$CuIn_{1-x}-GaxSe_2$ based materials with direct bandgap and high absorption coefficient are promising materials for high efficiency hetero-junction solar cells. CIGS champion cell efficiency(19.9%, AM1.5G) is very close to polycrystalline silicon(20.3%, AM1.5G). A reduction in the price of CIGS module is required for competing with well matured silicon technology. Price reduction can be achieved by decreasing the manufacturing cost and by increasing module efficiency. Manufacturing cost is mostly dominated by capital cost. Device properties of CIGS are strongly dependent on doping, defect chemistry and structure which in turn are dependent on growth conditions. The complex chemistry of CIGS is not fully understood to optimize and scale processes. Control of the absorber grain size, structural quality, texture, composition profile in the growth direction is important to achieving reliable device performance. In the present work, CIS nanoparticles were prepared by a simple wet chemical synthesis method and their structural and optical properties were investigated. XRD patterns of as-grown nanopowders indicate CIS(Cubic), $CuSe_2$(orthorhombic) and excess selenium. Further, as-grown and annealed nanopowders were characterized by HRTEM and ICP-OES. Grain growth of the nanopowders was followed as a function of temperature using HT-XRD with overpressure of selenium. It was found that significant grain growth occurred between $300-400^{\circ}C$ accompanied by formation of ${\beta}-Cu_{2-x}Se$ at high temperature($500^{\circ}C$) consistent with Cu-Se phase diagram. The result suggests that grain growth follows VLS mechanism which would be very useful for low temperature, high quality and economic processing of CIGS based solar cells.
In this study, realize voltage regulation $220Vac{\pm}10%$ or less, frequency fluctuation $60Hz{\pm}1%$ or less over the independent operation and grid-connected operation technologies for power stabilization relates to the ESS designed and manufactured in conjunction with solar installations and solar to compensate the output reduction due to the polarization of the solar module through the polarization prevention technology for preventing the optical module efficiency is lowered, in conjunction with the BMS inverter efficiency was more than 92%, more than 90% of the charging efficiency to the target. This study was designed in conjunction with the ESS solar power plants, grid-connected operation and independent operation, Peak-Cut, it can stabilize the grid via the Peak-Shifting operation
In this paper, I used microprocessor and sensor and designed to improve the efficiency of the photovoltaic system the photovoltaic position tracker device, and compared the normal photovoltaic system of fixed form with the photovoltaic system of solar position tracked form. Moreover, compared the catalogue of solar cell module and the simulation through a mathematics modelling with the solar cell's characteristic interpreting and, composed an power conversion system with boost converter and voltage source inverter. Used the constant voltage control method for maximum power point tracking in boost converter control and, used the SPWM(Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation) control method in inverter control.
This paper presents the isolation and performance evaluation of PV systems installed at Tibet area of China in order to identity the key factors that determines system operation at a severe climate conditions and promote the cooperation of PV technology between Korea and China. The installed systems consist of 100kW on-grid connected PV systems, BOS(balance of systems), data acquisition and transmission equipments. The Korea side supplied the solar cell, BOS like as inverter, control box and monitoring system. And the Chinese side assembled solar module by using Koreans solar cells, constructed site and built control house.
Currently the variety of governmental business support and research for supplying solar energy have been actively progressed. As of now, however, There are no practical testing infrastructures of grid-connected photovoltaic system which test performance of solar power facility in domestic. Therefore, in KEPRI, there is in progress construction of practical testing ground of 500 kW class grid-connected PV System for developing the evaluation of the performance technology including the Module, PCS, and etc, that is the important instrument of the PV System, in Gochang area. It analyzed the site creation work for constructing the practical testing ground and new construction of control room and the unit standards, specifications and capacity of required equipment. For the system detailed design, configuration, instrument-specific parameters established, power generation predictions of Array Type and the components of testing ground are needed to build.
This study aims to investigate a new structure for a concentrating photovoltaic (PV) module using a III-V compound semiconductor solar cellto solve the problems of existing concentrating PV modules and to explore a concentrating optical system with a flat structure, which shows remarkable advantages in terms of manufacturing cost, installation, and maintenance. This study should greatly contribute toward the development of concentrating PV modules. This study was performed to achieve an improvement in efficiency and economy and to implement an actual product. A new source of renewable energy is the only way in which countries that cannot produce oil can even emerge as an energy power. Therefore, this work can serve as a fundamental study that will help South Korea grow into a country that is a PV power generation force.
In this paper, I suggested the energy flexibility for photovoltaic energy. The cost for PV is surely high. But renewable energy is an one of the key solution for next energy resource. The latest technology needs more electricity. So many people are carrying more mobile charge in their batteries. Looking at the poor country people and nation, it is necessary to supply and share the advanced energy resources like photo voltaic. So in this open seminary I want to share the idea for this theme. The detail discussion will be shown in the following paper.
Crystalline silicon solar cell remains the major player in the photovoltaic marketplace with 80% of the market, despite the development of various thin film technologies. Silicon's excellent efficiency, stability, material abundance and low toxicity have helped to maintain its position of dominance. However, the cost of silicon materials remains a major barrier to reducing the cost of silicon photovoltaics. Using the crystalline silicon wafer with thinner thickness is the promising way for cost and material reduction in the solar cell production. However, the thinner the silicon wafer is, the worse bow phenomenon is induced. The bow phenomenon is observed when two or more layers of materials with different temperature expansion coefficiencies are in contact, in this case silicon and aluminum. In this paper, the solar cells were fabricated with different thicknesses of Al layer in order to reduce the bow phenomenon. With less amount of paste applications, we observed that the bow could be reduced by up to 40% of the largest value with 120 micron thickness of the wafer even though the conversion efficiency decrease by 0.5% occurred. Since the bowed wafers lead to unacceptable yield losses during the module construction, the reduction of bow is indispensable on thin crystalline silicon solar cell. In this work, we have studied on the counterbalance between the bow and conversion efficiency and also suggest the formation of enough back surface field (BSF) with thinner Al layer application.
There are two main types of concentrating optical systems in use today: refractive types that use Fresnel lenses, and reflective systems that use one or more mirrors. Regardless of the chosen optical system, the result is concentrated sunlight being aimed at the sensitive face of the cell, to produce more energy from less photovoltaic material. In this paper, for the achieve trackerless CPV system, CPV module included that the spherical lens with reflect mirror makes it possible to achieve high and stable power generation performance for the high concentration photovoltaic power generation system and cope with the needs for a variety of shapes and sizes in flexible manners and that the multiple cavity assemble method greatly reduces costs. Development of these high performance multi-junction CPV module promises to accelerate growth in photovoltaic power generation.
