Industry 5.0 puts forward higher requirements for smart cities, including low-carbon, sustainable, and people-oriented, which pose challenges to the design of smart cities. In response to the above challenges, this study introduces the cyber-physical-social system (CPSS) and parallel system theory into the design of smart cities, and constructs a smart city framework based on parallel system theory. On this basis, in order to enhance the security of smart cities, a sustainable patrol subsystem for smart cities has been established. The intelligent patrol system uses a drone platform, and the trajectory planning of the drone is a key problem that needs to be solved. Therefore, a mathematical model was established that considers various objectives, including minimizing carbon emissions, minimizing noise impact, and maximizing coverage area, while also taking into account the flight performance constraints of drones. In addition, an improved metaheuristic algorithm based on ant colony optimization (ACO) algorithm was designed for trajectory planning of patrol drones. Finally, a digital environmental map was established based on real urban scenes and simulation experiments were conducted. The results show that compared with the other three metaheuristic algorithms, the algorithm designed in this study has the best performance.
These-days technology related to IoT (Internet of Thing) is widely used and there are many types of smart system based IoT like smart health, smart building and so on. In smart health system, it is possible to check someone's health by analyzing data from wearable IoT device like smart watch. Smart building system aims to collect data from sensor such as humidity, temperature, human counter like that and control the building for energy efficiency, security, safety and so forth. Furthermore, smart city system can comprise several smart systems like smart building, smart health, smart mobility, smart energy and etc. In this paper, we propose multimedia IoT based intelligent emergency alarm system for smart city. In existing IoT based smart system, it communicates lightweight data like text data. In the past, due to network's limitations lightweight IoT protocol was proposed for communicating data between things but now network technology develops, problem which is to communicate heavy data is solving. The proposed system obtains video from IP cameras/CCTVs, analyses the video by exploiting AI algorithm for detecting emergencies and prevents them which cause damage or death. If emergency is detected, the proposed system sends warning message that emergency may occur to people or agencies. We built prototype of the intelligent emergency alarm system based on MQTT and assured that the system detected dangerous situation and sent alarm messages. From the test results, it is expected that the system can prevent damages of people, nature and save human life from emergency.

The deployment of 5G is in full swing, with a significant yearly growth in the data traffic expected to reach 26% by the year and data consumption to reach 122 EB per month by 2022 [10]. In parallel, the idea of smart cities has been implemented by various governments and private organizations. One of the main objectives of 5G deployment is to help develop and realize smart cities. 5G can support the enhanced data delivery requirements and the mass connection requirements of a smart city environment. However, for specific high-demanding applications like tactile Internet, transportation, and augmented reality, the cloud-based 5G infrastructure cannot deliver the required quality of services. We suggest using multi-access edge computing (MEC) technology for smart cities' environments to provide the necessary support. In cloud computing, the dependency on a central server for computation and storage adds extra cost in terms of higher latency. We present a few scenarios to demonstrate how the MEC, with its distributed architecture and closer proximity to the end nodes can significantly improve the quality of services by reducing the latency. This paper has surveyed the existing work in MEC for 5G and highlights various challenges and opportunities. Moreover, we propose a unique framework based on the use of MEC for 5G in a smart city environment. This framework works at multiple levels, where each level has its own defined functionalities. The proposed framework uses the MEC and introduces edge-sub levels to keep the computing infrastructure much closer to the end nodes.

Despite the global promotion of Smart City, there is currently no standard for smart water grid development, and it is not possible to judge the success of Smart City. There is a clear need to establish the requirements and goals of the Smart Water Grid and accurately diagnose and improve the limitations and problems of the existing Smart Water Grid. For this purpose, it is very important to use the index suitable for Smart Water Grid goals. In this study, we developed Smart Water Grid Index which can be used to evaluate the target measurement and attainment of Smart Water Grid and can be utilized based on the implementation plan for Smart Water Grid in the future. Through the development of the Smart Water Grid Key Performance Index (SWG KPI), we will lay the groundwork for continuous capacity evaluation of the Smart Water Grid and improve the reliability of the Index. It is expected that it will be possible to prepare and evaluate a Challenge Evaluation Card for the planned Smart Water Grid by providing an evaluation table for grid competency evaluation.

In this age, where the social environment is changing rapidly and unpredictably, interest in safety from crime is increasing in Korean society. As the desire to live a life free from the fear of crime increases, interest in the construction of safe cities is also rising nationwide. To meet the national demand, the Korean government is promoting a project to link public disaster safety systems by involving municipalities, 112, 119, and other emergency services and institutions through the Smart City Integrated Platform in order to construct a smart safety net. This study investigates the linking of theSmart City Integrated Platform and theIntelligent Security Project. The results are as follows. 1. The linkage's objective is clear. 2. The system sector can provide information to accident-related organizations. 3. The scenario area can be expanded to a crime-prevention sector, and a long-term urban information integration infrastructure can be created. 4. Product testing is enabled by a smart city road map and through continuous consultation with relevant organizations. 5. Project diffusion to other local governments can be promoted with the continued addition of commercial products.
A smart city is a massive internet of things (IoT) environment, where all terminal devices are connected to a network to create and share information. In accordance with massive IoT environments, millions of IoT devices are connected, and countless data are generated in real time. However, since heterogeneous IoT devices are used, collecting the logs for each IoT device is difficult. Due to these issues, when an IoT device is invaded or is engaged in malicious behavior, such as infection with malware, it is difficult to respond quickly, and additional damage may occur due to information leakage or stopping the IoT device. To solve this problem, in this paper, we propose identifying the attack technique used for initial access to IoT devices through MITRE ATT&CK, collect the logs that can be generated from the identified attack technique, and use them to identify the cause of malware infection.

The citizen is going to live on security for better life stably in all times, and, as for such human basic desire, it is to the base which is important about the durability and the development of the smart city. I defined needs and the priority about the disaster recovery of the community as a citizen through date analysis until I came back to the normal environment again after a smart city suffered the damage by the misfortune in the study. I was going to suggest a method to support inhabitants of the damage area that was the immediate, and was necessary for a base in such date analysis and recovery of the community. I considered the Great East Japan Earthquake in an example in 2011. I studied the smart city plan which could improve the resilience of the local citizen and community through data utilization.
