폴리카보네이트 판 위에 (3-glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane과 Colloidal Silica의 졸-겔 반응을 이용한 하드 코팅 (Hard Coatings on Polycarbonate Plate by Sol-Gel Reactions of (3-glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane and Colloidal Silica)

  • 자동차의 유리를 폴리카보네이트로 대체하기 위하여 폴리카보네이트 판 위에 하드 코팅을 시도하였다. 본 연구에서는 (3-glycidoxypropyl)trimethoxysilane (GPTMS), colloidal silica (CS), (3-aminopropyl) triethoxysilane (APS)으로부터 졸-겔 과정을 이용하여 코팅을 형성하였는데, 이 때 가장 우수한 물성을 갖는 조건들을 찾아보았다. GPTMS와 CS를 에탄올 용매 안에서 가수분해 시킨 후에, APS를 첨가하여 코팅 액을 제조하고 이 코팅 액을 가지고 폴리카보네이트 판 위에 코팅을 실시하였다. 제조된 코팅 액으로부터 경도 2H의 투명하고 고른 면을 갖는 코팅 막을 형성할 수 있었으며, 형성된 코팅 막은 매우 우수한 내마모성과 접착력을 나타내었다.

이산화티탄 나노입자로부터 고굴절 하드코팅 도막의 제조 (Preparation of Hard Coating Films with High Refractive Index from Titania Nanoparticles)

  • 직경 2~3 nm 크기를 갖는 이산화티탄 나노입자가 산성 용액에서 titanium tetraisopropoxide(TTIP)의 가수분해 반응을 조절함에 의해 합성되었다. 생성된 이산화티탄 나노입자를 졸-겔법에 의해 3-glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane(GPTMS)과 반응시킴에 의해 유-무기 혼성 코팅 용액이 제조되었다. 그 후 코팅 용액을 기재인 polycarbonate(PC) 시트 위에 스핀 코팅시키고, $120^{\circ}C$에서 열경화 시켜 고굴절률 하드코팅 도막이 제조되었다. 코팅 도막은 가시광선 영역에서 90%의 높은 광학적 투과율을 보였으며 2H의 연필경도를 나타내었다. 또한 코팅 용액 내의 이산화티탄 나노입자의 함량이 4%에서 25%로 증가됨에 따라 코팅 필름의 굴절률은 633 nm 파장에서 1.502로부터 1.584로 향상되었다.

  • 출발물질인 TTIP로부터 이산화티탄 졸을 합성하여 무기물로 사용하고 유기물로서 실란커플링제인 methacryloxypropyl trimethoxysilane (MPTMS), aminopropyl triethoxysilane (APS), glycidoxypropyl trimethoxysilane (GPTMS), vinyltriethoxysilane (VTES)을 2종 혹은 3종씩 복합 사용하여 유-무기 하이브리드 코팅 용액을 제조하였다. 그 후 코팅 용액을 기재인 PC시트 위에 스핀 코팅시키고, 열경화 시켜 하드코팅 막을 제조하였다. 2종 실란커플링제를 혼합하여 제조된 코팅 막들은 기재와의 부착력과 연필경도가 우수하지 못했으나, 3종 실란커플링제를 혼합하여 제조한 코팅 막은 2H~4H의 향상된 연필경도와 5B의 우수한 부착력을 나타내었다. 이산화티탄 졸의 첨가량이 20 g인 코팅 막의 굴절률은 550 nm에서 1.56을 나타내었으나 이산화티탄 졸의 첨가량을 20 g에서 30 g으로 증가시킨 경우, 코팅 막의 굴절률이 1.63으로 향상되었다.

  • The optical memory devices of BST thin films to composite $(Ba_{0.7}\;Sr_{0.3})TiO_{3}$ using sol-gel method were fabricated by changing of the depositing layer number on $Pt/Ti/SiO_{2}/Si$ substrate. The structural properties of optical memory devices to be ferroelectric was investigated by fractal analysis and 3-dimension image processing. The thickness of BST thin films at each coating numbers 3, 4 and 5 times was $2500[\AA]$, $3500[\AA]$ and $3800[\AA]$. BST thin films exhibited the most pronounced grain growth. The surface morphology image was roughness with coating numbers. The thin films increasing with coating numbers shows a more textured and complex configuration.

