This article investigates the role of Japan in Korean consumption of Nordic design. In spite of the development of greater access to wide information and global markets, the popular trends in Korea have been mediated by Japan. The cultural power of Japan comes from otaku subculture. Japanese influence can be discussed by two sides. One is the images or symbols composing the Nordic style in Korea. The other is the way how to consume the Nordic design. Japanese neopop images combined with the Nordic design. Japanese 'slow movie' has combined American Kinfolk style with Nordic style. 'Database consumption' from otaku subcultre conceptualized by Azma Hiroki can be applied to Korean consumption of Nordic design.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the possible effects of incorporating short-term slow-abdominal respiration (SAR) into an exercise program, on balance and the cardiac-related autonomic nervous system (ANS). Design: Cross-over repeated measures design. Methods: Fifteen young and healthy adults were randomly assigned into two groups (7 in the C-R group, 8 in the R-C group), each of which carried out both control sequence (C) and respiration-experiment sequence (R) in the inverse order. In the C sequence, the subjects performed passive exercises and a general exercise program (P-GEP). In the R sequence, the subjects received a short-term SAR training session and then performed the respiration incorporated general exercises program (R-RGEP). Before and after both C and R sequences, the length and the area of the displacement of the center of pressure (COP) and heart rate variability parameters were measured. Results: The total length of the COP displacement in the left single-leg-standing condition showed a significantly greater reduction after R-RGEP in the respiration-experiment sequence than after the P-GEP in the control sequence (p<0.05). The mean heart rate was significantly reduced only after R-RGEP in the respiration-experiment sequence (p<0.05) Conclusions: The slow-abdominal-respiration, trained in a simple manner and integrated into the exercise program in a single session, showed partially positive immediate effects on balance stabilization. The decrease in heart rate indicated possible involvement of the parasympathetic ANS activation in the stability, although it is not enough to decide whether it is purely due to the controlled respiration.

In this paper, we propose a new EIM(erasure insertion method) based on the average-minimal-noise-power for HOM(higher order modulation) over AWGN(additive white Gaussian noise) under PBJ(partial-band jamming). Then we design SFH/SS(slow-frequency-hopping spread-spectrum) system by applying this method and formulate the PER(packet error rate) of the system. Based on this formula, we propose a new method to set the optimal threshold of the EIM and verify it at the designed 16-QAM SFH/SS system.

An experiment was conducted to determine the effects of feeding extruded-floating (EP), slow-sinking (SP), fast-sinking (FP) or moist (MP) prepared with two different levels of fish meal, respectively, on the growth, feed efficiency and body composition in Korean rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli). Triplicate groups of the 50 fish averaging 75g were fed each of the following diets : high fish meal (72% in diet)-EP, low fish meal SP, low fish meal-FP and low fish meal-MP for 15 weeks. Dietary fish meal levels or pellet types did not influence weight gain, feed efficiency and bo요 composition of the fish (P>0.05). Findings showed that each of EP, SP or FP can by used as a practical type of diet for Koran rockfish.

To improve the slow convergence property of the steepest ascent type algorithm for continuous D-optimal design problems. we develop a new algorithm. We apply the nonlinear system of equations as the necessary condition of optimality and develop the two-point algorithm that solves the problem of clustering. Because of the nature of the steepest coordinate ascent algorithm avoiding the problem of clustering itself helps the improvement of convergence speed. The numerical examples show the performances of the new method is better than those of various steepest ascent algorithms.

In this paper, author studied on the elementary data required for the design of the receiver of Pseudo Noise (PN) phase modulation communication adopted in Global Positioning System(GPS). By computer simulation technique, the phase modulator, filters, and PN generator are designed, and also required bandwidth of R-F amplifier for carrier frequency in phase modulation system is investigated. It is verified that the optimum bandwidth is about 3 times of the PN frequency and almost independent of the carrier frequency. And the low pass filter required for demodulation of slow Boolean data is also found to be about 60 times of the data signal frequency.

This paper presents a procedure for the time-scale separation and a design method for the sub-optimal composite regulator and Kalman filter of the large-scale discrete stochastic system with two time-scale properties. Provided that the fast sub-system is asymptotically stable, the reduced-order regulator and Kalman filter for the slow sub-system with dominant modes is designed as a sub-optimal regulator for the system.

In this paper, the analysis and design of a spirally slotted array antenna with high efficiency are presented. Electric fields in the slots are calculated by electromagnetic fields in the upper waveguide and radiation field equations are derived. Slots are arrayed spirally on the upper circular plate of twofold radial waveguide. In order to suppress grating lobes from the array, a slow wave structure is inserted in the upper waveguide. This antenna is characterized by a good circular polarization, high efficiency of 75 percent and grating lobes below -34dB.

The world is changing drastically by digital information technology and ubiquitous networking. Meanwhile, with the demographic avalanche, South Korea officially became an 'ultra-aging society' in 2026. Simultaneously, this demographic change will also stimulate a cultural climate which facilitates the formation and dissemination of 'slow culture' from the existent urban 'fast culture' which has been weakening the retirement living. One of the fundamental connections with the slow movement appears in the cooking and dining area. With this point of view, this study aims to identify the needs and behaviors of the elderly in current restaurants and a digitally planned multi-purpose one for the future. Small group workshop was employed for this study. In order to elicit detailed information from the elderly group members, scenarios were developed. A group facilitator kept the discussion on track by asking a series of open-ended questions meant to stimulate discussion. As the results, it was revealed that the elderly were interested in digitally planned restaurant which provides one-stop service including entertainment activities, health related contents and socializing with family. Even though this study took restaurant scenarios, the ideas in them also provide holistic perspectives on the direction of marketing and planning strategies on various future environments and services.
