IT providers which focused marketing point on network hub have become to disseminate SNS mainly now. Many users are using the various functions of SNS to communicate each other or share the information. At this point, identifying the influencing factors to WOM(Word-Of-Mouth) of SNS is very important. In this paper, we aim to examine the effects of perceived variables on the WOM of SNS. In order to analyze the antecedents, we selected perceived factors such as perceived usefulness, perceived easiness, perceived enjoyment and perceived crowd. For statistical analysis, we surveyed real users of SNS. As a result, all antecedents of WOM showed significant influence and among the variables the perceived enjoyment has top standardized coefficient. In addition, perceived crowd has significant on perceived easiness, perceived enjoyment but not on perceived usefulness. The result of this research can be useful guidelines to increase SNS Market.

  • This study focuses on examining the determinants of smartphone-based social network services(SNS) use. That is, the study explores the key factors affecting the use of smartphone-based SNS. People who have been using online-based SNS such as Cyworld and Facebook for years are now using mobile-based SNS such as KakaoStory. Under the situation. the study attempts to draw key determinants of smartphone-based SNS use from the studies of TAM, hedonic information systems, and social perspectives. To test the hypotheses, we conducted partial least squares (PLS) analysis using a total of 233 data collected on the users of smartphone-based SNS including KakaoTalk and KakaoStory. The key findings are as follows : first, it is verified that both ease of use and usefulness, two main factors in TAM, had positive effects on smartphone-based SNS use. Second, for enjoyment and escapism considered as the two main factors of hedonic IS characteristics, only the effect of enjoyment on SNS use was significant. Finally, social ties as a factor of social characteristics had the most significant effect on smartphone-based SNS use. The result implies that smartphone-based SNS can be one of the major means of maintaining existing social ties.

  • With the development of Internet and transition to information society, social capital is expanding to online from the traditional offline context. Especially with the widespread of social network service(SNS) the number of SNS users is increasing sharply and the importance of online social capital has been more and more significant. Most studies on social capital focused on organizational aspects but few studies have payed attention to personal aspect. Empirical studies on the relation between SNS and social capital were seldom conducted in previous studies. Based on the theory of social capital this study targets on the relationship formed through SNS and analyzes on how the relationship affects the perceived social capital. In this study 'self-presentation', 'playfulness' and 'critical mass' are posited as the antecedent factors of 'SNS usage'. This study proposes a research model to examine the effect of 'SNS usage' on 'relationship reinforcement', 'relationship building' and 'perceived social capital'. According to the results of empirical analysis, 'self-presentation', 'playfulness' and 'critical mass' can generate significant positive influence on 'SNS usage'. It also confirms not only the effect of 'relationship reinforcement' and 'relationship building' formed through SNS on 'perceived social capital' but also relationship between the social capital formation and SNS usage. The outcome obtained in this study can be applied in developing SNS services.

  • The evolution of the Web from Web 1.0 to Web 2.0 has brought up new platforms as SNSs(Social Network Service) that are used by users to articulate and manage their relationships. SNSs are an online phenomenon which has become extremely popular. A SNS essentially consists of a representation of each user, his/her social links, and a variety of additional services. SNSs are increasingly attracting the attention of academic and industry researchers. What makes SNS unique is that they have a relationship with friends. The friend recommendation is one important feature of social networking services. People tend to trust the opinions of friends they know rather than the opinions of strangers. In this paper, we propose an efficient data processing method for social data. We study previous researches about social score in social network service. Our ESS(Efficient Social Score) is computed by both friendship weight and score of a document that was tagged by a user's friends. Our experimental results also confirm that our method has good performance.

  • Recently, Social Network services(SNS) is gaining popularity as Facebook and Twitter. Popularity of SNS leads to active service and social data is to be increased. Thus, social search is remarkable that provide more meaningful information to users. but previous studies using social network structure, network distance is calculated using only familiarity. It is familiar as distance on network, has been demonstrated through several experiments. If taking advantage of social context data that users are using SNS to produce, then familiarity will be helpful to evaluate further. In this paper, reflect user's attention through comments and tags, Facebook context is determined using familiarity between friends in SNS. Facebook context is advantageous finding a friend who has a similar propensity users in context of profiles and interests. As a result, we provide a blog post that interest with a close friend. We also assist in the retrieval facilities using Near Field Communication(NFC) technology. By the experiment, we show the proposed soicial search method is more effective than only tag.

This study analyzes businesses that have used social network services (SNS) in order to more successfully manage companies by utilizing SNS and to suggest the proper steps In order to accomplish this, major domestic and foreign business cases were selected in order to investigate factors of success and failure for each of them. The analysis results show that the companies that utilized SNS successfully understood the characteristics of SNS and constantly tried creative marketing. On the other hand, enterprises that failed to use SNS properly showed low understanding of SNS and abnormal ways of marketing. Therefore, this research suggests the following conclusion. First of all, sufficient knowledge and understanding of the characteristics of SNS are necessary in order to properly utilize SNS. Next, it is imperative to use SNS not only as a tool to communicate with customers, but also to understand the generations that use SNS. Finally, it would be best to implement a more open wireless internet mobile environment for more active use of SNS.

  • This study uses the concepts of mental accounting and coupling in consumption to demonstrate a systematic relationship between behavioral costs, sunk costs, coupling, and user intention to discontinue social network services (SNS) use. An analysis of 213 SNS users found that coupling and sunk costs are two major factors that influence an individual's intention to discontinue SNS use. An interesting finding of this study is that the perception of coupling is created by behavioral costs in the context of an SNS. This finding implies that the source of cost perception when perceiving coupling may differ depending on whether the product or service is traditional or web-based. These results contribute to an expansion of the theoretical discussion of individual-level discontinuance intention after adopting SNS by conceptualizing the perception of coupling.

  • The social network services (SNS) like Facebook, have gained an enormous amount of popularity. However, side-effects of Facebook usage are occasionally reported such as sense of alienation and cyber-bullying. Among these potential factors threatening to the success of SNS, this research focused on alienation and intends to investigate possible factors that affect SNS alienation and how it affects on SNS attachment and proactive use of SNS. Through extensive literature reviews regarding online and offline alienation, SNS characteristics, and SNS usage, we generated the research model and hypotheses. We surveyed 142 Facebook users and empirically proved that among SNS characteristics, complexity increases SNS alienation, and interactivity and social presence positively affect SNS attachment. Offline alienation, one of the personal attributes, increases both SNS alienation and SNS attachment at the same time while the number of SNS friends have no significant effects. In addition, SNS alienation decreases proactive use of Facebook while SNS attachment increases it. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed based on research findings, and we also suggest future research directions to minimize negative consequences due to SNS users' sense of alienation.