  • A new pressurized sol-gel coating technique forming membrane layers inside pores of the porous support by the simple operation has been developed. Crack-free and reproducible nanoparticulate silica membranes supported on the porous $\alpha$-alumina tube are synthesized by pressurized coating at 600kPa for 2hr. The pore radius and N2 gas permiability at the room temperature of silica membrane layers are 8$\AA$ and 7.0$\times$10-7mol/$m^2$.s.Pa, respectively. The mechanism of N2 gas transfer through synthesized membrane layers is the perfect Knudeen flow, and the thermal stability of the silica composite membranes is excellent upto 40$0^{\circ}C$.

  • In order to improve the surface characteristics of polymethylmethacrylate(PMMA), oxide thin film coatings were applied using the sol-gel dip-coating technique. The $Si(OC_2H_5)_4$, tetra-ethyl-ortho-silicate(TEOS) was used as a starting material for $SiO_2$ coating. The hardness of the alkoxy-derived oxide-coated PMMA was increased from 190 MPa for non-coated PMMA with increasing film thickness. By optimizing the heating conditions and the hydrolysis conditions, a maximum apparent hardness obtained In the present study was achieved 310 MPa using the withdrawal velocity of 5cm/min and heat treatment at $90^{\circ}C$ for 5 hours, which is about 1.6 times larger than that of uncoated PMMA.

자외선 경화형 유/무기 코팅제의 복합 필름 특성 (The hybrid film characteristics of UV-curable organic-inorganic coating solutions)

  • UV-Curable hybrid coatings were synthesized to improve the surface properties of plastic film. Organic-inorganic coating solutions were prepared by the sol-gel method using urethane-acrylate oligomer, acrylate monomer, photo initiator and tetraethoxysilane (TEOS). Methacryloyloxypropyltrimethoxysilane(MPTMS) was used as a silane coupling agent to improve chemical interaction between inorganic phases and UV curable acrylate. In this study, the surface hardness and adhesive properties were improved with the use of inorganic component. The experimental results showed that UV-Curable hybrid films containing aliphatic urethane oligomer, hexanedioldiacrylate, trimethylolpropanetriacrylate, hydroxy dimethyl acetophenone exhibited good surface properties. Also, the optimum curing conditions were investigated.

  • Indium tin oxide (ITO) nanopowders were synthesized by coprecipitation and the sol-gel method to prepare a stable dispersion of ITO nano-colloid for antistatic coating of a display panel. The colloidal dispersions were prepared by attrition process with a vibratory milling apparatus using a suitable dispersant in organic solvent. The ITO coating solution was spin-coated on a glass panel followed by the deposition of partially hydrolyzed alkyl silicate as an over-coat layer. The double-layered coating films were characterized by measuring the sheet resistance and reflectance spectrum for antistatic and antireflective properties.

  • Crack-free hard coating siIica films were prepared by sol-gel processfrom twokinds of silicon alkoxide (tetra-ethoxysilane and methyltrimethoxysilane) and two kinds of alcohol (methanol and isopropyl alcohol) with an acid catalyst,acetic acid. A silicate framework of the precursor solution was investigated by infrared spectros-copy (IR) in the process of hydrolysis and condensation. Theextent of the condensation in the intermediates was elucidated by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) and 29Si-NMR spectroscopy. The hard coating films werecharacterized by IR,scanning electron microscope (SEM), thermo gravimetric analyzer (TGA) and dif-ferential scanning calroimeter (DSC). The synthetic condition for the crack-free and transparent silica film for-mation was optimized interms of starting materials for the precursor solution as well as preparation method of the silica film.

  • The oxygen barrier films were formed on poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) substrate by a sol-gel process using 3-aminoproprytrimethoxysilane (APTMOS). The effects of solvent type, coating times and incorporation of fumed silica on oxygen permeability coefficient were investigated. The APTMOS coating film prepared from methanol as a solvent exhibited higher oxygen barrier properties than that using THF. The oxygen permeability coefficient of coated film with APTMOS/methanol by coating 7 times was measured to be $2.28{\times}10^{-6}$, while that of PET film was $1.16{\times}10^{-4}$ GPU. The addition of fumed silica does not affect the oxygen barrier properties. It may be explained that silica particles disrupt chain packing, which leads to an increase in free volume for permeation.
