  • This study was conducted to identify the effects of a comprehensive health care program for elderly living alone on blood pressure, fasting glucose, body composition, and depression at a senior welfare center in M city. The study employed a one-group, pre-posttest design. The comprehensive health care program lasted for three months, from March to June in 2015, and consisted of open health education, exercise class, health consulting and personal education, nutritional consultation, and a self-support group. The sample elements of this study were individuals over 65-years-old with hypertension or diabetes mellitus, living near a welfare center in M city. A total of 34 participants were initially selected, but five subjects who were attended less than five times were excluded; therefore, a total of 29 individuals were included. The t-test and Pearson's correlation were used to analyze the data. The characteristics of subjects were 19 male(65.52%) and 10 female(34.48%). The most common age was 70 (16 subjects;55.17%). Additionally, 14 subjects were suffering from hypertension and diabetes mellitus (48.27%), which were occupied in the largest number in this study. The average attendance number of health programs was 10.28 times(${\pm}4.17$). In this study of subjects were significantly lower systolic blood pressure(t=3.275, p=0.004), body weight(t=3.878, p=0.001), depression(t=3.308, p=0.004) compared to pre-test. As the elderly population has increased, the number of individuals living alone has also increased. Accordingly, then need for physical and psycho-social health programs targeting the elderly is greater.

  • Purpose: This study was done to examine the relation of uncertainty, uncertainty appraisal, and self-management in patients undergoing hemodialysis, and to identify factors influencing self-management. Methods: A convenience sample of 92 patients receiving hemodialysis was selected. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and medical records. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlations and multiple regression analysis with the SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: The participants showed a moderate level of uncertainty with the highest score being for ambiguity among the four uncertainty subdomains. Scores for uncertainty danger or opportunity appraisals were under the mid points. The participants were found to perform a high level of self-management such as diet control, management of arteriovenous fistula, exercise, medication, physical management, measurements of body weight and blood pressure, and social activity. The self-management of participants undergoing hemodialysis showed a significant relationship with uncertainty and uncertainty appraisal. The significant factors influencing self-management were uncertainty, uncertainty opportunity appraisal, hemodialysis duration, and having a spouse. These variables explained 32.8% of the variance in self-management. Conclusion: The results suggest that intervention programs to reduce the level of uncertainty and to increase the level of uncertainty opportunity appraisal among patients would improve the self-management of hemodialysis patients.

  • Recently, fast-growing up railway transportations. Because, regional traffic congestion problem solving and a period of rapid expansion to meet the demand of industries. In addition the government also suggest to new paradigm for the future 'Low Carbon, Green Growth' is presented as a new national vision. To meet the social needs and the time demands, Last of the railway increase very long tunnels and huge deep tunnels. Especially this trend accelerated high speed up in the tunnel, the revision of design criteria and research challenges are being actively improved. Mainly in the tunnel cross-section was under the control of the vehicle train speed 150km/hr by the construction of the vehicle cross-section of the tunnel. More than 200km/hr rail tunnel depending on the vehicle's speed caused the tunnel to the pressure fluctuations will be governed by the aerodynamic changes. Considering the economy to ensure the optimum cross-section of the railway tunnel to the description scheme is selected cross-section of the railway tunnel to determine the size domestic or international railway tunnel for the elements((based on fast Algorithm design criteria, the center line spacing, streetcar line, cross-sectional shape, sectoral issues, such as interface and aerodynamics) based on design practices and to review results. • Consumers often act impulsively when making internet purchases. Triggered by easy access to products, lack of social pressure, and absence of delivery impediments, impulse buying frequently occurs in the context of internet shopping. This study tests the structural equation model of the impulse buying process for fashion products when internet shopping and examines impulse buying process differences between Korean and Chinese consumers. A total of 985 usable questionnaires were obtained from college students. Data were analyzed by structural equation model analysis using a correlation matrix with a maximum likelihood by AMOS 21.0. Results showed that increased internet browsing by consumers resulted in more impulse buying as mediated by the urge to buy; in addition, more impulse buying by consumers resulted in a higher consumer satisfaction experience. Pure impulse buying created more important antecedents of satisfaction than the promotion-oriented impulse buying. Impulse buying showed a high similarity between Korean and Chinese consumers; however, increased influence from promotion activities resulted in more fashion product impulse buying for Chinese consumers versus Korean consumers. We confirm that one of the outcomes of the impulse buying process is impulse buying product satisfaction. Korean and Chinese consumers also present similarities and differences in fashion product impulse buying. A managerial implication is discussed for retailers of fashion products to develop strategies to increase consumer browsing and subsequently trigger impulse buying accompanied with consumer satisfaction.

