  • Because small and medium-sized businesses lack capabilities and resources, they must effectively procure, share, and utilize scarce resources from outside, and as a result, the importance of networks with external organizations is gradually increasing. In this study, we verified the influence of small and medium-sized enterprises' network capabilities and network characteristics on market performance and financial performance. As a result of testing the hypothesis through a structural equation model, network capabilities were found to have a significant partial impact on financial performance, and all sub-factors of network characteristics such as strength, size, and diversity were found to affect financial performance. Additionally, network capabilities and network characteristics were found to have a significant partial effect on market performance. Market performance was found to have a partial mediating effect in the relationship between network capabilities and financial performance, and a partial mediating effect in the relationship between network characteristics and financial performance. Unlike previous studies, this study simultaneously analyzed the impact of two factors, network capabilities and network characteristics, on corporate performance and presented a new research perspective by analyzing the mediating effect of market performance, which is recognized as a leading factor in financial performance.

  • In this study, small and medium-sized manufacturing and distribution businesses were asked to demonstrate how the risks that could arise from implementing ITOs affect their performance. Small and medium-sized enterprises that want to reduce costs or secure competitiveness through outsourcing ITO conducted research to identify and analyze risks of ITO and improve corporate performance. Strategic, technical, and financial risks were selected as independent variables for analysis by the survey method. In addition, relationship risk was selected as a parameter and corporate performance was selected as a dependent variable to conduct a path analysis. The analysis showed that the variables injected as independent variables had indirect and total effects on corporate performance. This can be interpreted as the higher the level of awareness of strategic and technological risks and financial risks, the higher the level of relational risk, and thus the positive impact on corporate performance. We expect to improve corporate performance through analysis of more and more risk factors in the future.

  • While there have been studies on the impact of government financial support on the performance of these enterprises, there is limited research on how entrepreneurs' perceptions of such policies affect business performance. Additionally, there is scarce domestic research on the role of entrepreneurial persistence in achieving and sustaining entrepreneurial goals and its impact on business performance. Therefore, the aim of this study is to analyze how entrepreneurs' perceptions of government policy support affect business performance and to explore the mediating effect of entrepreneurial persistence, shedding light on the significance of perceptions and deepening the understanding of entrepreneurial persistence. This study utilizes entrepreneurs' perceptions of government support for South Korean small and venture enterprises, and entrepreneurship as independent variables, with entrepreneurial persistence as a mediating variable and non-financial performance of businesses as the dependent variable. Data was collected through surveys targeting founders, CEOs, and executives of small and venture enterprises. After excluding incomplete responses, a total of 205 survey responses were used for hypothesis testing. The results of this study are as follows. First, it was verified that the perception of SME policy support and entrepreneurship have a significant positive impact on business performance. Second, it was verified that entrepreneurial persistence partially mediates the relationship between the perception of SME policy support and entrepreneurship and business performance. The theoretical implications of this study are twofold. First, it highlights the significant positive impact of entrepreneurs' perceptions of policy support on the non-financial performance of small and venture enterprises. This contributes to the theoretical understanding by demonstrating that entrepreneurs' perceptions play a role in affecting business performance, in contrast to previous research that focused on the impact of policy financial support on business performance. Second, this study extends the theoretical understanding of entrepreneurial persistence, a relatively understudied concept in domestic research, by demonstrating its mediating role in the relationship between entrepreneurs' perceptions of government support and, entrepreneurship, and business performance. Practically, the study suggests that to enhance the performance of small and venture enterprises, the government should not only expand policy support but also seek ways to increase entrepreneurs' perceptions of such support.

  • In the situation where expectations for the growth potential of the domestic offshore wind market are increasing due to the bright growth prospect of the global offshore wind market and the motivated plan of the Korean government, domestic and foreign literature on the direction of offshore wind power generation are examined for the successful development of domestic offshore wind power, the introduction of offshore wind power is diagnosed, and improvement plans are presented for the wind power-related system being promoted by the government. In addition, practical support measures are suggested to foster related SMEs. The results of the study are as follows. First, as technology development is mainly focused on large corporations, the development capacity of small and medium manufacturing industry is very low. Therefore, it is necessary to establish and operate a core center led by government agencies to provide technical support with the initiative of national research institutes and large corporations, and universities and national research institutes should strengthen the independence of small and medium-sized enterprises through training and research and development of professional manpower. Second, as a result of the survey on the practical support plan of the company, it was found that there is a need for various support for technology development and commercialization of produced parts.

  • The Chemical Control Act has revised in 2015 to promote chemical safety, particularly enhancing the standards for the installation and management of hazardous chemical handling facilities. However, in some existing facilities, it was difficult to comply with some facility standards because of lack of land, safety accident possibility during rebuilding. In this study, we attempted to provide a more rational approach of dike standard which was the highest(2017: 117, 2018: 83) complaint for two years(2017~2018, 1,087) by prior study, FLACS simulation, analyze safety management standard and conduct a survey. Therefore, considering the purpose of installing the discharge wall only at existing facilities in operation, additional sensors that can detect chemical leakage and leakage were recognized as an additional alternative to installing and operating closed circuit television (CCTV). This will help the safety and cost aspects of small or medium-sized businesses or small and medium-sized enterprises that cannot secure legal grounds or fail to enforce legal regulations due to economic problems such as construction costs.
