A Hybrid Digital Watermarking Technique for Copyright Protection and Tamper Detection on Still images (정지영상에서 저작권 보호 및 위변조 검출을 위한 하이브리드 디지털 워터마킹 기법)

  • Digital image manipulation software is now readily available on personal computers. It is therefore very simple to tamper with any image and make it available to others. Therefore. copyright protection of digital contents and insurance of digital image integrity become major issues. In this paper, we propose a hybrid watermarking method to identify locations of tampered region as well as copyright. Our proposed algorithms embed the PN-sequence into low frequency sub-band of the wavelet transform domain and it doesn't need the original image in extraction procedure. The experimental results show good robustness against any signal processing with tamper detection on still image.

  • The Korea Copyright Commission has pursued copyright technology R&D projects to prevent illegal copying of comics and Webtoons. We developed a feature-based scanned comic filtering technology in order to apply technical measures to specific types of online service providers. We also developed technologies in order to monitor and identify illegally distributed comics on webhard sites and to monitor and identify illegally distributed webtoons. Even though all comic books posted on webhard sites are illegal, it is no trouble to download and access popular comics by accessing websites in foreign countries. Even under these circumstances, the comic and webtoon copyright protection technologies developed over the past six years have been used at all. In this paper, we examine what the problems are and find solutions to propose a copyright protection method for webtoons.

  • This paper relates to a software patent of a computer related invention, explains a describing method of software patent claim which can be registered software patent of computer related invention instead of computer program copyright which is the Intellectual Property about software since 1998 in the Korea Intellectual Patent Office(KIPO) by developing an information communication infrastructure technology and WWW technology. Also, it introduces an international and domestic trends of the software patent for computer related invention and related database for the software patent of the world and mentions advantage and disadvantage of software patent regime of each nation and the facing software patent problems as the Intellectual Property.

Website and Digital Content between Material Property and Intellectual Ownership Rights within the Legal Regulation of Internet

  • When the owners of the intellectual property rights of digital content have lost control over it in the digital environment, there emerged fears that the intellectual property laws, especially copyright law, would not be effective as in the material (Offline ) world. The reason is that the digital environment helps to reproduce copies in high quality and at almost no cost, while copyright law protection has been limited to programs embedded in CDs. According to copyright laws, the owner of the program did not have the right to prevent buyers of the initial physical copy of the program from copying and reselling it to more than one individual without the permission of the original owner. As a result, business owners have invented the idea of licensing digital content and programs instead of selling them. They set out terms that serve their commercial interests regardless of their abuse to intellectual property laws or even the rules of the traditional contract to sell a material property. The abuse has resulted from the way those terms are concluded and the heavy rules that are unfair to consumer rights. Therefore, business owners insisted on dealing with the website and its programs and digital content as material property. Here raises the question of whether the website and its digital content are subject to the protection of copyright law or the rules of the traditional contract or licensing contracts. As the answer to this question affects the protection of consumer rights, is it possible to find a balance between it and the protection of the owners of digital programs' rights.That is what we will discuss in this paper.

  • On increasing illegal software copyright, the need for similarity analysis is now rising. The reliability of object material are becoming important when it's moving from developer to evaluation experts. Object material as a comparison data, is the important data to the evaluation expert which is delivered from agencies such as courts and police stations. The object material is submitted at first to the Copyright Commission and then delivered to the evaluation expert with safe. However, if the similarity result is not satisfied to the both side, they will claim to the reliability of the object material such as source code modification or revision etc. Software objects is produced in a file format and are recognized as being able to be modified. Therefore, the reliability to the object material is studied in various ways, and a forensic is proposed as one method. This study showed the suggestion to keep reliability of the object material through the actual evaluation cases.

  • 블록체인 기반 온라인 거래 플랫폼은 중개자에 의존적인 기존의 거래 방식을 탈피하여 비용 및 시간의 낭비를 줄이고 참여자들 간의 신뢰성 있는 직접적인 거래를 실현시켰다. 하지만 비허가형 블록체인은 참여자들의 프라이버시를 제공하지 못하는 문제가 있다. 본 논문에서는 허가형 블록체인인 하이퍼레저 패브릭을 사용하여 프라이버시를 강화한 디지털 콘텐츠 저작권 보호 및 거래를 위한 블록 체인 플랫폼을 제안한다.

  • Recently, the number of subscribers of the webtoons published by some major internet portal companies and others is increasing and their revenues are continually rising. Accordingly, a number of studies are being conducted for this phenomenon. For the uploaders off webtoons, their works are graded and added up for the promotion review but the criteria of such a promotion system usually fall short of readers' expectations. Although most of the subscribes of webtoons are drawn into subscription mainly by the recommendation of people around them, the responses from the new subscribers were often quite different from what the portal companies have anticipated, affecting the rank of the webtoon. Thus, a promotion management system which provides a reliable and clear method of assessment is proposed in this study including the revenue and copyright management scheme for the cartoonists.

  • After entering the 4th Industrial Revolution, the digital content market, which was only dependent on existing contents supply enterprises, is providing various digital content through the participation of users like YouTube. Accordingly, it activated the digital content market, but it causes a negative influence on the digital content market due to the copyright of the creator and the indiscriminate illegal use and usage of the content. This study researched digital content management technology based on blockchain technology to protect digital content and the copyright of the creator. The suggested technology protects the digital content and the copyright holder and discerns the users and prevents the indiscriminate approach and illegal use of digital content. For the safe management of digital content, hash function applied as the certification technology of blockchain is used to certify the users and manage the digital content and provide integrity and authentication service.

  • In copyright dispute on software, appraisal procedure is needed, which is regarded as an implementation of the right to fast trial. Considering that, in practice, there has been a long discussion of attempting to operate the software appraisal as a summary procedure. This was done usually by reducing the resources devoted to the summary procedure, however, this way inevitably makes difference in a result obtained through the procedure. Therefore, this research reviewed the previous operation of summary procedure in software appraisal, focusing on intrinsic nature of the summary procedure and role of software appraisal in the trial process.