  • Severe dust explosions occurred frequently in food processing industries and explosion damage increase by flame propagation in pipes or plants. However there are few fire explosion data available due to various powder characteristics. We investigated the characteristics of ignition and explosion on sugar, cornstarch and flour dust with high frequency accidents and high social demand. The measurements showed the median diameter of 27.56, 14.76, $138.5{\mu}m$ and ignition temperature has been investigated using by thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The maximum explosion pressure ($P_m$) and dust explosion index ($K_{st}$) of sugar, cornstarch and flour are 7.6, 7.6, 6.1 bar and 153, 133, 61 [$m{\cdot}bar/s$], respectively. The flame propagation time in duct was calculated in order to evaluate the damage increase due to flame propagation during dust explosion. The explosion hazard increase due to flame propagation was higher in the order of sugar, flour and cornstarch dust.

  • This study was designed to investigate differences in some aspects of value conceptions in fundamentals of nursing functions between nursing service personnel and nurse-educators. The purpose of the study was to identify the difference of value conceptions between the hospital nurses and school instructors, to contribute as a reference in strengthening the educational program in establishing nay hinder professional growth. The questionaries of this study were focused in the following aspects: 1) establishment of nursing service management system, 2) strengthening of the professionalization of nursing service, 3) hindrance in accomplishment of independent nursing functions, 4) communication skills in nurse-patient relationship, 5) activities directly related to nursing care planning, 6) communication skills in nurse-doctor relationship, 7) attitude towards taking responsibilities for patient- centered nursing approach, and 8) nursing educational approach towards preparation of professional competence in practicing independent nursing functions. 265 graduate nurses from 14 general hospitals and 88 nursing instructors from 18 schools, collegiate and diploma, were sampled. The main findings of the study were as follows; 1. Both groups responded highly in the lack of public recognition of nursing profession and hospital administrators support in establishment of nursing service management system. Further investigation is needed to define some relationship between the intrinsic and extrinsic factors which might give influence to the professional development. 2. while hospital nursing personnel responded on environmental pressure such as a heavy nursing load as the factor giving hindrance to independent nursing functions, the nurse educators responded highly on lack of nursing competence of individual nurses. An emphasis should be placed on the development of nursing interaction through professional education. If the professional model is not well established, nursing function will be limited to medical assistance. 3. 3. The patient-centered approach for nurse-patient communication had given positive respond for both group, tut lacks in team concept in problem solving process. There exist a social distance between nurses and other professional co-workers in the hospital hierarchy. 4. It was indicated that, as an intrinsic factor in the development of nursing service and nursing education, building up a philosophical basis is an utmost importance. This question is opened for further and extensive study to clarify whether existence of philosophical absence or philosophical stasis in nursing profession hinders the development.

  • The geomorphic deformation of the alluvial fans by tectonic movement was investigated along the lineaments of the northem part of the Ulsan(Bulguksa) fault system. Based on the aerial photographs interpretation and field surveys Ulsan fault system was identified as an active reverse fault which has displaced the Quatemary fan deposits. Buguksa fault system strikes for the direction of NW-SE and N-S. These two lineaments of active fault are crossing at Jinty village in Gyeongju city and the fault plane forms here almost vertical dip. The lateral pressures from the two directions have possibly influenced on the formation of the vertical dip at jinty villagy. It should be resulted from that the two pressures responsible for the active reverse fault at which the one with the NW-SE strike thrusts the hanging wall of Tohamsan block southwestward and the other pressure with the N-S strike thrusts it westward over the foot wall of the fan deposits. The marine oxygen isotope stage 8(0.30-0.25 Ma. BP) and stage 6(0.20-0.14 Ma. BP) are presumed to be the ages of high and middle surfaces of the alluvial fan, repectively. The vertical displacements on the high surfaces along the Bulguksa fault system are about 1.05 m at Ha-Dong, 9.5-10.5 m at Jinhyun-Dong, and about 10 m high at Jinty village. And the vertical displacement on the middle surface was measured about 6 m high at Ha-Dong. The average slip rate of vertical displacements is calculated about 0.03-0.43 mm/y.

  • The present study examined the factors influencing individuals' risk information seeking and processing using the case of 2015 MERS outbreak in Korea. Analyses of two-wave online panel data demonstrated that perceived risk, negative affect, subjective norm, and information insufficiency predicted the risk information seeking/avoiding as well as information processing mode, which validates the Risk Information Seeking and Processing(RISP) model. More importantly, this study found new evidence that information seeking and systematic processing promoted MERS preventive behaviors. In addition, active SNS use moderated the link between perceived risk and negative affects about MERS crisis as well as the relationship between social normative pressure and to seek the risk related information.
