  • The advent of ubiquitous connectivity from smart devices and network is changing the lifestyles of workers and work patterns. However, the smart work for the knowledge workers and mobile workers is not yet popular due to not enough services in supporting smart work and difficulties in employing smart work. For these reasons, it is necessary to study the current smart work industry to provide the bases for incubating smart work industry and increasing the smart work adoption. In this study, first, we reviewed and analyzed the smart work services. And then, we classified the smart work industry based on their services. Second, we conducted a survey study to identify the factors that affect on the adoption of smart work. Finally, we provided the current adoption rate of smart work services and discussed the Willing-To-Use, cost, and barriers from the smart work adoption.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine an organizational performance difference by individual utilization level of the smart work. The Smart work help minimizing business process and improving organization productivity based on information technology. This new technology provides a flexible way of the task through smart-work center, videoconferencing, telecommuting, mobile(remote control) and business-only messenger. This investment changes organizational culture, institutions and behavior by new technology applying. The organization system change due to smart work has trouble between alteration preferences and existing maintains a group. In response, the organization should make investment justification of smart work for institutional and culture stabilized by a new system in organization. I set up the analytical process of four stages for empirical research. It will analyze an operation difference of the smart work between pre and post investment in the first-step analysis. The two-step analysis will conduct a text mining analysis of smart work operations. The three-step analysis will identify organization performance differences among individual levels in smart work. The four-step analysis will identify a factor difference in organizational performance by individual utilization level on smart work. According to the study, It has been revealed a difference between the pre and post investment performance on smart work. The text mining analyses many appeared an improvement opinion of organizational culture. Next, there is a difference in organization performance among utilize groups of smart work. Furthermore, the factors of organizational performance among groups appeared differently. The theoretical contribution of this study provided to expand the organizational theory of organization change and resistance. The practical implications provided to require a strong guideline an organizational culture and institution for smart work.

  • Smart work, which is defined as work performed at home, satellite offices or with the smart devices to continually collaborate with the co-workers in anytime, anywhere using IT, is attracting much attention as an alternative work way to cope with the demographical changes of the low fertility and aging. Whereas some implementation cases of smart work have been considered as the success, the other cases have been reported as the failure to implement smart work practices. Nevertheless, there are few researches to identify the reasons of successful ways to adopting smart work. This study integrated the IT-based changes with the smart work practices to identify the critical success factors of smart work in individual, organization and industry levels. As the results, we found out the expected values of introduction, core elements of implementation, and industry characteristics to efficient adoption for smart work. Also, this study compared these evidences with the incumbent smart work policies. The contributions of this study is to develop the guideline to adopting smart work, the smart work implementation strategy and the improvement on the business process.

  • Smart Work is a way of working independent of time and space restrictions with the help of ICT. For past years, Korea has been promoting Smart Work to boost ICT industry, to overcome low birth rate and population ageing, and to implement Smart Korea. Three elements of Smart Work include people, technology and space. A lot of research has been performed on people and technology for Smart Work. But it is hard to find research on space. In this paper, some representative smart work centers(SWCs) in Korea were selected and analyzed from the perspective of spatial design including general characteristics, personal spaces, group spaces, and support spaces. From this research, it is observed that current SWCs in Korea are good in providing personal work spaces and simple group meeting rooms as well as ICT environments. However, they lack of openness to the public and group spaces to encourage informal communications. It is also observed that personal space plans need to be multi-functional, and that novel supporting spaces are required to improve quality of life and creativity of workers.

  • In the recent society of knowledge industry, a changed phenomenon of domestic corporate culture, Work Smart working in creative and various ways beyond time and space is emerged from Work Hard working just hard. Thus, many corporations are trying to configure the emotional space beside the work space to make effective and creative achievements in free work environment out of rigid organizational culture in the past. This space is called Amenity space which enables to implement physical and psychological healings simultaneously and this is not a place for rest like in the past industry society. This research suggests distinctive characteristics of other amenity furniture unlike general furniture by analyzing the variously suggested change of forms of amenity furniture for Work Smart and the changes of configuring key factors such as forms, structures and functions of amenity furniture.

  • Smart work can classify three types. First, mobile office equipped with a portable computer and connect to the company servers and Intranet via mobile phones. Second, home working using video conference system. Third, smart work center. Smart work has enabled us to work efficiently, to work anytime and to work anywhere, beyond conventional office working. This paper presents development processes of a smart work for After Service Business, especially, for the elevator industry. we called implemented mobile office system "A/S work". A/S work using mobile devices has some advantages as compared with previous system. 1) Before/After photo management function 2) Assessment process of customer satisfaction 3) The work history management app. 4) The inquiry and confirmation function to current status of all workers 5) The group SMS function sending selected workers. 'M' elevator company has used A/S work as efficient smart work system.

  • In this paper, we propose a new approach to intelligent control based on fuzzy logic for work efficiency improvement of smart factory by the applicaion of ariticulated robot. The intelligent control that is applied to the working process by the joint of robotic manipulator is the main focus to improve a work efficiency for implimentation of smart factory in general manufacturing process. In this study, we propose a new method of a fuzzy model and then develop a nonlinear relationship between interaction forces and manipulator position using a fuzzy model. The reliability of the proposed control method is illustrated by simulation and experiments.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the diffusion period and productivity of smartwork in an organization. Firms are increasingly interested in smartwork for non contact work and working from home because of the corona 19. The smartwork is a new technology that changes face-to-face work in an organization. It helps the work of individuals and organizations regardless of time and place. The theoretical background describes the complexity, system thinking, diffusion theory, smart work, organizational resistance, and productivity. This study analyzes the diffusion period and productivity of smart work through business simulation techniques. A simulation study progresses four stages. There are problem definition, hypothesis establishment and causal loop diagram, model construction and verification, and policy evaluation. The simulation models contain an individual's resistance variables organizational investment and leadership variables related to the operation of smartwork. The organizational investment variables include organizational culture, legal system, implement systems and technology investment. The individual resistance variables include cognitive, attitude, structure and technological resistance. The leadership includes leadership interest variables and performance linkage variables. The simulation executed the changes of a people number adopting smart work and the organizational productivity monthly. As a result of the simulation, many organization members have accepted the smart work innovation after 20 months. The organizational productivity through smart work showed very high value after 16 months. In scenario analysis, the individuals' awareness and attitude resistance showed very important variables to productivity and a personal change of smart work adoption. Meanwhile, The organizational investment showed that the high driving-force increased not productivity and the low driving-force showed decreased low productivity. Also, leadership variables showed a powerful driver for changing smart work productivity. The implication of the study has suggested extending complexity, diffusion theory and organization resistance theory based on simulation methods.
