Development of Small Package Drop-Off System (PC 기반의 무인 소화물 접수장치 설계에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we proposed the automatic postal drop-off system based on the microprocessor board or PC. The weight of the small postal package is transmitted from the electronic scale and user-entered addresses and delivery rate are processed by the controller to calculate the fee. For 24 hour out-door operation and maintenance, non-cash payment methods such as credit card payment is used. The post stamp and receipt are printed by the thermal printer. For the electronic processing of the parcel, serial code is also printed on the stamp and receipts in bar code format. The parcel information obtained by the automatic postal drop-off system is transferred to remote central system by dial-up modem shared by the on site office. The proposed system and its control software are built for prototype model operation and the result met the design requirements. For real time processing, data reception through three serial ports is handled by interrupt routine. The proposed system is expected to be applied for commercial logistics system and pc automation system.

  • In modem industry, the accuracy and the surface-finish requirements for machined parts have been becoming ever more stringent. Optical method in measurements is playing an important role in vibration measurement, crack and defect detection and surface topography with the advent of opto-mechatronics. In this study, the principle of the general confocal microscope is introduced for surface measurement, and the advanced confocal microscope that has better measuring speed than the traditional confocal microscope is developed. A study on improving the resolution of the advanced confocal microscope is followed. Finally, Software for data acquisition and analysis of various parameters in surface geometrical features has been developed.

  • Pronunciation teaching is once again coming into the foreground of ELT. Japan is, however, lagging far behind many countries in the development of pronunciation curricula and in the actual speech performance of the Japanese learners of English. The reasons for this can be found in the prevalence of communicative methodologies unfavorable for pronunciation teaching, in the lack of trained professionals, and in the large numbers of students in Japanese foreign language classes. This paper offers a way to promote foreign language pronunciation teaching in Japan and other countries by means of employing computer and internet facilities. The paper outlines the major directions of using modem speech technologies in pronunciation classes, like EVF (electronic visual feedback) training at segmental and prosodic levels; automated error detection, testing, grading and fluency assessment. The author discusses the applicability of some specific software packages (CSLU, SUGIspeech, Multispeech, Wavesurfer, etc.) for the needs of pronunciation teaching. Finally, the author talks about the globalization of pronunciation education via internet resources, such as computer corpora and speech and pronunciation training related web pages.

  • In order to manage the wet end chemistry on paper machines, our goal is to control sub-processes through which we can influence the entire wet end operations with maximum effect. The most important sub-processes are: consistency, ash, and chemistry. The management of these three main groups is based on on-line maesurements and automatic control. This paper presents a new wet end management platform, a new analyzer. This new analyzer utilizes a modular structure and modem software. It is part of a new paper machine concept. The controls of this concept are feedback and feedforward solutions that control retention, consistencies, ash, and charge, resulting in a more stable wet end (30...80%), more uniform paper, and better rnnability.

  • Recently, new appliances have become built-in ethernet Port but most of the old devices have serial port. So, it complicates and needs long time to maintain at a long distance. It can only controllable and fixable using modem. In this paper, we developed an embedded STEP converter within Linux operating system and other application software so that serial devices(PBX) can control in the ethernet network After completion of development processes, test was conducted. In the remote places, it was connected the STEP converter and controled the serial PBX. Finally, we confirmed that it can apply to other equipments.

  • This paper presents implementation of Air protocol analyzer and physical layer design algorithm. The analyzer is a measurement system providing real-time analysis of wireless signals between User Equipment (UE) and Node-B. The implemented system proposed in this paper consists of Digital Signal Processors (DSPs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). The waveform of Wideband Code Division Multiple Access (WCDMA) has been selected for verification of the proposed system. We designed the analyzer using equalizer algorithm and rake-receiver algorithm. Among various algorithms of designing the equalizer, we have chosen Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) equalizer that uses the inverse of channel matrix. Since the LMMSE equalizer uses the inverse channel matrix, it suffers from a large amount of computational load, while it outperforms most conventional equalizers. In this paper, we introduce an efficient procedure of reducing the computational load required by LMMSE equalizer-based receiver.

  • 다양한 이동통신기기들을 한 시스템에 수렴시킬 수 있는 기술로서 SDR 기술이 각광받고 있다. 본 논문은 W-CDMA 물리계층 업링크의 트래픽 채널을 DSP로 구현하여 베이스밴드 프로세싱 하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이러한 소프트웨어 모뎀은 초기화, 소스 데이터 발생, 스프레딩, 스크램블링, 출력단 등으로 이루어진다. 기존의 FPGA, ASIC 등으로 구현된 하드웨어 모뎀을 소프트웨어적인 DSP로 구현할 때 생기는 주요 문제들을 고찰하였다. 로드 밸런싱, 동시성과 실시간성, 버퍼 스킴, 멀티 태스킹, 인터럽트 관리, OVSF 및 스크램블링 코드의 복소수 연산 등이다. 전통적인 구조는 FPGA와 DSP 혼합체인데 각각 칩레벨 프로세싱, 심볼 프로세싱을 담당한다. FPGA와 DSP 혼합체 구조를 넘어서 멀티 DSP를 이용한 병렬처리기법, 또는 reconfiguable 칩을 개발해서 칩레벨 및 심볼 프로세싱을 한 번에 할 수 있는 개발제품도 출시되었다.

  • Recently, there a lot of activities on the researches that implement many kinds of control system using power lines. To implement that, it is desirable to use hybrid PSK model because it takes advantage of PSK and DPSK which has a low-bit-error rate. In this parer, we implement the transmitter of this model. Because the power line is not designed for the data communication, we separated the signal generator circuit and the signal loading circuit so that minimized noises from outside. Also, to make it easy on the experiments, most of process are performed by software. As a result, transmitting a high frequency signal on the power line made no effects on the electrical devices.

  • The SSPA makes the power level of EIRP up to 16W, and compensates for temperature to the SSPA´s maximum stability. The up and the down converters are dually conversed like as individual synthesizers for selecting of independent transmit-receive transponder. The function of the up-converter is to convert the 70MHz IF signal modulated in the indoor unit modem into a 14.0 ∼ 14.5 GHz Ku-band up-link signal to be sent to the antenna. The down-converter converts the 12.25 ∼ 12.75 GHz Ku-band down-link signal or a trouble malfunction of SSPA may be a fatal factor to operation of the whole satellite communication network. Development of a Low-Cost Thermal Image Hidden Fire Detector Using Open Source Hardware (오픈소스 하드웨어를 사용한 저비용 열화상 잔불탐지 장치 개발)

  • Hidden flame detection after allegedly extinguishing a fire cannot be emphasized enough. There are a few commercial hidden fire detection equipments which are imported, but the cost is relatively high. In this contribution, we propose a development of a low-cost, high-performance hidden flame detector using open-source hardware/software. We use Raspberry-pi based hardware board equipped with a TFT touch-screen LCD, a 3G modem, and an attachable battery device altogether integrated in a plastic case fabricated with a 3D printer. The proposed hidden flame detector shows the same performance of a commercial product FLIR E5 while consuming less than a half of the cost.
