An exploratory study on Chinese shoppers' perception of luxury brands' social responsibility

  • Recently China has become one of the major markets for luxury brands. In addition, practicing social responsibility by manufacturers of luxury brands has become ubiquitous because consumers' perception of such practices may affect their purchase decisions positively. This study explored Chinese shoppers' perception of luxury brands' social responsibility practices and their information seeking behavior. In this study, value congruence was used as a theoretical framework. Twelve participants were selected out of customers in a shopping mall in Beijing, and they were subject to in-depth interview. The interview consisted of open-ended questions about perception of luxury brands' social responsibility practices, sources to access such practices, and the degree of personal value congruence to such practices as well as demographic information. Qualitative approach was used to analyze the data. Half of the participants indicated their awareness of the social responsibility practices of luxury brands, which sets up a foundation for understanding importance of luxury brands' social responsibility practices. Approximately half of the participants preferred to learn about luxury brands' socially responsible practices online especially via social media. These findings imply that Chinese luxury shoppers' trust and preference for the companies would be enhanced by effective development and advertisement of companies' social responsibility practices, and thus provide luxury companies with useful information on marketing strategies.

부모상담에서 어머니의 자기은폐 수준 및 지각된 사회적 지지와 작업동맹의 관계 (Working Alliance in Parent Consultation : Relationships with Mothers' Level of Self-concealment and Perception of Social Support)

  • This research studied mothers of clients to examine relationships between level of self-concealment and level of perception of social support in the working alliance (goal concurrence, task agreement, and emotional relationships during parent consultation) as perceived by the therapist, Subjects were 87 mothers of clients and 42 therapists. The parent consultation sessions examined in this study ranged from the 3rd to the 12th session. Data were analyzed by simple regression and two-way ANOVA. Results showed that (1) the level of self-concealment affected all components of working alliance. (2) Perception of social support level affected all components of working alliance. (3) Interaction effects of levels of self-concealment with perception of social support were significant.

암환아의 개인적 변인과 사회적 지지 지각이 불안, 우울 및 자아존중감에 미치는 영향 (Anxiety, Depression, and Self-Esteem in Children with Cancer : The Influence of Personal Variables and Perception of Social Support)

  • This study analyzed the influences of personal variables and perception of social support on the anxiety, depression and self-esteem of 102 children with cancer living in Seoul. Data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, and hierarchical multiple regression. Results showed that personal variables that influenced depression, anxiety and self-esteem of children with cancer were sex, grade in school, monthly income of the family, and regularity of school attendance. Perception of social support influenced depression and self-esteem; subjects higher in perception of social support were lower in depression and higher in self-esteem.

고령친화 환경인식이 사회결속력 인식에 미치는 영향: 연령통합 인식의 매개역할을 중심으로 (The Influence of the Perception of Age-Friendly Environment on Perceived Social Bonding: Focusing on Mediating Effect of Perception of Age-Integration)

  • 본 연구는 고령친화 환경인식이 사회결속력 인식에 영향을 미치는지를 파악하고, 연령통합 인식이 고령친화 환경인식과 사회결속력 인식과의 관계를 매개하는지를 살펴보았다. 한국연구재단의 한국사회기반연구사업(SSK)에서 진행된 '2017 연령통합설문조사' 자료를 이용해서 분석하였으며, 분석에 사용된 자료는 20세에서 86세까지 성인 997명이였다. 고령친화 환경인식은 WHO에서 제시한 고령친화도시가이드라인 항목을 활용하였으며, 연령통합인식은 연령유연성과 연령다양성을 나타내는 척도로 측정하였다. 사회결속력 인식은 사회통합에 관한 측정도구로 보편적으로 사용되는 사회적 자본 척도 가운데 신뢰와 사회응집력을 묻는 문항을 사용하였다. 분석결과의 신뢰도를 높이기 위해 연령, 성별, 교육수준, 거주지역을 통제하였다. 분석결과, 고령친화 환경인식이 높을수록 대상자들의 사회결속력 인식은 높아지는 것으로 나타났고, 고령친화 환경인식은 연령통합인식에 긍정적으로 영향을 미쳐 사회결속력 인식을 높이는 것으로 분석되었다. 이러한 결과를 통해, 인구고령화로 인한 세대 간의 갈등을 완화하기 위한 고령친화 환경조성 및 연령통합인식 증진 방안을 제시하였다.

