소셜 네트워킹 사이트에서 네트워크 외부성이 지식공유 의도에 미치는 영향: 사회적 자본과 온라인 정체성 관점 (An Effects of Network Externalities for Knowledge Sharing Intention in Social Networking Sites: Social Capital and Online Identity Perspective)

  • Nowadays, many first-time Internet users start off heavily using SNSs (Social Network Sites), such as Cyworld, Facebook, and Twitter. The reason for the growth of SNS use is closely related to the various services of gaming, playing, using entertainment items, sharing knowledge etc., provided by the SNS; technically, the most important of the services provided would be the behavior of sharing knowledge among people connected and networked in the site. In sum, we assume that the users may communicate well with each other and pay attention to building a close social network using the abovementioned activities. However, researchers have just begun to focus on the issues explaining why Internet users rush into SNSs and enjoy their time there. Therefore, we investigated the reasons for posting and sharing knowledge voluntarily on the SNS and how others respond to the posted knowledge and are actually affected by the behavior. We applied social identity theory and social capital theory in this study to find which network externalities in SNSs may affect online identity-based attachment and cause them to produce a knowledge sharing generation. We found that people's online identity in SNSs is closely related to and influences knowledge sharing. This empirical study resulted in the importance of social relations in SNSs, which leads to sharing knowledge.

  • In cut throat competition, organizations all over the world try to utilize the immense opportunities the Internet has to offer in almost all of their operations. Today, Social networking sites (SNSs) provide utilities designed to help companies to recruit right personnel. Considering the implication of social media for recruitment at infancy stage in Pakistan and lack of studies related to it, this study aims to investigate the role of different SNSs qualities (Easily navigate, Secure process, Eminence Proficiency, Candidate's Attraction and Network Expedition) in effective E-recruitment (EER). Data were collected through structured questionnaire from employees and managers of major telecom companies of Pakistan. Finally, the result of 355 returned and valid questionnaire with 55% response rate show that the relationship between SNSs qualities and EER is significant. Moreover, results also prove that EER is better than the tradition recruitment and a SNSs comparison show that Facebook is more effective than LinkedIn for EER. The results of this study will help Pakistani companies to develop a successful e-HRM and EER strategy in the current scenario.

  • Social network service(SNS), provided by social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Cyworld is rapidly growing in online business. Furthermore, many companies have growing interests in finding effective ways to use SNSs for their innovations, marketing and advertisement. In fact, firms have recognized the utility value of the SNS for their business. In this aspect, this study attempts to identify key factors influencing the intention to continuous use of SNSs. Based on the UTAUT(the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Usage of Technology)model, this study proposes the research model, including the effects of social network service characteristics(social relationship support, information sharing, image expression) and individual characteristics(self-disclosure, extroversion, familiarity) on performance expectancy as well as the moderating effect of perceived information security among UTAUT variables. The 412T sets of data collected in a survey were tested against the modeling using SEM using SmartPLS. Results indicated that social network service and individual characteristics had significant effect on performance expectancy with exception of self-disclosure. In addition, the moderating effect of perceived information security had significant effect. The results had important implications for firms providing SNSs hoping to develop a successful business model.

  • 이 논문은 최근 전 세계적으로 확산되어 다양한 분야에서 폭넓게 사용되고 있는 Social Network Service(SNS)가 오히려 사이버 범죄나 산업스파이 등과 같은 각종 불법적 행위에 악용되고 있는 상황에 즈음하여, 특히 SNS가 가지는 보안상 취약성으로 인한 위험뿐만 아니라 기업의 기밀정보 핵심기술이나 개인정보 유출, 프라이버시 침해, 신원 절도(ID Theft), 타인 정보의 오 남용, 지적재산권 침해 및 관련 법적 문제, 범죄 증거 및 수사자료 활용, 아동 포르노 등 성범죄에의 악용, 온라인상에서의 집단 따돌림(On-line Bullying) 등 각종 사회 경제적 우려가 중대하고 심지어는 테러나 사회적 파장이 큰 범죄의 목표 또는 수단이 되기도 하는 등 그 잠재적 위험성이 매우 크다는 점에 주목하였다. 사실상 국내 뿐 아니라 해외에서도 SNS의 위험성이나 Policing(경찰활동)에 미칠 영향 등과 관련한 연구가 거의 전무한 형국인지라 이에 SNS에 대한 위험성의 인식과 Policing 측면에서의 적극적인 검토와 대응이 시급히 요청되고 있는 실정임을 반영하여 이 논문을 통해 SNS의 잠재적 위험성에 대한 이론적 분석과 같은 학술적인 측면뿐만 아니라 경찰활동에 미칠 수 있는 영향에 대한 실무 실용적 관점에서 접근의 필요성을 인지하여 탐색적 연구를 시도하였다.

SNS에서 사회연결망 기반 추천과 협업필터링 기반 추천의 비교 (Comparison of Recommendation Using Social Network Analysis with Collaborative Filtering in Social Network Sites)

  • As social network services has become one of the most successful web-based business, recommendation in social network sites that assist people to choose various products and services is also widely adopted. Collaborative Filtering is one of the most widely adopted recommendation approaches, but recommendation technique that use explicit or implicit social network information from social networks has become proposed in recent research works. In this paper, we reviewed and compared research works about recommendation using social network analysis and collaborative filtering in social network sites. As the results of the analysis, we suggested the trends and implications for future research of recommendation in SNSs. It is expected that graph-based analysis on the semantic social network and systematic comparative analysis on the performances of social filtering and collaborative filtering are required.

