Convergence of IT devices and fashion is enabling the industry to take fully different approaches in various areas including product planning, fabric selecting, distributing, and marketing. At the same time, it also transforms the definition of clothing itself. Convergence of IT technologies in the realm of fashion and textiles industries can create a powerful synergy through connection digital devices, such as mobile phone. In this context, this study attempts to suggest how IT technology can be efficiently harnessed through the usage of mobile devices in the planning stage of fashion materials, where the initial production plan of a clothing item is mapped out. This study ultimately aims to enhance the effectiveness of databases on fashion material information by using mobile devices to utilize NFC, an RFID technology having as much revolutionary power as Internet - which can be the convergence between IT and fashion across the software dimensions. To pursue this research, data on fashion material information regarding 200 woven fabric specimens were provided by textile companies. The information includes elements such as its composition, weight, width, yarn, density and sales report. These pieces of information were organized into a database. Drawing on this data, Android-based applications that allow smart phones to read off fabric information from NFC tags were developed for this study using two methods. The system works as follows: 1. NFC tag stickers are attached onto the hangers where 200 fabric samples are hanging. 2. The NFC tag stickers are tagged, or read off from a smart phone that support NFC functions. 3. Upon tagging, the Smart phone swiftly displays all information available on its screen - not only the aforementioned six elements, but also the image of the clothing item from the fabric in its finalized product form, and the video of the model wearing the item - for convenient view. The method harbors immense potential for the fashion industry in general, and will also be useful in those fields inside the industry that harness NFC technology.
In this work, we study smart gloves that can prevent carpal tunnel syndrome when using a mouse. Because the left and right wrist movements are fine, a tensile fabric sensor with a large gauge factor and low hysteresis was required before the study. A universal testing machine was used to calculate each gauge rate on four different fabrics, and the fabric with the least hysteresis was selected. In addition, three attachment methods were analyzed using Arduino to select a method with a large sensor value change. For prototypes made by attaching to the selected fabric, data patterns were analyzed using Arduino. The first method identifies only one sensor (A sensor), and the second identifies two sensors (A and B sensors). When the wrist is bent to the right, tensile fabric sensors are attached to both the left (A sensor) and right (B sensor) sides of the wrist, the A sensor is strained, increasing the △sensor value, and the B sensor is relaxed, decreasing the △sensor value. However, when the wrist was bent to the left, the pattern was analyzed in the opposite direction. Through this study, we examined smart gloves to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome with an algorithm that turns on the LED when the wrist is bent, and based on the results of this study, we will directly use mice on 10 people to identify problems and solve problems when used.
An enterprise patch-management system (PMS) typically supplies a single point of failure (SPOF) of centralization structure. However, a Blockchain system offers features of decentralization, transaction integrity, user certification, and a smart chaincode. This study proposes a Hyperledger Fabric Blockchain-based distributed patch-management system and verifies its technological feasibility through prototyping, so that all participating users can be protected from various threats. In particular, by adopting a private chain for patch file set management, it is designed as a Blockchain system that can enhance security, log management, latest status supervision and monitoring functions. In addition, it uses a Hyperledger Fabric that owns a practical Byzantine fault tolerant consensus algorithm, and implements the functions of upload patch file set, download patch file set, and audit patch file history, which are major features of PMS, as a smart contract (chaincode), and verified this operation. The distributed ledger structure of Blockchain-based PMS can be a solution for distributor and client authentication and forgery problems, SPOF problem, and distribution record reliability problem. It not only presents an alternative to dealing with central management server loads and failures, but it also provides a higher level of security and availability.

Internet of Things (IoT) integrated with the Blockchain is the state of the art for keen cultivation and agriculture. Recently the interest in agribusiness information is enlarging owing to the fact of commercializing the smart farming technology. Agribusiness information are known to be untidy, and experts are worried about the legitimacy of information. The blockchain can be a potential answer for the expert's concern on the uncertainty of the agriculture data. This paper proposes an Agri-Banana plant system using Blockchain integrated with IoT. The system is designed by employing IoT sensors incorporated with Hyperledger fabric network, aims to provide farmers with secure storage for preserving the large amounts of IoT and agriculture data that cannot be tampered with. A banana smart contract is implemented between farmer peer and buyer peer of two different organizations under the Hyperledger fabric network setup aids in secure transaction of transferring banana from farmer to buyer.
Blockchain is an enabling technology for managing data with high trust and transparency among connected computers. Blockchain emerged with the advent of the Bitcoin cryptocurrency, and then, evolved as general-purpose platforms such as Ethereum, EOS, R3 Corda, and IBM Hyperledger Fabric. The application of blockchain covers a broad range of areas such as fintech, decentralized identity, distribution, real estate trading, games, and drone air traffic management. Smart contracts are indispensable for constructing blockchain services. This survey classifies smart contract languages by their features and shows their differences from existing general-purpose programming languages.

