Adaptation of the parameters of the physical layer of data transmission in self-organizing networks based on unmanned aerial vehicles

  • The article discusses the features of adaptation of the parameters of the physical layer of data transmission in self-organizing networks based on unmanned aerial vehicles operating in the conditions of "smart cities". The concept of cities of this type is defined, the historical path of formation, the current state and prospects for further development in the aspect of transition to "smart cities" of the third generation are shown. Cities of this type are aimed at providing more comfortable and safe living conditions for citizens and autonomous automated work of all components of the urban economy. The perspective of the development of urban mobile automated technical means of infocommunications is shown, one of the leading directions of which is the creation and active use of wireless self-organizing networks based on unmanned aerial vehicles. The advantages of using small-sized unmanned aerial vehicles for organizing networks of this type are considered, as well as the range of tasks to be solved in the conditions of modern "smart cities". It is shown that for the transition to self-organizing networks in the conditions of "smart cities" of the third generation, it is necessary to ensure the adaptation of various levels of OSI network models to dynamically changing operating conditions, which is especially important for the physical layer. To maintain an acceptable level of the value of the bit error probability when transmitting command and telemetry data, it is proposed to adaptively change the coding rate depending on the signal-to-noise ratio at the receiver input (or on the number of channel decoder errors), and when transmitting payload data, it is also proposed to adaptively change the coding rate together with the choice of modulation methods that differ in energy and spectral efficiency. As options for the practical implementation of these solutions, it is proposed to use an approach based on the principles of neuro-fuzzy control, for which examples of determining the boundaries of theoretically achievable efficiency are given.

조망경관계획에서 조망점 설정 특성에 관한 연구 -전라남도 중소도시 사례를 대상으로- (A Study on Characteristics of the View point Setting in Urban scape Plan -In the case of the Regional Small & Medium Cities in Jeollanamdo-)

  • This study is designed to examine characteristics and types of basic landscape design established by 7 local governments in Jeollanam-do and its availability as the index of landscape administration and present a guideline with view landscape plan of local governments. The results of this study are described below. In case of view landscape, while Korean cities have not many historical assets like landmark, they have locational characteristics with mountain or coast in the center or surroundings of downtown. Therefore, since view landscape has many cases of restricting individual property rights as well as having a value as public property of city which makes recognition of sharing city, it is very sensitive problem and establishing guideline of it is needed. But, it was found that view landscape plan of local governments established location of view spot with the nature of relief viewing downtown or coast from high spot. Selection of viewing objects in view plan require deciding an object as the public property of city and big cities require selection from the zone and small cities must select 1~2 spots from the viewpoint of whole downtown. 3~4 view spots of middle and distant views which makes city community centering around the subject of view must be selected through enough discussion and in case of natural landscape, View shaft or visible rays require setting of range that 30% of viewing objects is seen. View spot or viewing objects should be selected over twice as extra spots through public hearing and civil participation as the process.

도농통합시의 지속가능한 개발을 위한 지역특성 분석 (An Analysis of the Regional Characteristics in Agropolitan Cities for Sustainable Development)

  • 도시와 농촌간의 균형 있는 발전을 유도하기 위해서 탄생된 도농통합시는 지역특성을 고려하지 않은 무분별한 개발양상으로 인해 지역적 불균형이 더욱 심화되고 있는 실정이다. 따라서, 본 연구는 경상북도의 도농통합시를 대상으로 지속가능한 공간계획을 수립하기 위한 선행연구로서 지역특성 및 유형화 분석을 수행하고자 하였다. 먼저, 지역특성을 규명하기 위해서 인구규모, 농업구조, 생활환경 등이 반영된 변수들을 중심으로 인자분석을 적용한 결과, 개발지향적 인자, 농업적 인자, 생활환경적 인자, 미작적 인자, 과수적 인자가 추출되었고, 지역유형은 과수농업중심형, 중 소규모 농업형, 과소 침체 농촌형, 도시화 진행형, 도시 농촌 혼재형, 동남부해안 공업형으로 군집화되었으며, 지역유형구분의 신뢰도를 통계적으로 검증하기 위해 판별분석을 적용한 결과, 제II, V, VI유형은 100%이고, 나머지 유형은 90%정도의 신뢰도를 가지는 것으로 나타났다.

