국내 피트층 토양의 특성 분석 (Analysis of the soil characteristics in peat layer)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 피트층의 토양특성(입지환경)을 분석하여 충남 태안군의 신규 피트 분포지역을 예측하고 피트층의 특성을 비교하였다. 국내에서는 충남 태안, 경기 평택, 강원 강릉, 울산, 전북 익산 및 전남 장흥 등에서 피트층에 대한 연구가 진행되었으며, 이 연구 지역들의 피트층 토양에 대한 분포지형, 퇴적양식, 배수등급 및 토양아목의 특성을 통해 입지환경을 분석하고 피트 분포 예측기준을 선정하였다. 충남 태안군의 사례연구를 통해 피트층 분포 지역은 두 가지 형태로 확인되었다. 첫 번째로는 곡간지, 충적붕적층, 배수 약간불량 및 aqualfs 특성을 보이는 지역과, 두 번째로는 해성평탄지, 충적층, 배수 매우불량 및 aquepts 지역들이었다. 실제 피트층의 분포 확인을 위해 현장 탐침조사를 수행하였으며, 신규 피트층과 기존 연구 결과를 비교한 결과 국내의 피트 발견지역은 모두 해안선에서 10 km 이내에 위치하며, pH 5, 휴믹산 15% 이내의 성분으로 구성된 dark brown 계열 색상의 피트로 확인되었다. 또한 신규 피트층은 타지역에 비해 깊이는 깊고 두께는 두꺼우나 분해도는 상대적으로 낮은 것으로 나타났다.

  • The soil water characteristics curve (SWCC) represents the relation between soil water potential and soil water content. The shape and range of SWCC according to the relation could vary depending on soil characteristics. The objective of the study was to estimate SWCC depending on soil types and layers and to analyze the trend among them. To accomplish this goal, the unsaturated three soils were considered: silty clay loam, loam, and sandy loam soils. Weighable lysimeters were used for exactly measuring soil water content and soil water potential. Two fitting models, van Genuchten and Campbell, were applied. Two models entirely fitted well the measured SWCC, indicating low RMSE and high $R^2$ values. However, the large difference between the measured and the estimated was found at the 30 cm layer of the silty clay loam soil, and the gap was wider as soil water potential increased. In addition, the non-linear decrease of soil water content according to the increase of soil water potential tended to be more distinct in the sandy loam soil and at the 10 cm layer than in the silty clay loam soil and at the lower layers. These might be seen due to the various factors such as not only pore size distribution, but also cracks by high clay content and plow pan layers by compaction. This study clearly showed difficulty in the estimation of SWCC by such kind of factors.

한라산과 다랑쉬오름 등산로의 답압에 의한 토양 압밀현상 (Soil Compaction of Hiking Trails Induced by Human Trampling in Mt. Halla and Darangshiorum)

  • 답압으로 인하여 등산로에 발생하는 난투수층의 특성과 형성요인을 규명하기 위하여 한라산 석굴암코스와 다랑 쉬오름 등산로에서 토양의 압밀 상태와 물리특성을 조사하였다. 토양경도를 비롯하여 건조밀도와 고상 비율은 대체로 등산로 중앙에서 가장 높고, 가장자리로 가면서 점진적으로 감소하여 자연사면에서 최저치를 보인다. 즉 모든 등산로에서 토양의 압밀화가 진행됨으로써 등산로 중앙부에 난투수층이 출현하고 있다. 난 투수층의 형성에는 등산객의 답압뿐아니라 지형, 지질, 토양, 식생과 같은 환경요인이 관여하고 있다. 지형조건으로서 등산로의 배와 출현위치는 답압의 강도에 차이를 일으킬 뿐 아니라 우세작용에 의한 표토의 유실과 지표류에 의한 토사의 운반 퇴적을 통하여 난투수층의 형성에 관여한다. 또한 토성을 지배하는 지질 및 토양조건은 토양의 물리특성을 통하여 등산로의 압밀화에 영향을 미친다. 반면에 식생은 난투수층의 형성에 직접 관여하기보다는 등산로의 확대속도에 작용함으로써 난투수층의 규모에 차이를 가져온다.

유류오염토양 중 다환방향족탄화수소류(PAHs) 분석방법 연구 - US EPA 16종 PAHs를 중심으로 (Analytical Method of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs) in Petroleum Contaminated Soils - Focused on the 16 US EPA Priority PAHs)

  • In case of analyzing PAHs (EPA 16 compounds) in oil-contaminated soils, the lump of peaks may occur because of the aliphatic and polar compounds in oil. This phenomenon is due to the lower accuracy of the analysis. To solve this problem, evaluation of application of silicagel-alumina multi-layer fraction was performed using standard substances and oil-contaminated soils. As a result of application of silicagel-alumina multi-layer fraction cleanup method using standard substances, recovery rates of surrogate standards (5 compounds including Naphthalene-d8) were 83~100% and those of target standards were 75~129%. These were to meet the target values (60~130%) in this study. When used 4% water-silicagel column analyze PAHs in oil-contaminated soils, Some problems were generated for quantitative analysis of PAHs; concentration of PAHs was underestimated due to an upward baseline of internal standard (recovery rate: less than 60%) and overestimated by the lump of peaks which were not purified (the biggest recovery rate: more than 400%). On the other hand, in case of silicagel-alumina multi-layer fraction cleanup method, recovery rate of surrogate standards were 61~101.6%. Therefore this cleanup method was considered a valid method to improve accuracy of analysis of PAHs in oil-contaminated soils.

