  • Magnetically soft nanomaterials obtained by controlled crystallisation of metallic glasses are the newest group of materials for inductive components. In particular, research is carried out in the field of alloys for high temperature applications. This kind of materials must meet two basic requirements: good magnetic properties and stability of properties and structure. In the present work the magnetic properties and structure of Fe-Co-Hf-Zr-Cu-B (HIDTPERM-type) alloys were investigated, as well as their stability. Differential thermal analysis, (DTA), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), magnetometry (VSM) and quasistatic hysteresis loop recording were used to characterise structure and properties of the alloys investigated. Optimisation against properties and their stability was performed, resulting in formulation of chemical composition of the optimum alloy, as well as its heat treatment.

  • The extremely soft magnetic behaviors in the nanocrystalline $Fe_81B_11Nb_7Cu_1$ alloy annealed at 450 $\circ C$ and 550 $\circ C$ for 1 hour in a vacuum were investigated by means of the magnetoimpedance (MI) effect and the incremental permeability. Because the MI effect can be obtained only in ultra-soft magnetic materials, the improvement of magnetic softness by proper thermal treatment was carefully monitored by the MI effect for all annealed samples. The changes of the incremental permeability as a function of an external field were also measured to verify the magnetic softness along with the MI measurement.

  • Bilayers of soft NiFe (150 nm-420 nm) on hard Ni (150 nm) were prepared by electrodeposition. The process of magnetization reversal in the NiFe/Ni bilayers was then investigated. The hysteresis loop generated by a magnetization reversal of soft NiFe under a positive saturation state of a hard Ni layer shows a shift along the negative field axis, which is clear evidence for the exchange spring effect in the NiFe/Ni bilayers. The dependence of the coercive field $H_c$ and exchange bias field Hex on the thickness of the NiFe layer was also investigated. As the NiFe thickness increases from 150 nm to 420 nm, both $H_c$ and $H_{ex}$ decrease rapidly from $H_c$= 51.7 Oe and $H_{ex}$ = 12.2 Oe, and saturate to $H_c$ = 5.8 Oe and $H_{ex}$ = 3.5 Oe.

  • The permalloy soft magnet was produced by powder injection molding process. Rheological characteristics of mixtures, debinding conditions and the magnetic properties of permalloy after sintering ware investigated. The permalloy soft magnet with a permeability of 14200 could be obtained by preparing a mixture with a powder loading of 65.4 vol.% and PP/PEG binder system, solvent extraction, thermal debinding and subsequent sintering at 1350 $^{\circ}C$ in hydrogen. The permalloy soft magnet sintered in hydrogen showed a 95 % of theoretical density and a magnetic induction of 13.2 kG at the applied magnetic field of 50 Oe

  • We have investigated the magnetic properties of FeBN and FeSiN films deposited by RF magnetron reactive sputtering system. It was investigated that the compositions of B, Si and N were the main factors influencing the soft magnetic properties and film resistivity. The addition of small amount of N significantly improve the soft magnetic properties and electrical resistivity. The FeBN and FeSiN films were showed good soft magnetic properties which were Hc<1 Oe, Bs:19~19 kG and $\mu$'>1000 values. The composition of films were $Fe_{75}(BN)_{25},\;Fe_{78}(SiN)_{22}$ and resistivity was 100~120 $\mu$$\Omega$-cm. but, futher increase in B, Si and N concentration degraded the soft magnetic properties due to formation of nitride such as $Fe_4N$ compound.

  • The spreading tube of X-ray cathode tube displayed with an electromagnetic finite element method was designed. To analyze a feature design and the concrete coordinate performance of soft X-ray tube modeling, the orbit of electron beam was simulated by OPERA-3D SW program. The fixed conditions were the applied voltage, the temperature, the work function of thermal electron between cathode and anode of tungsten. Through the analysis of distribution of electron beam and the variation of dividing region, the design of soft X-ray spreading tube equipped with two cross filaments was optimized.

  • The amorphous Co-based alloy Co66Fe4Ni1B15Si14 (Metglas 2714A) is a suitable magnetic core material for high frequency operation. Appreciable reduction of the coercive force can be achieved by proper heat treatment. In this study, samples annealed at wide temperature range were analyzed using differential scanning calorimetry, high frequency B-H loop tester, X-ray diffractometer and resistivity meter. The results show that coercive force at 10 kHz decreases with in-creasing annealing temperature up to 773 K, but dramatically increases above this temperature. The squareness shows that the magnetic anisotropy on longitudinal direction of the as-cast state remains up to 773 K. Above this temperature, it decreases down to 0.5 that represents random distribution of magnetic domains. The crystallization abruptly occurs between 781 K and 783 K.
