  • BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Sustainable practices in foodservice organizations including commercial and noncommercial ones are critical to ensure the protection of the environment for the future. With the rapid growth of the foodservice industry, wiser usage of input sources such as food, utilities, and single use packaging should be reconsidered for future generations. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the customer's perceptions on sustainable practices and to identify the relationship among sustainable practices, social contribution and purchase intention. SUBJECTS/METHODS: The study was conducted using content analyses by reviewing articles on sustainable food service practices published domestically and abroad. Thereafter, data were collected with a face-to-face survey using a questionnaire and analyzed with factor analyses and multiple regressions. RESULTS: Sustainable practices classified with factor analysis consisted of 6 dimensions of green food material procurement, sustainable food preparation, green packaging, preservation of energy, waste management, and public relations on green activity, with a total of 25 green activities in foodservice operations. Consumers were not very familiar with the green activities implemented in the foodservice unit, with the lowest awareness of "green food material procurement (2.46 out of 5 points)", and the highest awareness of "green packaging (3.74)" and "waste management (3.28). The factors influencing the perception of social contribution by foodservice organizations among 6 sustainable practice dimensions were found to be public relations on green activity (${\beta}=0.154$), waste management (${\beta}=0.204$) and sustainable food preparation (${\beta}=0.183$). Green packaging (${\beta}=0.107$) and the social contribution of the foodservice organization (${\beta}=0.761$) had strong relationships with the image of the organization. The purchase intentions of customers was affected only by the foodservice image (${\beta}=0.775$). CONCLUSIONS: The results of this study suggest that sustainable practices by foodservice organization present a good image to customers and increase the awareness of valuable contributions that benefit the customer as well as the community.

  • This study aims to investigate the effect of psychosocial aging on age integration and the moderating effect of Familism and Family solidarity. In particular, this study has significance for establishing a basis of practical and political intervention in family level for improving age integration. We employed data from the 'Ageing Society Awareness Investigation' funded by Korean National Research Foundation in 2014. Our analysis sample consisted of 702 adults who were from 40 to 90 years old. Also, this study conducted descriptive statistics and multiple regression analysis by using STATA13. First of all, the lower psychosocial aging awareness is the higher age integration awareness. Familism and family solidarity were not a significant predictor for age integration. However, the interaction effects between familism as well as family solidarity and psychosocial aging ware statistically associated with age integration. That is to say that as psychosocial aging is negative, when decrease age integration, the net moderating effects of familism and family solidarity were found between age integration and psychosocial aging. Based on the results, this study provides implications that reinforcing family value and promoting interaction and solidarity with family members are positively contributed to age integration awareness at this point of negative psychosocial aging.

  • The purpose of this study was to identify the emotional and stress factors of the stroke victims living in the community and to investigate the effect of these factors on the level of social participation. Data collection collected data on the level of emotional awareness, stress, and social participation in welfare centers, public health centers, and stroke disabled people using community services. The level of social participation according to general characteristics was analyzed by descriptive statistics and one-way ANOVA. Emotional factors, stress factors, and social participation levels were analyzed by pearson correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. As a result, there were no statistically significant factors in the sub-domains of emotional factors that affect social participation performance and satisfaction. In the sub-areas of stress factors, personal internal stress and interpersonal stress were statistically significant variables. The explanatory power showed social participation accomplishment was 34% and satisfaction was 33%. Therefore, various approaches should be made considering stressful factors to achieve rehabilitation into the local community, and additional research is needed to identify psychosocial variables that affect social participation.

As the subjects enter the chat-room, he chats with 3 researchers who were waiting before he gets in. The social presence was operated with 3 phases by the contents of the chat (①control group; nothing, ②experimental group 1; reaction about other people ③experimental group 2; reaction about other people + self-exposure by an exchange information of their home region). The studies show that, subjects of the control group behaved more aggressively than other subjects of the experimental groups(both flaming and direct aggression use of character). Meantime, I compared experimental group 1 with experimental group 2 to investigate difference between the type of social presence. As the result, subjects of the experimental group 1 behaved more aggressively than experimental group 2 (only flaming, there's no difference in direct aggression use of character).

While female students (51.2%) were the majority in the health sciences campus (74.8%), male students (48.8%) were the majority in the social sciences campus (76.5%). Some 9.6% of the students from the health sciences campus and 12.4% of the students from the social sciences campus thought that cancer was communicable, while most of the students from both campuses knew that smoking caused cancer. • This study is the analysis of actual proof about how the CEO's values system affects the organizational performance. To this end, we analyzed the content of forty different actual CEOs' values system through in-depth interviews. In addition, we verify the impact of the CEO's values system on organizational performances depending on the employee's awareness and sympathy. The organizational performance is analyzed in two different areas, social and financial performance, and significant results are obtained in both areas. In particular, we interview the CEOs directly, which is usually difficult to access, to analyze the values system and study the employee's awareness and sympathy for the values system. The Study puts emphasis on the importance of the process of achieving the employee's awareness and sympathy, rather than the values system contents itself. And it is necessary for verifying through much more company samples from further study.