전북 부안 화강암지역 뢰스-고토양 연속층의 퇴적물 특성과 기원지 (Properties and Provenance of Loess-paleosol Sequence at the Daebo Granite Area of Buan, Jeonbuk Province, South Korea)

  • 전북 부안 화강암지역에서 기반암을 피복하고 있는 세립질 뢰스-고토양 연속층의 퇴적물 특성과 기원지를 검토하였다. 조사단면에서 퇴적층 두께는 약 280cm이며, 상부로부터 표층, Layer 1(고토양), Layer 2(뢰스), Layer 3(고토양), Layer 4(뢰스), Layer 5(고토양)로 이루어져 있다. 대자율값은 각 층준 사이에 뚜렷한 차이를 보이며 변동한다. pH, 산화환원전위(ORP), 수분함량, 토양경도와 달리, 유기물 함량은 대자율과 유사하게 토층의 특징을 잘 반영한다. 세 가지 조건하에서 측정된 토색 중 습윤 상태의 토색이 각 층준의 차이를 양호하게 반영하지만, 먼셀(Munsell) 색체계의 특성상 일부 지점에서는 변화 양상이 다소 불분명하다. 부안단면의 지형적 특성, 퇴적 구조 그리고 주원소 및 희토류 원소 조성이 주변 기반암 및 하천퇴적물과는 분명한 차이를 보이는 반면, 중국 황토고원의 시료와 매우 유사한 조성을 보이기 때문에, 연구 지역의 뢰스는 중국 황토고원 및 그 주변지역에서 기원한 물질에 의해 형성된 것으로 판단된다. 퇴적 이후에는 퇴적지의 환경, 즉 한국의 기후조건, 특히 많은 강수량에 의해 기원지와 다른 풍화특성을 보인다.

  • In this paper, the effect on the forced replacement depth of the revetment in soft soil with inter sand layer is analyzed by model test. In the result, the forced replacement occur in 60 second from filling the embankment material. The shape of the forced replacement depth is like to punching shape. Then, in case of thin inter sand layer and near the embankment, the forced replacement depth of inter sand layer case is more than only clayed soil case.

Application of waste rubber to reduce the settlement of road embankment

  • In this paper, a series of repeated load tests were carried out on a 150 mm diameter plate simulative of vehicle passes, to demonstrate the benefits of soil-rubber shred mixture in decreasing the soil surface settlement of road embankment. The results show that the efficiency of rubber reinforcement is significantly a function of the rubber content, thickness of rubber-soil mixture and soil cap thickness over the mixture. Minimum surface settlement is provided by 2.5% of rubber in rubber-soil mixture, the thickness of mixture layer and soil cap of 0.5 times the loading surface diameter, giving values of 0.32-0.68 times those obtained in the unreinforced system for low and high values of amplitude of repeated load. In this installation, in contrast with unreinforced bed that shows unstable response, the rate of enhancement in settlement decreases significantly as the number of loading cycles increase and system behaves resiliently without undergoing plastic deformation. The findings encourage the use of rubber shreds obtained from non-reusable tires as a viable material in road works.

남산과 광릉의 토양 미소절지동물에 관한 연구 (Soil Microarthropods Fauna at the Namsan and Kwangreung)

  • This research was carried out to investigate soil mictoarthropods fauna in Namsan and Kwangreung which were considered to receive different degreeds of environmental pressures. In basic environmental data, Namsan where under rather accelerated acidification by air contamination and acidic rain showed low pH, tardy decomposition and turnover rate. Population density of soil microarthropods was high in Kwangreung 17,169.8/\ulcorner\ulcorner(coniferous forests), 17,892.6/$\textrm{m}^2$(deciduous forests) than in Namsan, 12,143.8/$\textrm{m}^2$ (coniferous forests), 14,216$\textrm{m}^2$(deciduous forests). Biomass of soil microarthropods was 2,020.219mg/$\textrm{m}^2$ at coniferous forests and 4,270.172mg/$\textrm{m}^2$ at deciduous forests in Namsan, and 3,287.326mg/$\textrm{m}^2$ at coniferous forests and 4326.1mg/$\textrm{m}^2$ at deciduous forests in Kwangreung. Population density constantly showed high in spring, and seasonal fluctuations were correlated with seasonal precipitation. As far as vertical distribution is concerned, population density was concentrated in litter layer as 70% while 30% are in soil layer and also decreased with increasing depth.

