The Design of PIDA Controller with Pre-Compensator

  • PID controller is applied mostly to two-order system. In third-order or higher- system, it's impossible to get high response quality because of having more zero point than the number of zero point being in the PID controller. To solve those, Jung & Dorf suggested a new type of PIDA controller and solved problen of a third-order system. But, as the result of getting step response using PIDA controller, rising time is very quickly but wide overshoot is happened. Beside designing PIDA controller with using CDM(Coefficient Diagram Method) suggested by shunji manabe. But, In Performance standard, CDM decreases overshoot to desired but rising time is very slow. Therefore this paper suggest a PD-PIDA controller for low overshoot with PD type Pre-compensator. This paper applied designed PD-PIDA controller to position control of 3-Phase induction motor.

  • In this paper, an frequency tracking algorithm for weak signal tracking is proposed. The proposed frequency tracking algorithm uses a FMS (Fast Minus Slow) discriminator for frequency error estimation. This frequency tracking algorithm shows good frequency estimation performance under weak signal condition and is a computationally efficient for embedded software GNSS receiver. The software GNSS receiver implementing the proposed weak signal tracking algorithms could track GPS signal down to - 159dBm signal strength in the signal generator test and real GPS signal under dense urban condition.

  • A controller area network (CAN) controller is an integral part of an electronic control unit, particularly in an advanced driver assistance system application, and its characteristics should always be advantageous in all aspects of functionality especially in real time application. The cost should be low, while maintaining the functionality and reliability of the technology. However, a CAN protocol implementing serial operation results in slow throughput, especially in a cyclical redundancy checking (CRC) unit. In this paper, digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms are implemented, namely pipelining, unfolding, and retiming the CAN controller in the CRC unit, particularly for the encoder and decoder sections. It must attain a feasible iteration bound, a critical path that is appropriate for a CAN system, and must obtain a superior design of a high-speed parallel circuit for the CRC unit in order to have a faster transmission rate. The source code for the encoder and decoder was formulated in the Verilog hardware description language.

  • This paper deals with an active gate drive (AGD) technolo밍T for high power IGBTs. It is based on an optimal c combination of several requirements necessmy for good switching performance under hard switching conditions, The s scheme specifically combines together the slow drive requirements for low noise and switching stress and the fast driver requirements for high speed switching and low switching energy loss The gate drive can also effectively dampen oscillations during low cunent turnlongrightarrowon transient in the IGBT, This paper looks at the conflicting requirements of the c conventional gate dlive circuit design and the experimental results show that the proposed threelongleftarrowstage active gate dlive t technique can be an effective solution.

  • It is difficult to design the controller of an induction motor because of its non-linearity and high order dynamics. But it is possible to get reduced order system using the theory of singular pertubation because the dynamics of induction motor consists of fast stable mode and slow one. On the other hand, the sliding mode control is well-known for its performance of robustness. This paper deals with the sliding mode controller of induction motors based on the reduced order system.

  • When the M-ary signal experiences the Rayleigh fading, the diversity schemes can reduce the effect of fading since the probability that all the signals components will fade simultaneously is reduced considerably. The symbol error probabilities for various M-ary signals, such as MDPSK(M-ary DPSK) and MPSK(M-ary PSK), are mathematically derived for the Selection Combining 2(SC-2) and Selection Combining 3(SC-3) demodulation system which requires a less complex receiver than Maximum Ratio Combining(MRC). The propagation model used in this paper is the frequency-nonselective slow Rayleigh fading channel corrupted by the Additive White Gaussian Noise(AWGN). The numerical results presented in this paper are expected to provide information for the design of radio system using M-ary modulation method for above mentioned channel environment.

  • An alternative solution to the problem of obtaining acceptable performances on a fading channel is the diversity technique, which is widely used to combat the fading effects of time-variant channels. The symbol error probability of M-ary DPSK (MDPSK), PSK (MPSK) and QAM (MQAM) systems using 2 branches from the branch with the largest signal-to-noise ratio(SNR) at the output of L-branch selection combining(SC), i.e., SC2 in frequency-nonselective slow Nakagami fading channels with an additive white Gaussian noise(AWGN) is derived theoretically. These performance evaluations allow designers to determine M-ary modulation methods against Nakagami fading channels.

  • Due to the aging effect, older people have relatively weaker muscular performance, less range of motion in the joint articulation, and the lower sense of equilibrium than younger people. These factors attribute to their slow and clumsy ingress/egress motion. In order to analyze ingress/egress motion strategy of the elderly, healthy thirty 65 or more years old volunteers were recruited. The health condition of the each volunteer was verified by the medical checkup and also their physical capabilities were quantified by six fitness tests. Through the video analysis, older driver's ingress/egress motion strategies were classified and statistically investigated. For a comparison purpose, another thirty young volunteers also participated in the same test protocol and their ingress/egress motion strategies were also included in the statistical analysis.

  • A new reconfigurable model following flight control method based on direct adaptive scheme is presented. Using the timescale separation principle, both the inner-loop and the outer-loop states are controlled simultaneously. For the timescale separation assumption to be satisfied, the inner-loop model dynamics is set to be fast whereas the outer-loop model dynamics is set to be relatively slow. The stability and convergence of the proposed control law is proved by Lyapunov theorem. One of the merits of the proposed reconfigurable controller is that the FDI process and the persistent input excitation are not necessary, which is suitable for the flight control system. To evaluate the reconfiguration performance of the proposed control method, numerical simulation is performed using six degree-of-freedom nonlinear dynamics.

  • To promote the inclusion of end-to-end congestion control in the design of future protocols using best-effort traffic, we propose a router mechanism, Extended FRED(ex-FRED). In this paper, we catagorize the TCP controlled traffics into robust and fragile traffic and discuss several unfairness conditions between them caused by the diverse applications. For example, fragile traffic from bursty application cannot use its fair share due to their slow adaptation. Ex-FRED modifies the FRED(Fair Random Early Drop), which can show wrong information due to the narrow view of actual buffer. Therefore, Ex-FRED uses per-flow accounting in larger virtual buffer to impose an each flow a loss rate that depends on the virtual buffer use of a flow. The simulation results show that Ex-FRED uses fair share and has good throughput.
