  • Sol-gel processing was used to prepare PZT fibers. Titanium isopropoxide Zirconium n-butoxide and lead acetate trihydrate were used as starting materials and TEA(triethanolamine) was added to form stabilized Pb-Ti-Zr complex alkoxide, Effects of catalysts and various solvents on the state of precursor sol gelation reaction fiber spinnability pyrolysis and crystallization were also investiated.

  • The traditional holiday, Sol which is based on a lunar calendar, falls in January orFebruary and makes it difficult to analyze time series data accurately. To analyze whetherSol raises consumer prices or not, RegARIMA models and paired t tests are used. It isfound that Sol raises consumer prices of food products significantly, but So1's effects onconsumer prices of all items are not significant.

  • The high rate of corrosion of magnesium alloys makes it limited for industrial applications. Therefore, surface treatment is required to enhance their corrosion resistance. In our study, a chemical conversion coating for protecting the corrosion of the magnesium alloy, AZ31B, was prepared by using a phosphate-permanganate solution. The chemical conversion coating had a limited protection ability due to defects arising from cracks and pores in the coating layer. The sol-gel coating was prepared by using trimethoxymethylsilane (MTMS) and 3-glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GPTMS) as precursors, and aluminum acetyl acetonate as a ring opening agent. The corrosion protection properties of sol-gel and conversion coatings in 0.35wt% NaCl solution were measured by the electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and potentiodynamic polarization test. The EIS results indicated that the resistance of the chemical conversion coating with the sol-gel coating was significantly improved through the sol-gel sealed phosphate-permanganate conversion coating. The results of the potentiodynamic polarization test revealed that the sol-gel coating decreased the corrosion current density ($I_{corr}$). The SEM image showed that the sol-gel coating sealed conversion coating and improved corrosion protection.

  • Colloidal Silica(CS)/methyltrimethoxy silane(MTMS) and CS/MTMS/epoxy silane(Es) sol solutions were prepared in variation with synthesizing parameters such as kinds of CS, kinds of silane and reaction time. In order to understand its physical and chemical properties, sol-gel coating films on glass were fabricated. In the case of CS/MTMS sol, the coating films had high contact angle and more enhanced flat surface than those in the case of CS/MTMS/ES sol. Also, the coating films obtained from single CS had a better flat surface than those obtained from mixed CS. In the case of thermal stability, thermal dissociation of CS/MTMS and CS/MTMS/ES sol-gel coating films did not occur up to $550^{\circ}C$ and $440^{\circ}C$ respectively. The thickness of coating films obtained from CS/MTMS sol increased than those of CS/MTMS/ES sol. In addition, the coating films obtained from single CS were more thicker than those obtained from mixed CS.

A Study on the Corrosion Behavior of Magnesium Alloy Sealed with Chemical Conversion Coating and Sol-gel Coating

  • Magnesium alloy is limited in the industrial field because its standard electrode potential is -2.363 V vs. NHE (Normal Hydrogen Electrode) at 25 ℃. This high electrochemical activity causes magnesium to quickly corrode with oxygen in air; chemical conversion coating prevents corrosion but causes surface defects like cracks and pores. We have examined the anti-corrosion effect of sol-gel coating sealed on the defected conversion coating layer. Sol-gel coatings produced higher voltage current and smaller pore than the chemical conversion coating layer. The conversion coating on magnesium alloy AZ31 was prepared using phosphate-permanganate solution. The sol-gel coating was designed using trimethoxymethylsilane (MTMS) and (3-Glycidyloxypropyl) trimethoxysilane (GPTMS) as precursors, and aluminum acetylacetonate as a ring-opening agent. The thermal shock resistance was tested by exposing specimens at 140 ℃ in a convection oven; the results showed changes in the magnesium alloy AZ31 surface, such as oxidization and cracking. Scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM) analysis confirmed a sealed sol-gel coating layer on magnesium alloy AZ31. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) measured the differences in corrosion protection properties by sol-gel and conversion coatings in 0.35 wt% NaCl solution, and the potentiodynamic polarization test and confirmed conversion coating with the sol-gel coating show significantly improved resistance by crack sealing.

초음파 처리된 sol로 제조된 PZT 박막의 미세구조 및 전기적 특성 (Microstructure and electrical properties of PZT thin films by sonicated sol in an ultrasonic bath)

  • Pb$(Zr_{0.5},Ti_{0.5})O_3$ 박막을 $Pt/Ti/SiO_2/Si$ 기판 위에 spin-coating법으로 제조하였다. 제조된 sol을 초음파 bath 내에서 초음파 처리하여 균일화를 촉진시킨 다음, 박막을 제조하여 초음파 처리되지 않은 sol로 제조된 박막과의 비교를 통해 초음파의 영향을 고찰하였다. 초음파 처리된 sol로 제조된 박막의 경우, $550^{\circ}C$에서 perovskite 단일상을 얻을 수 있었고, "rosette" 구조가 사라졌음을 관찰할 수 있엇따. 초음파 처리되지 않은 sol로 제조된 박막의 유전상수(10kHz), 잔류분극(Pr) 및 항전계(Ec) 값은 335, 12.3$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 168.4 kV/cm 였고, 초음파 처리된 sol로 제조된 박막은 각각 443, 172$\mu$C/$\textrm{cm}^2$, 153,5kVcm 로 전기적 특성이 개선되어 졌음을 알 수 있었다.

