Based on the results of this study, the following recommendations were made. In order to improve the level of resident's participation in rural village development programs and projects, it is necessary to evaluate their successes, failure, barriers and the positive correlation between their success more delicately. In addition to this, it must be suggested the better model for participatory rural village development programs for the further enhancement and improvement of rural village development projects.

  • Sports participation can contribute to organization members' work-life balance and work motivation in order to increase performance. Based on the achievement motivation theory, this study tested the effect of sports participation on leaders' effectiveness and employees' performance. Data was collected from 213 leaders and subordinates in the South Korean army. Results indicated that leader effectiveness mediated the positive relationship between sports participation of leaders and subordinates' outcomes, such as task performance and OCB. We also found that sports participation of subordinates moderated the positive relationship between leader effectiveness and subordinates outcomes (i.e., task performance and OCB). These findings further suggest that sports participation plays an important role for leaders and subordinates to increase leader effectiveness and in/extra-role behaviors.

  • Consumer expectations for ethical businesses have become increasingly high in recent years; the fashion industry is working to implement greater corporate social responsibility (CSR). This study establishes the effects of the evaluation for participation in fashion brand CSR on perceived purchase values. In particular, the process for the evaluation for participation that affect the perceived purchase value through consumer-brand identifications (personal/social) was verified and how the consumer regulatory focuses would influence this process was identified. For this study, an on-line survey was conducted that included a series of filtering questions that measured the level of social concern of respondents. Valid data from 505 female consumers were analyzed for the structure equation modeling. The empirical results suggested that the evaluation for participation in fashion brand CSR positively affected the two dimensions of consumer-brand identification; personal identification and social identification. In addition, consumer-brand identification played a role as a mediating variable in the path to influence the perceived purchase values of CSR brands. Lastly, there were differences in reactions to CSR activities by consumer groups with different regulatory focuses. The effect of the evaluation for participation in fashion brand CSR was shown to be higher for consumers with promotion focuses than on consumers with prevention focuses. The results of this study will help fashion companies understand the importance of the consumer participation in CSR by having consumers participate in ethical consumption.

The study subjects were 100 patients with a stroke for more than six months. Korean Craig Handicap Assessment and Reporting Technique (K-CHART) was conducted to determine the level of participation of subjects, and Korean-Modified Barthel Index (K-MBI) was conducted to examine the factors influencing the community participation of the subjects to determine the level of independence of activities of daily living. As a result, the relevant factors of community participation in stroke patients were as follows. Physical independence, cognitive independence, mobility, work, and social integration of stroke patients showed higher explanatory power than engagement in activities of daily living, age, and employment. Also, physical independence, cognitive independence, mobility, work, and social integration were factors that affected participation. All items were statistically significant (p <.01).
