Transient Vibration Identification and Reduction of a Centrifugal Fan for a Wall-installed Air-conditioner (벽걸이에어컨의 원심홴에 대한 과도진동 규명 및 저감)

  • In this paper, experiment and dynamics simulations were carried out to identify and reduce the out-of-plane vibration that occurs in a centrifugal fan of an air conditioner installed to a wall. In a wall-installed air conditioner, large space between a case and heat exchanger is often required for the fan to avoid the collision with the case and exchanger. This large space hinders the slim design of the air conditioner even if air conditioner market demands a slim air conditioner. In the present study, in order to determine the cause of the vibration in the centrifugal fan, the out-of-plane vibration and the physical properties were investigated, and the dynamic characteristics of the centrifugal fan were obtained by experiments. Based on these experiments, a dynamic simulation model was established to determine the cause of the out-of-plane vibration of the centrifugal fan. It was found that the main factor of out-of-plane vibration in the centrifugal fan is the axial misalignment between the centrifugal fan and the motor shaft.

Numerical and Experimental Analysis of Design Parameters of a Slim Room Air-conditioner (슬림형 룸에어컨 설계 인자에 관한 연구)

  • Numerical simulations and experiments were conducted to analyze the design parameters for a slim room air-conditioner. These design parameters included a fan shape, a front panel, a scroll shape, a bell mouth, a distance between a fan and a heat exchanger, etc. Each design parameter was analyzed numerically and/or experimentally in terms of the flow rate and the sound pressure level, which should be the most influential factors for developing the slim room air-conditioner. The fan with a uniform height showed a better performance than that with a linearly varying height. It is recommended to use a front grill rather than a front panel according to sound pressure levels since the front panel itself is a huge resistance to the inlet flow. A redesigned scroll shape by changing the rotational direction of a fan also contributed a lot to lowering the sound pressure level. There existed a distance between a fan and a heat exchanger, where flow rates increased effectively.

Slim Air-Conditioner with Parallel Flow Heat Exchangers for Cooling of Telecommunication Cabinet (평행류 열교환기가 적용된 무선통신 중계기 냉각용 슬림형 공조기)

  • Slim telecommunication cabinet cooler, equipped with parallel flow heat exchangers and operating with R-22, is developed. The performance is compared with imported one, equipped with fin-tube heat exchangers and operating with R-134a. Test results show that the newly-developed cooler increases the cooling capacity by 6% and EER by 33%. The refrigerant charge for the developed cooler is 500g compared with 1250g for the imported one. The adoption of parallel flow heat exchanger appears to have reduced the refrigerant charge. In addition, it is shown that the reduced air flow rates through parallel heat exchangers as compared with those through fin-tube heat exchangers are beneficial to the reduction of the equipment noise.

  • Noise reduction has become a major issue of the duct air-conditioners. This paper describes the reduction of noise and vibration of rotational slim duct system. The design of slim duct system is the most important point of noise reduction in terms of the motor of 2f line noise, resonance noise between forced frequency and natural frequency of Sirocco fan, unbalance noise of motor axis and the noise induced refrigerant. The noise of duct system is mainly measured from diffuser and bottom of duct. The optimal design was implemented after measuring the effect of noise and vibration in each part which is composed of duct system. In this paper, experimental results show that the main elements in air-conditioner duct design. These elements are anti-vibration rubber of motor, axis length of motor, rubber coupler, materials of sirocco fan and control method of motor which are the most vital factors in reducing noise.

Which .is the firm for home electric appliances representing Korea. This studies for the development and the design of the products by the firm thus emphasizing the visulizing it based on this study. For example as they being the goods for the summer season I have tried to know the physical quakity and the characters of koreans by the weather conditions and estimated the demand by setting up the target customers of the PAC as the customers' environment. And I analyzed the acts in the living room in the apartments as the living envinorment which has the direct relation with PAC and also became a help to the moulding work of PAC by analyzing the complete interior image in the living room. In the practical moulding work the Design concept was classified into the envinorment of customer, living and products to drive as the below. Firstly - New shape (Round slim) has been realized which leads the minimizing the moulding space and visul sense of opening as its being spacious. The 2nd - the high class sense of the products which are harmonious with the atmosphere of the living room by making it interiorized has been visible. The 3rd - The shape stimulating the sensitivity of the users and surface treatment are emphasized by making it be touched. The 4th - During inviting use of technology image which appears in the electronics products are attemptedby making it be high quality.king it be high quality.