소디움실리케이트 수용액(水溶液)으로부터 솔-젤 반응(反應)에 의해 제조(製造)된 실리카 솔 입자특성(粒子特性) 고찰(考察) (Characterization of Silica Sol Particle Prepared by Sol-Gel Reaction from Sodium Silicate Solution)

  • 소디움실리케이트 수용액으로부터 나트륨이온이 제거된 핵생성 산화실리케이트 수용액과 실리케이트 수용액을 pH 10~11로 조절하여 혼합한 다음, $20{\sim}80^{\circ}C$에서 솔-젤 반응하여 실리카 솔 입자를 제조하였다. 이 때 yellow silicomolybdate method를 이용하여 소디움실리케이트와 나트륨이온이 제거된 실리케이트 수용액의 특성과 이들 출발용액으로부터 솔-젤 반응에 의해 제조된 실리카 솔의 입자특성에 대하여 고찰하였다. $SiO_2$를 2 wt% 함유한 소디움실리케이트 수용액은 약 95% 이상의 반응성 실리케이트를 함유하며, 솔-젤 반응에 참여하는 반응성 실리케이트는 전체 실리카 기준 약 50% 정도이다. 반응온도가 증가함에 따라 silanol(Si-OH) 결합구조의 흡수피크 세기는 감소하고, siloxane(Si-O-Si) 결합구조의 흡수피크 세기가 증가하였다. 반응조건별로 제조된 실리카 솔 수용액의 zeta potential은 -40~-60 mV 범위로 분산성이 좋은 상태를 유지하였다. 실리카 솔 입자크기는 5~10 nm로 반응온도 증가에 따라 크기가 약간 감소하였다. 실리카 솔 제조 후, 2차 입자 성장을 위하여 실리케이트 수용액을 재 첨가하였을 경우에 실리카 솔입자 크기가 약 20 nm로 증가하였다.

Adsorption of Colloidal Silica Particles on a Glass Substrate

  • Colloidal particles of silica (100 nm in size) were electrostatically dispersed and adsorbed on a glass substrate coated with silica sol or alumina sol. Stability of the suspensions and microstructure of the adsorbed particle layers were discussed in terms of total potential energies between the particles and the substrate. Well-dispersed suspension resulted in a layer with densely packed and regularly arranged particles, whereas less stable suspension resulted in a porous layer with loosely packed and irregularly arranged particles. Despite repulsive interactions between the particles and the substrate coated with silica sol, the observed adsorption can be attributed to chemical bonds formed at the interface between the particle and silica sol. In contrast, the adsorption of the particles on the substrate coated with alumina sol formed a layer with strongly adhered and densely packed particles, due to large attractive interactions between the particles and alumina sol.

솔젤법으로 제작한 $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ 세라믹스의 물성 (Properties of $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ Ceramics Prepared by Sol-Gel Method)

  • [ $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ ] sol was prepared using sol-gel method. Sol changed to gel with hydrolysis and polymerization. DTA properties of gel powder had endothermic reaction due to evaporation of propanol about $80^{\circ}C$, had exothermic reaction due to combustion of propanol about $230^{\circ}C$ and had exothermic reaction due to combustion of alkyl group about $350^{\circ}C$. Crystalline properties of gel powder retained amorphous phase at $50^{\circ}C$, retained anatase phase from $400^{\circ}C\;to\;600^{\circ}C$ and had all rutile phase over $700^{\circ}C$ at 0.01mole $V_2O_5$ additive. The capacitance of thin films increased with increasing heat treatment temperature and thin films had best properties at $700^{\circ}C$. The capacitance of thin films increased a lot with decreasing measurement frequency.

  • $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ sol was fabricated using sol-gel method and $TiO_2-V_2O_5$ thin films were fabricated using dip-coating method. $V_2O_5$ sol was added 0.01mo1e, 0.03mo1e, 0.05mo1e into $TiO_2$ sol. Viscosity of sol increased fast from about 1,000 minutes and sol began gelation from about 10,000 minutes. As a results of crystalline properties, $V_2O_5$ peaks were not found despite of $V_2O_5$ addition. Endothermic reaction occurred due to evaporation of solvent and dissociation of OH at $80^{\circ}C$. Exothermic reaction occurred due to combustion and oxidation of solvent at $230^{\circ}C$, occurred to combustion and oxidation of alkyl group at $350^{\circ}C$. Thickness of thin films increased $0.1{\sim}0.25{\mu}m$ every a dipping.