유구 보존방법론 중 토층전사에 관한 고찰 (A Investigation on the Soil-Peel Methods in Conservation Method of Historical Site)

  • 발굴 작업이 종료된 후 중요한 의미를 지닌 유구는 여러 가지 방법으로 보존된다. 보존 유형에 따라 원형 보존과 이전 복원 방법으로 대별되며 이중에서 이전 복원 방법은 주거지, 야철지, 가마터, 고분 등의 유구 전체를 원 상태로 이전한 후, 복원하는 유구이전방법, 유구 전체를 이전하기 어려운 경우 유구의 형태만을 합성수지를 이용하여 전사하여 복원하는 유구전사 방법으로 대별되며, 고분의 단면, 건물지의 판축, 퇴적층, 패총 등의 토층 단면을 전사하여 보존하는 토층전사 방법이 있다. 토층 전사는 그 당시의 환경에 따른 변화 즉 홍수로 인한 범람 흔적, 화재로 인한 흔적, 조개를 먹고 버린 껍데기와 생활 쓰레기가 쌓여 당시의 생활상을 확인할 수 있는 패총 등으로, 중요한 역사적 자료가 된다. 특히 점토와 마사토 등의 성분이 다른 흙을 교대로 다져가며 판축을 한 토층의 경우, 그 시대의 판축 기술을 판단할 수 있는 중요한 자료가 된다. 이러한 역사적 자료를 토층전사 방법을 통해 보존함으로써 전문가뿐만 아니라 일반인도 공유할 수 있는 역사적 자료와 교육, 전시, 홍보용으로 활용하는데 중요한 자료 보존 방법이라 할 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 유구 보존 방법 중 현재 발굴 과정에서 노출되는 토양의 층위에 대한 해석으로 많이 이용되는 토층전사의 방법에 대한 정의 및 사용되는 재료의 물성적인 특징을 통해 토층 전사에 대한 정확한 지표를 제시하고자 한다.

남산공원 내 애기나리와 큰애기나리 군락의 동태 및 종간 경쟁의 추정 (On the Population Dynamics and Interspecific Competition of Disporum smilacinum and D. viridescens (Liliaceae) in Mt. Nam Park)

  • The clarify the ecological properties, and to predict change of understory vegetation of mt. Nam Park, population dynamics and interspecific competition of D. smilacinum and D. viridescens, which grow in understory of deciduous broad-leaved forest and pseudo-annuals, were studied from May 20 to May 30 1998. The depth of litter layer, soil moisture content, soil organic matter and soil texture were surveyed in 18 populations (15 D. smilacinum populations and 3 D. viridescens populations). Mean litter layer of d. smilacimum population was thinner than that of D. viridescens populations). Mean litter layer of D. smilacnum population was thinner than that of D. viridescens population. The contents of soil moisture and organic matter of D. smilacinum population were lower than that of D. viridescens population. The D. smilacinum growed in broad range of soil texture but D. viridescens in loamy soil. Because D. smilacinum could tolerate more broad range of soil moisture and soil texture than D. viridescens, the former covered the herb layer in earlier stage and the latter introduced in later stage when rhizome could grow easily. The numbers of individual in two marginal parts were smaller than that in center in same D. smilacinum patch. And the total numbers of individuals grown in (10 ${\times}$ 10)cm were from 0 to 12. The rhizome (subterranean runner) weight, rhizome length, root weight, shoot weight, lea weight and leaf number per subquadrat (cell) increased along the number of individual, that is, increased from marginal part to center. But rhizome weight and rhizome length per individual were vice versa. Therefore, the individuals in marginal part reproduced longer and stronger asexual propagules than that in center. The distribution pattern of D. smilacinum was contageous and that of D. viridescens was random or regular. Therefore, population growth of former was independent on density and that of latter was dependent on density. The distributions of size-class showed normal curves in two population, but the curves based on data of total dry weight showed positive skewness and those of leaf number showed negative skewness The correlation coefficient (CC) values between the properties of each organ were high in two population and significant at 0.1% level. The CC values of D. viridescens were higher of the two. Therefore, the former allocated the energy to each organ stable. The rhizome depth of d. viridescens was 2 times deeper than that of D. smilacinum. And rhizome length and weight of D. viridescens were longer (2 times) or heavier (4 times) than those of D. smilacinum. The patch size of D. viridescens increased 60 cm per year and that of D. smilacinum 30 cm. On this results, the intrinsic increase velocity of d. viridescens patch was 2 times faster than that of d. smilacinum, therefore, on the competition, the former had an advantage over D. smilacinum. The reason why d. viridescens defeated D. smilacinum resulted from that the leaf area of former was 4 times broader than that of latter. in Mt. Nam Park, it was thought that two disporum Population would change with the 3 thpes of environmental change as followings. First, no human impact and increase of soil moisture content resulted in increase of D. viridescens population. Second, mild human impact and similar condition of soil moisture content resulted in slow increase or no changes of D. smilacinum and d. viridescens population. Third, severe human impact and dry condition resulted in decrease or vanishment of two disporum populations.