노인의 여가활동욕구와 심리사회적 노화인식 (A Study Exploring the Relationship between Leisure Needs and Perception of Psycho-Social Aging among Older Adults)

  • 본 연구는 변화되고 있는 노인들의 여가활동욕구를 파악하고, 노인복지관 이용자의 여가활동욕구 정도가 노인의 심리사회적 노화인식에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 수행되어졌다. 본 연구는 2015년 12월 1일부터 12월 20일까지 수집된 2015년 G구 노인종합사회복지관의 서비스를 이용하는 이용자 1312명의 자료를 분석하였다. 위계적 회귀분석을 한 주요한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사대상자 노인들은 심리적으로 노화에 대해 부정적으로 인식하는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 참가대상자들의 여가활동욕구 정도에 대한 인식은 스포츠참여 및 건강관련 활동, 문화예술관람활동, 지역사회교류활동, 문화예술참여활동, 취업 및 노후설계교육활동, 취미오락활동의 순으로 높게 나타났다. 셋째, 여가활동욕구 정도가 노인의 심리사회적 노화인식에 미치는 영향을 살펴본 결과, 취미오락활동 욕구와 취업 및 노후설계교육 욕구가 심리사회적 노화인식에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 통제요인인 연령과 주관적 건강상태가 심리사회적 노화인식에 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구결과를 바탕으로 한 실천적 제언으로, 노인들을 위한 다양한 여가체험활동 지원, 다양한 여가 프로그램 탐색의 기회 제공, 노년기 여가욕구와 여가활동을 지원하는 맞춤형 매칭 프로그램의 개발이 제시되었다.

Visual Perception in Autism Spectrum Disorder: A Review of Neuroimaging Studies

  • Although autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by social impairments, patients with ASD frequently manifest atypical sensory behaviors. Recently, atypical sensory perception in ASD has received much attention, yet little is known about its cause or neurobiology. Herein, we review the findings from neuroimaging studies related to visual perception in ASD. Specifically, we examined the neural underpinnings of visual detection, motion perception, and face processing in ASD. Results from neuroimaging studies indicate that atypical visual perception in ASD may be influenced by attention or higher order cognitive mechanisms, and atypical face perception may be affected by disrupted social brain network. However, there is considerable evidence for atypical early visual processing in ASD. It is likely that visual perceptual abnormalities are independent of deficits of social functions or cognition. Importantly, atypical visual perception in ASD may enhance difficulties in dealing with complex and subtle social stimuli, or improve outstanding abilities in certain fields in individuals with Savant syndrome. Thus, future research is required to elucidate the characteristics and neurobiology of autistic visual perception to effectively apply these findings in the interventions of ASD.

한국, 일본, 중국, 미국의 경쟁과 부에 대한 인식과 사회신뢰 (Perception of Competition and Wealth and Social Trust in Korea, Japan, China, and U.S.A.)

  • Other-regarding preferences (such as trust, reciprocity and altruism) between companies, between consumers and retailers, and between employers and employees are integral elements in determining economic performance. Social trust which is a core element of social capital, especially, is known to reduce transaction costs, help solve collective action problems, and contribute to economic, social, and political development. Therefore, social trust has been given a great deal of attention across an array of academic disciplines for its role in promoting cooperation among individuals and groups, and for its positive influence on economic performance. Most studies describe Korea as a low-trust society than Japan or China. To identify the causes of social trust, this paper focuses on differences of social values (perception on competition and wealth accumulation) in 4 countries (Japan, China, Korea, and United States). Based on World Values Survey data, this paper analyzes effects of the social values on social trust. Social trust was measured by degree to which a respondent thinks that most people can be trusted. Perception on competition was measured by the degree to which a respondent thinks that competition is harmful, and perception on wealth accumulation was done by the degree to which a respondent thinks that wealth can grow so there is enough for everyone. The results showed that social trust was affected by perception on competition and wealth accumulation. A respondent showed higher level of social trust when he (or she) perceived positively competition and wealth accumulation. For enhancing social trust in a country, it is not easy to reduce income inequality and corruption which were reported as causes of social trust by previous studies. Compared to them, social values can be changed more easily by various concrete measures like education and mass-media. Differently from previous studies this paper stresses the concrete measures to enhance social trust in a country.

