  • Component-based software development (CBD) is a methodology that has been embraced by the software industry to accelerate development, save costs and timelines, minimize testing requirements, and boost quality and output. Compared to the conventional software development approach, this led to the system's development being completed more quickly. By choosing components, identifying systems, and evaluating those systems, CBSE contributes significantly to the software development process. The objective of CBSE is to codify and standardize all disciplines that support CBD-related operations. Analysis of the comparison between component-based and scripting technologies reveals that, in terms of qualitative performance, component-based technologies scale more effectively. Further study and application of CBSE are directly related to the CBD approach's success. This paper explores the introductory concepts and comparative analysis related to component-based software engineering which have been around for a while, but proper adaption of CBSE are still lacking issues are also focused.

  • In mobile systems, energy efficiency is critical to extend battery life. Therefore, power consumption should be taken into account to develop software in addition to performance, Efficient software design in power and performance is possible if accurate power prediction is accomplished during the execution of software, In this paper, power estimation model is developed using statistical analysis, The proposed model analyzes processor behavior Quantitatively using the data of performance monitoring events and power consumption collected by executing various benchmark programs, And then representative hardware events on power consumption are selected using hierarchical clustering, The power prediction model is established by regression analysis in which the selected events are independent variables and power is a response variable, The proposed model is applied to a PXA320 mobile processor based on Intel XScale architecture and shows average estimation error within 4% of the actual measured power consumption of the processor.

  • Analysis technology is widely accepted and quite popular these days. Incorporation of the analysis result into design process is a key factor for the success of the analysis area. A few design software products have been commercialized. Generally, they are trying to make an interface between various design methods and analysis software. Optimization is a representative design method. The products are investigated and compared for the aspects of user convenience and algorithm performance. A few popular products are selected. Graphic user interface (GUI) is compared for the function and efficiency. The performances of the optimization algorithms are tested by mathematical and engineering examples. The results are discussed.

  • In this paper, structural behavior under fire conditions is comprehensively examined, and a novel software interface for testing interfaces efficiently is developed and validated. In order to accurately assess the response of structures to fire scenarios, advanced simulation techniques and modeling approaches are incorporated into the study. This interface enables accurate heat transfer analysis and thermo-mechanical simulations by integrating software tools such as CSI ETABS, CSI SAP2000, and OpenSees. Heat transfer models can be automatically generated, simulation outputs processed, and structural responses interpreted under a variety of fire scenarios using the proposed technique. As a result of rigorous testing and validation against established methods, including Cardington tests on scales and hybrid simulation approaches, the software interface has been proven to be effective and accurate. The analysis process is streamlined by this interface, providing engineers and researchers with a robust tool for assessing structural performance under fire conditions.

  • The heavy equipment such as tracter has been studied to improve rather the performance of engine than comfort. The mufflers of tracters have various specifications according to their uses. The exact analysis of various mufflers is needed to reduce the level of exhaust moise, a major noise source of engine, to improve the ride quality of tracter. In this study, a software based on Green's function is developed to predict the performance of sound transmission loss for a muffler according to the locations of inlet/outlet pipes. The locations of inlet and outlet pipes can be fixed at different position individually. The conventional muffler has the locations of inlet/outlet pipes on the direction of longitudinal axes. On other hand, the inlet and outlet pipes may be located at the circumferential surface of a test muffler such as one of tracter. The software is verified by analysis and experiment on current muffler of tracter and the improvement technique is proposed to reduce the level of exhaust noise.

  • In the next near future, the human would like to use the small unmanned ground vehicle(SUGV) on the diverse fields. Specially the world of today is tried to apply with operating the task on very difficult working environments such as some dangerous or unreachable area. To work this task, this vehicle should be guaranteed with the high level of reliability, safety, and performance. In this paper, we propose to focus on not only the functional requirements, but also the non-functional requirements based on software architecture at the design stage for developing the embedded system. Through focusing on the non-functional requirements on this software architecture, we can obtain the design goal of the target system and also show the enhancement of reliability, safety and performance with 'Vtune' performance analysis tool.

  • This paper introduces a MATLAB graphical user interface (GUI) based software for performance analysis of navigation message and wide area differential correction of regional navigation satellite system (RNSS). This software was developed to analyze satellite orbit/clock-related performance of navigation message and wide area differential correction simulating RNSS for regions near Korea based on different distributions of monitor and reference stations. As a result of software operation, navigation message and wide area differential correction are given as output in MATLAB file format. From the analysis of output, it was confirmed that valid navigation message and wide area differential correction could be generated from the results about statistical feature of orbit and clock prediction errors, cm-level fitting errors for navigation message parameters, and 81.9% enhancement in range error for wide area differential correction.

  • Durability performance evaluation technology using Virtual Testing Method is a new concept of a vehicle design, which can reduce the automotive components design period and cost. In this paper, the fatigue life of an aluminum knuckle of a passenger car is evaluated using virtual testing method. The flexible multibody dynamic model of a front half car module is generated and solved with service loads which are measured from Belgian roads. Using a multibody dynamic analysis software, the flexible multibody dynamic simulation of a half car model is carried out and the dynamic stress profile of an aluminum knuckle is acquired. The stress profile is exported to a fatigue analysis software and durability performance of an aluminum knuckle is evaluated.