지역의료보험의 재정 적자요인 분석 (An Analysis on Factors Relating to Fiscal Deficit for Regional Health Insurance Program in Korea)

  • This study was designed to investigate factors relating to fiscal deficit for regional health insurance. The financial statements for the fiscal year 1990 of nationwide 254 regional medical insurance societies were analyzed. Important findings are summarized below: 1. There were differences in the main reason fur the financial deficit among regions when deficit and surplus societies were compared by regions. The total revenue per enrollee, especially revenue from the premium contribution of a deficit society was significantly smaller than that of a surplus society in large cities and counties. On the other hand, the total expenditure per enrollee of a deficit society was larger than that of a surplus society in small cities. 2. Both low premium rate at the beginning of health insurance program and less effort to increase the premium rate were main factors for the smaller revenue from the contribution of a deficit society in large cities and counties. 3. Larger expenditures per covered person of a deficit society in small cities were explained with larger medical expenditures especially for out-patients services rather than larger administrative expenses. 4. A regression analysis showed that utilization rates in out-patient services were significantly associated with income and numbers of total medical care institution per capita within a region where a health insurance society located. Also expenses paid by insurer per visit were associated with the proportion of utilization for tertiary care hospitals as well as the proportion of utilization of public health centers.

Security, Privacy, and Efficiency of Sustainable Computing for Future Smart Cities

  • Sustainable computing is a rapidly expanding field of research covering the fields of multidisciplinary engineering. With the rapid adoption of Internet of Things (IoT) devices, issues such as security, privacy, efficiency, and green computing infrastructure are increasing day by day. To achieve a sustainable computing ecosystem for future smart cities, it is important to take into account their entire life cycle from design and manufacturing to recycling and disposal as well as their wider impact on humans and the places around them. The energy efficiency aspects of the computing system range from electronic circuits to applications for systems covering small IoT devices up to large data centers. This editorial focuses on the security, privacy, and efficiency of sustainable computing for future smart cities. This issue accepted 17 articles after a rigorous review process.

  • As a means to cope with the climate change crisis caused by global warming, automobile manufacturers continue to make efforts to use the driving energy of vehicles as electricity. As a result, parts industry such as battery, motor, and controller are attracting attention. China is often seen in large cities, with electric vehicles such as electric bicycles, electric motorcycles, and small electric vehicles popularized and commercialized, mainly in large cities. However, small electric vehicles are not popular in Korea, which is why the country's topography is high in hills. In order to drive the hilly domestic roads, power performance including vehicle climbing ability should be improved. In order to improve the power performance and the climbing capacity of small electric vehicles, the capacity of the motor should be increased. However, when the performance of the motor is improved, the weight of the motor becomes heavy and the price competitiveness is likely to decrease. In addition, in order to operate a high-performance motor, the power consumption of the battery is rapidly increased, so various problems must be solved. In order to commercialize a small electric vehicle for one or two people who do not emit harmful exhaust gas to the human body in a hilly domestic terrain, it is effective to have a separate transmission system. In this study, we were conducted dynamometer test to produce a continuously variable transmission(CVT) system prototype using a spring that can be applied to a small electric vehicle and to install a CVT system prototype manufactured in a small electric vehicle. The dynamometer test results showed that the maximum speed performance, acceleration performance, and climbing performance were improved.

고차 서비스 접근성을 고려한 고속철도 연계형 생활권 구축에 관한 연구 -충청권, 영남권, 호남권, 강원권 비교를 중심으로- (Construction of High-Speed Railway Based Living Zone Considering High-order Service Accessibility: focused on comparison between Chungcheong, Yeongnam, Honam and Gangwon Region)

  • 인구감소가 심화되고 있는 상황에서 지방 중소도시의 쇠퇴가 사회적 문제로 대두하고 있다. 지방 중소도시의 인구감소는 수요에 기반한 생활 서비스 공급의 어려움을 증가시킬 것이다. 따라서 생활 서비스 접근성을 높이는 것은 향후 지방 중소도시 거주민의 삶의 질에 매우 중요하다. 이런 배경에서 본 연구의 목적은 고속철도를 통해 대도시의 고차 서비스를 이용할 수 있는 생활권을 도출하는 것이다. 이를 위하여, 설문조사를 통해 지방 중소도시 거주자의 고차 서비스 이용 행태를 조사하였으며, GIS 분석을 통하여 생활권과 취약지역 도출하였다. 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 대부분의 지방 중소 도시민은 대도시에서 문화, 의료, 쇼핑, 교육 서비스를 이용한 경험이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 고차 서비스 이용을 위한 대도시 방문에 소요되는 시간은 약 2시간, 희망시간은 약 50분으로 나타났다. 셋째, 접근성 개선 시 광역시의 고차 서비스를 이용의사가 높게 나타났다. 넷째, 많은 지역이 고속철도를 통해 대도시의 서비스 이용이 가능한 생활권으로 도출되었다. 마지막으로 강원권 북부, 영남권의 북부지역, 충청남도의 서해안, 전라남도와 경상남도의 접경지역이 주요 취약지역으로 나타났다.

