Purpose: Environment test support is urgent for small and medium defense companies in order to improve the reliability of weapons systems. Also, to reduce the burden of test costs, the voucher system must be strengthened. Quality assurance support should be accompanied by budget support. Methods: First of all, it is necessary to expand infrastructure for test equipment that suffers shortages by considering environmental test frequency and waiting periods to reduce the time required for environmental tests. Results: In regard to the environmental test, expansion for test equipment infrastructure, security of budget for the test, establishment of test plan, education and consulting support are required to resolve some limits of small and medium defense companies. Conclusion: Along with the opening of environmental test courses for industry operators, the expansion for consulting support projects of the defense industry support system is needed.

The contractor management is one of the important factors for the modem defense acquisition program. The occurrence of unlawful company causes the reason in which defense acquisition program is unable to be reasonably fulfilled and setback to the deployment of defense weapon system. In this paper, we propose the Artificial Neural Network to develop a prediction model for the discrimination of unlawful company in defense procurement. The data which are used in analysis, are obtained targeting domestic small & medium manufacture enterprises. It is expected that our model can be used to improve the program management capability for defense acquisition and contribute to the establishment of efficient procurement procedure through entry of the reliable domestic manufacturer.

Recently, digitalization is accelerating in all industries, and the use of information and personal information produced and used in the process of it is very important for the success or failure of a company. However, malicious attempts to steal or leak major information and personal information of a company as an adverse effect continue to increase, and appropriate defense and response are absolutely necessary. However, in the case of small and medium-sized enterprises, the priority of information protection and the possession of professional manpower are very insufficient compared to large enterprises. This paper studies the certification and audit implemented in Korea, and suggests ways to expand the certification of the information protection system suitable for SMEs and improve the effectiveness of the support system through the expansion of the privacy law notification standard and operation of support system.

This study is designed to explore whether the integration of product development and quality management have influence on the success of localization of weapon system. To that end, empirical analysis has been conducted on a total of 110 systematic major defense contractors, their subcontractors and small-and-medium sized defense contractors. The result shows that success of the localization of weapons system, as well as the price of localization, manufacturing time, and quality turn out to have significantly influenced by factors of quality management capabilities including human resources development capability, organizational capability and process capability and R&D development factors including human resources capabilities, capability to accumulate technology and internal/external collaborative capabilities. To sum up, this study suggests that integration of quality management and product development continuously provides a competitive strength in developing new product by a non-defense company as well as localization of core parts of weapon system.
