The blasting method creates large benefit in regard to the economic aspect and shortening construction period. This method, however, has problems to be solved in respect to the blasting vibration and noise. Blasting vibration and noise have been studied by many workers, regarding to the impact on the structure and human body. This investigation is concerned on the affect of blasting vibration and noise on the animals which is relatively new. The information age with its empasis on the recoding and transfer of information along with the technology of telectommuting has increased potential for and attention to home-based work. Home-based work seems to have several advantages particulary for women who carry the double burden of household work and paid work. The reduction in traffic congestion and demand of fossil fuels that accompanies the elimination of commuting has also been seen as a important social benifit. • Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a serious condition associated with social and familial burden, as well as significant neurologic deficit. Despite the many advances in the treatment of spinal cord injury, a fundamental treatment for neurologic functional recovery has not yet been developed. In this article, we review two directions of development for spinal cord injury treatment: neuroprotective pharmacological agents and axon-regenerating cell therapy. We expect developments in these two to lead to improve functional recovery in patients with spinal cord injuries and to reduce burdens on society, as well as the patients' families.

  • When you act for a good or just when you make a choice, you should ask yourself if the result of your action coincides with the principle that has generated it. Health and respect for our own individuality are two essential goods for the human being and also values that medicine itself should guard carefully remembering that its goal is to take care for a person and not only to cure a sick body. The means to achieve all this can only be a person-centered medicine which has the honor and the burden of considering the person (in the Kantian sense) and his health as an end, not a means. The current mainstream concept of health defined in 1948 by the World Health Organization as a state of complete mental, physical and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity remind us that medical reasoning, based on the pathogenesis operator, is no longer sufficient in dealing with requests from the citizens: is now the right time to shift the focus from sickness to health giving emphasis to the salutogenic medicine approach.