청소년의 외식 경향 실태 조사: 중.고생 지역별 비교 연구 (A Study on the Eating Out Behavior Patterns of Youth: Junior High and Senior High School Students from Different Regions)

  • This study was conducted to investigate eating-out behavior patterns of youths, especially junior high and senior high school students. 1600 questionnaire surveys were distributed and 1487 were used for analysis. In order to consider regional differences as well as overall characteristics of youths' eating-out behaviors, the subjects were evenly sampled from north Seoul, south Seoul, big cities, middle/small cities and small towns. As for the frequency of eating-out, 62.7% of respondents answered once to twice per week. For the can of more than 5 times of eating-out per week, the respondents from south Seoul showed the highest frequency. For the case of no eating-out, the highest frequency was shown from the small towns. As for the most frequently visited place for eating-out, 33.6% of respondents answered Korean style restaurants, and 17.6% Boon-sik(Sanck-bar). Regarding the preference of Korean style restaurants, the highest rate was shown from the residents of big cities. For the question of when they eat out, 89.6% answered dinner and 6.3% lunch. For the question about reason of choosing particular restaurants, 61.5% of respondents referred to tastes and 16.6% price. For the question of the most important reason of eating out, 52.6% point out 'meal solution' and 25.6% 'for meeting.' As for the people accompanied when eating out, 67.2% of the respondents answered family. For the cost of eating out per person, 45.7% of the respondents spent 2000-4000 won for lunch; 31.1% spent 5000-10,000 won for dinner; 33.7% of the respondents spent more than 20,000 won for the special events. Regarding the regional differences of eating-out cost, respondents from south Seoul tended to spend the biggest amount of money for lunch, dinner and special day.

금북정맥 주변 산림조각의 경관생태학적 해석 (Delineating Forest Patches around the Geumbuk Mountains from a Landscape Ecological Perspective)

  • The objective of this study was to delineate forest patches in the cities around the Geum-buk mountains at the north of the Geum River using multiplesatellite remote sensing data. Landsat visible and near-infrared satellite images obtained at multiple dates in the growing season were used to create a forest distribution map. Fragstats 3.3 was used to get the landscape indices delineating the distribution of forest patches. Additional ground truth data was used to assess the accuracy of the classification. Factor analysis was used to get the 26 landscape indices clustered into 4 factors. Factor I was labeled as' size of forest patches', factor II as 'fragmentation of forest patches', factor III as 'shape of forest patches', and factor IV as 'complexity of forest patches'. Factor I described large patches and their core area, while others did small patches and their shape and complexity. Cities including Cheonan, Gongju, Cheongyang, and Boryeong near the main ridge of the Geumbuk Mtns. had a small number of large-sized forest patches. However, cities including Taean, Seosan, Dangjin, Hongseong near the ridge of the western Geumbuk Mtns. had a large number of small-sized forest patches. Finally, this study showed that the region near the coast line in Chung-nam province has various types of forest patches having an irregular forest edge due to the elevation and slope lower than the one of the region far from the coast line which is near the ridge of the Geum-buk Mountains. Remote sensing data were useful to understand the distribution of forest patches, and landscape indices could be keys to delineate the relationship between forest patches. And the factor analysis, which simplified 26 landscape indices into 4 landscape patterns allowed us to understand the distribution and relationship of forest patches in an easy way.

지방도시근교 단독주택의 외피구성 현황에 관한 연구 - 광주광역시/전남 소규모 건축설계사무소 실무자를 대상으로 - (A Study on the Current Status of Building Envelope in detached houses of near Local Cities - with Staff of Small-sized Architectural Design Firms in Gwangju and Jeonnam -)

  • This study examined the building envelope structure used in small housings near urban area which have not good energy source in relation to the application of passive design for energy saving of small-sized architectural design firms in local cities and aimed to provide the basic materials of future design direction of designers and housing owners by analyzing economy of a project in order to know the amount of energy saving and additional expenses depending on the building envelope pattern. As a result of comparing and examining the energy saving cost from the period of use compared to investment by the thickness of insulating materials based on building envelope pattern for energy saving, it was found that the thicker the insulating materials are, the more energy saving amount is. While the current bead-type insulating materials have short payback period due to low initial investment, extruded insulating materials show the difference of five years compared to bead-type insulation because of its high initial investment.