중고령 장애인의 사회안전 인식과 영향요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Social Safety Perception and its Influential Factors for Middle-aged and Older Adults with Disabilities)

  • 본 연구는 중고령 장애인의 사회안전 인식 수준과 영향요인을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 2018년 사회조사에 응답한 50세 이상 장애인을 분석대상으로 하였으며, 응답자의 인구사회학적 요소와 위험대처수준, 본인준법수준, 타인준법수준, 공공질서 준수수준을 주요 변인으로 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 사회안전 인식에 영향을 미치는 요소와 영향의 수준을 분석했다. 분석결과 조사 응답자의 성별, 연령, 거주지역, 교육수준, 주관적 건강상태, 위험대처수준, 타인 준법수준, 공공질서 준수수준 요인이 중고령 장애인의 사회안전 인식수준에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구를 통해 중고령 장애인의 사회안전 인식에는 개인적 요건과 사회적 자본(social capital)의 중요성을 알 수 있었으며, 향후 장애유형별 안전인식에 대한 차이를 연구하거나 인식과 함께 실제적 사회안전수준도 연구에서 함께 고려해야 할 것으로 논의하였다.

간호학생의 스트레스 지각, 대처, 스트레스결과에 대한 구조모형 (A Model for Nursing Students' Stress)

  • The purpose of this study was to test the hypothetical model designed to explain nursing students' perceived stress, coping levels, and stress outcomes. This hypothetical model was based on the Kim. Jung Hee(l987)' s stress model and stress-related literature. Exogenous variables were self-efficacy. hardiness. social support. and exercise. Endogenous variables were stress perception. coping levels. and stress outcomes. Empirical data for testing the hypothetical model consisted of 205 nursing students. SAS PC Program and LISREL 8.12a program were used for descriptive statistics and linear structural relationship(LISREL) modeling. The results were as follows. 1) The overall fit of the hypothetical model to the data was good( $x^2$=78.41(p=0.010), $x^2$/ df=1.50. RMSEA=0.05, standardized RMR= 0.05, GFI=0.95, AGFI=0.91, NNFI=0.90, NFI=0.94). 2) The results of statistical testing of the hypotheses were as follows. (1) As expected. self-efficacy had a significant effect on stress perception. But. hardiness. social support, and exercise did not have a significant effect on stress perception. Self-efficacy, hardiness. social support, and exercise explained 12% of the total variance of stress perception. (2) As expected, self-efficacy, hardiness, social support, exercise, and stress perception had a significant effect on coping behavior, Self-efficacy, hardiness, social support, exercise, and stress perception explained 53% of the total variance of coping behavior. (3) As expected, stress perception and coping behavior had a significant effect on stress outcomes. Stress perception and coping behavior explained 84% of the total variance of stress outcomes. In conclusion, the hypothetical model of this study was confirmed in explaining and predicting stress perception, coping levels, and stress outcomes in nursing students. And these findings suggest the need to develop nursing intervention to enhance self-efficacy, hardiness, social support, and exercise to decrease the harmful outcomes of stress.

로하스 계층별 천연 화장품에 대한 가치 지각이 구매 의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Value Perception for Natural Cosmetics by LOHAS Class on Their Purchasing Intention)

  • This study analyzed the differences in value perception and purchasing intention for natural cosmetics by LOHAS class and investigated what influences people's value perception for natural cosmetics had on their purchasing intention. Total 450 questionnaires were distributed to adults of over 20s to 50s for the period from Dec. 1, 2011 to Dec. 14 and 410 questionnaires were used as analysis data. As for collected data, the statistical package SPSS 18.0 Version was used for factor analysis, frequency analysis, reliability test, one-way ANOVA, Chi-Square test, Scheffe-test, correlations analysis and multiple regression analysis. LOHAS class was divided into three groups (higher, middle and lower) based on LOHAS index. Through factor analysis, the value perception for natural cosmetics were divided into three factors (social value, emotional and functional value perception). The results of this study were obtained as below. First, in case of the value perception for natural cosmetics by LOHAS class, it was demonstrated that the higher LOHAS classes they were, the higher value perception for natural cosmetics (social, emotional and functional value perception) they had. Second, in case of the effects of the value perception for natural cosmetics by LOHAS class on their purchasing intention (intention to use and recommendation of usage), it was found that their value perception influenced their purchasing intention. Social value perception and functional value perception, especially social value perception largely affected the purchasing intention of all LOHAS classes, while emotional value perception didn't affected the purchasing intention.
