{\Omega}{\cdot}cm,\;20{\times}20mm^2$, CZ(Czochralski) wafer.
The use of solar energy among renewable energy tends to increase because of infinity and cleanness of resources. Even though the consumption rate of solar energy in our country is still low, however, in recent years, the research for solar energy have been widely conducted due to policy support of government. This study was performed to make the system of performance test for solar collector and to investigate thermal efficiency for solar collector with thermosyphon tube-type. As a result, in case of indoors measurement using halogen lamp, thermal efficiency for solar collector with thermosyphon tube-type was increased about 15~22% after 120 minutes compared with that of solar collector with double evacuated tube-type. In addition, in case of outdoors measurement, thermal efficiency of thermosyphon tube-type was showed maximum about 46% higher than double evacuated tube-type.

Since PESC(passivated emitter solar cell) was developed in 1985, high efficiency silicon solar cell technology based on planar technology has been improved in the order of PERC, Point Contact Solar Cell, PERL. BCSC and DSBC, which do not require photolithography, are expected to replace commercial screen printed cells because of its potential for low cost and high efficiency. In this paper, history and characteristics of each type of cells are reviewed.