소셜큐레이션과 광고 - 버티컬 SNS에서 표현된 패션브랜드 이미지의 메시지 전략 - (Social curation as an advertising tool - Message strategy of fashion brand images on vertical SNS -)

  • This paper examines advertising images of fashion brands in vertical social network site (SNS) from the viewpoints of message strategies. Vertical social network sites are types of social curation systems applied to social networking, where information is selected, organized, and maintained. Fashion brands communicate with consumers by presenting images on vertical SNSs, anticipating improvements in brand image, popularity, and loyalty. Those images portray content for particular brands and seasonal concepts, thus creating paths for product sales information. Marketing via SNSs corresponds to relationship marketing, which refers to long-term interrelationship and value augmentation between the company and consumer, and viral advertising, which relies on word of mouth distribution via social network platforms. Taylor's six-segment message strategy wheel, often used for analyzing viral ads, was applied to conduct a content analysis of the images. A total of 2,656 images of fashion brands advertised on Instagram were selected and analyzed. Results indicated that brand values were somewhat related to the number of followers. Follower rankings and comment rankings were also correlated. In general, fashion brands projected sensory messages most often. Acute need and rational messages were less common than other messages. Sports brands and luxury brands presented sensory messages, whereas fast fashion brands projected routine images most often. 소셜 네트워크 사이트의 구전 마케팅의 효과성 영향 요인 (Factors Affecting Viral Marketing Effectiveness in Social Network Sites)

  • Social Network Services (SNSs) have grown to be new and promising tools of marketing. By referring to researches done on e-mail viral marketing, this paper operationizes SNS viral marketing effectiveness to accurately reflect marketing success in SNS environment, and tries to identify its affecting factors. As potential affecting factors, fan size, advertisement type, existence of engagement elicitation and incentive are identified. By sampling real advertisement postings on Facebook, we showed that fan size, advertisement type, and engagement elicitation are factors affecting SNS viral marketing success. This research expanded the conventional model of viral marketing into SNS settings to improve understanding on SNS viral marketing. Motivation is discussed as an important factor, and this research showed that viral campaign can be more successful when it triggers internal motivation to engage, but not the external motivation. This research could also be a guide for practitioners on how to post a successful advertisement in SNSs.

  • 온라인 소셜 네트워크 서비스(online social network service)를 사용하는 사용자의 증가와 더불어 Twitter, LinkedIn, Tumblr 등 다양한 주제의 SNS들이 등장하고 있다. 사용자들은 SNS에 자신의 정보를 자발적으로 제공하고 서비스를 사용하나, 대용량 데이터 처리 기술의 발전과 프라이버시에 대한 인식이 고취됨에 따라 SNS 이용에 따른 프라이버시 침해가 문제점으로 부각되고 있다. 이를 해결하기 위해 기계 학습에 기반을 둔 SNS 상의 프라이버시 보호 기법들이 연구되어왔으며, 지금도 활발히 연구가 진행중이나 새로운 SNS의 등장에 따른 프라이버시 침해 사례들이 지속적으로 제기되고 있다. 본 논문은 SNS에서 써드 파티 애플리케이션 개발자, 혹은 서비스 제공자가 악의를 가지고 SNS 사용자의 프라이버시를 침해하는 상황에서 사용자가 프라이버시 유출을 사전 탐지하는 기법을 제안한다.

Differentiated impacts of SNSs on Participatory Social Capital in Korea

  • This study investigates whether different SNS with different characteristics have different impacts on participatory social capital in Korea. At least in Korea, SNS are categorized into five types (community, blog, micro-blog, profile-based service and instant message service), and participatory social capital is specified by three types (off-line political participation, on-line political participation, on-line civic engagement). Using Nielsen KoreanClick's web-based survey data, our regression analysis shows that SNS which are more open and focused on information sharing contribute more to participatory social capital.

소셜 네트워크 사이트의 소셜 추천 광고 효과에 대한 연구 (Effectiveness of Socially Recommended Advertising on Social Network Sites)

  • 본 연구에서는 소셜 추천 광고에 대해 중점적으로 살펴보고 광고 효과를 분석하였다. 구체적으로, 소셜네트워크 사이트 상의 광고 효과에 영향을 미치는 중요한 세 가지 요인, 광고 추천인의 광고 추천 의도와 관련된 보상 유형 (금전적 보상 vs. 비금전적 보상), 광고의 제품 유형 (쾌락재 vs. 실용재 ), 광고 추천인과 소비자와의 유대 강도 (강한 유대 vs. 약한 유대)에 대해 조사하였다. 보상 유형과 광고 제품 유형 간의 상호 작용 효과를 검증하기 위해 $2{\times}2$ 요인 실험 설계를 하였으며 광고 추천인과 소비자 사이의 유대 강도는 조절변수로 설정하고 분석을 실시하였다. 연구 결과, 소셜 추천 광고를 본 참가자들이 비금전적인 보상을 제공하는 쾌락재 광고를 볼 때에 효과가 가장 높았으며, 제품 유형과 보상 유형이 각각 효과를 보인 것으로 나타났다. 광고 제품 유형 및 보상 유형의 조합에서는 약한 유대에 있는 사람이 추천하는 광고보다, 강한 유대에 있는 광고 추천인이 광고 효과에 더 큰 영향력을 미친다는 조절 효과가 확인되었다. 즉, 광고 추천인과 소비자 사이의 유대 강도의 차이에 따른 조절 효과가 발생한 것이다. 본 연구 결과를 바탕으로 소셜 네트워크 사이트 상에서의 마케팅 환경 방법에 관한 시사점을 논의하였다.