Seam puckering and the seam strength of conductive threads used to produce smart clothing were analyzed according to stitching methods and fabrics. Samples were prepared in a lock stitch and zigzag stitch on plain woven and jersey knit fabric, using one type of polyester sewing thread and three types of commercial conductive threads that consisted of two types of stainless-steel conductive threads (TST and MST) and one type of silver conductive thread (SSV). Seam pucker percentages, shapes, and seam strength were measured. On plain woven fabric as well as jersey knit fabric, three-ply TST and MST showed a higher SP percentage compared to a polyester sewing thread. Meanwhile, single-ply SSV showed the lowest SP percentage. In addition, the SP percentage of the zigzag stitch decreased along the weft and course directions of the fabric, and decreased significantly as the number of fabric layers increased. Moreover, there was a marked tendency for a higher SP percentage in jersey knit fabric compared to plain woven fabric, and the two-dimensional cross-section waveforms of stitches obtained using three-dimensional data that showed increased irregular waveforms and peaks in the zigzag stitch. There were no correlations between seam strength and tensile strength.

The aim of this study was to impart color to bacterial cellulose (BC) fabric using various natural plant-based dyes-namely, gardenia jasminoides, green tea, and pomegranate peel. A protein pretreatment was also applied to improve the BC fabric's dyeability and mechanical properties. The BC fabric's dyeing and mordanting conditions when using plant-based natural dyes were determined by changes in the K/S values. The dyeability of BC samples dyed with green tea or pomegranate peel improved when they were pretreated with soy protein isolate (SPI) prior to dyeing. Moreover, the SPI pretreatment was efficient in improving the BC fabric's tensile strength and flexibility. This study proposes a method for dyeing BC fabric that uses plant-based natural dyes and confirms the effects of the protein pretreatment on the fabric's dyeability and durability.
We proposed a simple process of creating electroconductive textiles by using PEDOT:PSS(Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):poly(styrenesulfonate))/non-oxidized graphene to coat polyamide or polyurethane knitted fabric for smart healthcare purposes. Electroconductive textiles were obtained through a coating process that used different amounts of PEDOT:PSS/non-oxidized graphene solutions on polyamide/polyurethane knitted fabric. Subsequently, the surface, electrical, chemical, weight change, and elongation properties were evaluated according to the ratio of PEDOT:PSS/non-oxidized graphene composite(1.3 wt%:1.0 wt%; 1.3 wt%:0.6 wt%; 1.3 wt%:0.3 wt%) and the number of applications(once, twice, or thrice). The specimens' surface morphology was observed by FE-SEM. Further, their chemical structures were characterized using FTIR and Raman spectroscopy. The electrical properties measurement (sheet resistance) of the specimens, which was conducted by four-point contacts, shows the increase in conductivity with non-oxidized graphene and the number of applications in the composite system. Moreover, a test of the fabrics' mechanical properties shows that PEDOT:PSS/non-oxidized graphene-treated fabrics exhibited less elongation and better ability to recover their original length than untreated samples. Furthermore, the PEDOT:PSS/non-oxidized graphene polyamide/polyurethane knitted fabric was tested by performing tensile operations 1,000 times with a tensile strength of 20%; Consequently, sensors maintained a constant resistance without noticeable damage. This indicates that PEDOT:PSS/non-oxidized graphene strain sensors have sufficient durability and conductivity to be used as smart wearable devices.

Most of today's large-scale cloud systems and enterprise data centers are distributing resources to improve scalability and resource utilization. NVMe-over-Fabric protocol allows submitting NVMe commands to a remote NVMe SSD through RDMA (Remote Direct Memory Access) network. It is attracting attention recently because it is possible to construct a disaggregation storage system with low latency through the protocol. However, the current I/O stack of NVMe-over-Fabric has an inefficient structure for maintaining compatibility with the traditional I/O stack. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new mechanism to reduce I/O latency and CPU overhead by modifying I/O path of NVMe-over-Fabric to pass through legacy block layer. According to the performance evaluation results, the proposed mechanism is able to reduce the I/O latency and CPU overhead by up to 22% and 24% compared to the existing NVMe-over-Fabrics protocol, respectively.

Conventional fabrics that have modified in to conductive fabrics using conductive nanomaterials have novel applications in different fields. These of fabrics can be used as heat generators with the help of the Joule heating mechanism, which is applicable in thermal therapy and to maintain the warmth in cold weather conditions in a wearable manner. A modified fabric can also be used as a sensor for body temperature measurements using the variation of resistance with respect to the body temperature deviations. In this study, polyol synthesized silver nanowires (Ag NWs) are incorporated to commercially available cotton fabrics by using drop casting method to modify the fabric as a thermogenic temperature sensor. The variation of sheet resistance of the fabrics with respect to the incorporated mass of Ag NWs was measured by four probe technique while the bulk resistance variation with respect to the temperature was measured using a standard ohm meter. Heat generation profiles of the fabrics were investigated using thermo graphic camera. Electrically conductive fabrics, fabricated by incorporating 30 mg of Ag NWs in 25 ㎠ area of cotton fabric can be heated up to a maximum steady state temperature of 45℃, using a commercially available 9 V battery.
